This New MCP Makes ChatGPT Astra 10X More Useful (Softr MCP Launch) transcript

Chat GPT Astra can build you almost anything right now, but the second you close the chat, it's going to be gone. No database, no logins, no way for your team to actually use it. And the new MCP I'm going to share with you in this video actually fixes this because it turns Astra or Claude into a real app builder with persistent database, workflows, permissions, and secure logins for your whole team. So, instead of copying code out of a chat window and hoping it runs somewhere else, you can get an actual internal tool that your team can use.

So, by the end of this video, you're going to know exactly what I'm talking about, how to connect it to Chat GPT or Claude in just a few minutes, and the crazy use cases you can outbuild with it. So, basically, you get the speed of AI without your entire app running on AI-generated code. Here's how you set this up. So, from inside of Softr right here, what I'm going to do is I'm going to click on my name right here. We can see use Softr inside of all of these. I'm going to click on Chat GPT, and this shows us exactly how to actually do this. We can come over here and add Softr as a plugin. So, I'm going to come into chat GPT.

I'm going to come over into my plugins. I'm going to do a search for Sola. We can see it right here. We can actually click into this and we can see all the different things that this allows us to do. What I'm going to do is I'm going to click on install plugin right here and then this is going to authenticate this using my account. I'm going to give this full access to all applications, forms, databases, and workflows right here.

We're going to click on allow and this is going to go through and this is going to get the setup. And like I just said, this allows you to literally do it in less than 60 seconds. We can come over here and we can now see that this can help us build whatever we want. For example, one of the things that I personally need to build because right now this lives in my notes is I need to build a database and a dashboard where I can track outstanding sponsorship invoices that I have and future videos that I have to make.

So, basically, what I want is like a project management software for me to be able to track everything that I'm actually doing. And we can see that all we have to do is come over here, ask this to do this. This is using chat GPT-6 Ashra on media mode. And by the way, if you are on a pro account, I would stick with media mode. I wouldn't go any higher than that. If you are on a plus account, I would bring this down to light mode.

It's automatically on medium, but one thing that I found is people that have plus accounts they eat through their chat GPT credits really quickly if they're operating on medium. So, we can see this is now going to go through. It's going to check Sola's tools and it's going to set this up. So, we can see that this is going through and building two connected sections. It's building invoices, balances, and overdue flags and videos with script draft and publish deadlines.

I'm going to be able to add and edit both from directly inside of the dashboard and they're going to leave the records empty so no unverified payments or deadlines appear as real data. And we can see that this is literally going through and this is building all this for us inside of Sola, but we're doing it from chat GPT and it's not eating software credits. And if the software UI ever felt overwhelming for you, this is literally the perfect fix right here, because you could build the whole thing from inside of a chat, and this is now actually going through and building all this out.

We can control the visibility rules, we could vibe code using the MCP, we could check out the databases using the MCP, which is insane. And if I actually come over into my software account, we could see that if I come over into all projects right here, that this is getting built up right here. So, it's literally already live inside of here. Now, if I click into this, obviously it's not done yet, but we could see that this is going through and actually beginning to build all of this out.

Now, once this is actually all done, I'll show you what it looks like. We could see that we could simply open up our dashboard by just clicking on this right here. So, I'm going to click on open link, and this is actually going to bring us to our dashboard, where we are going to be able to actually see everything here. Look at this. This was built, and what's incredible about this is that it's automatically optimized for computer, automatically optimized for tablet, automatically optimized for mobile.

We could see exactly what my users will be able to see from directly inside of here. In addition to that, if I change the view here so that I'm not actually viewing this as a user, we could see that the interface is fully created. We could come over into the database right here, and we could see everything that's in here, like videos and invoices. In addition to that, we could come over here, and we could see all of the users, that this is just a test user, shows us the last time they were seen, their status.

In addition to that, we could actually build out workflows from inside of here. And guess what? We can control all of this from directly inside of Chat GPT. For example, I'm going to come over here and we're actually going to get this to do multiple things at one time. So, first and foremost, I want to create a workflow, so I'm going to say, "I want to create a few things and add them to this. First, can we add in a bunch of dummy data so that this looks real and I can see what it'll look like with users.

So, we're doing that really just to be able to display and see if it actually looks good when it's actually populated with stuff. Second, we're going to say, "I want to build a workflow that'll automatically email people that have not paid their invoice and they're 7 plus days overdue. I'm going to do third, I want to build a workflow that will automatically email me {slash} notify me every morning at 9:00 a.m. of open tasks that I have on new sponsors.

And then fourth, and again, we're getting this to do all of this at one time, and this is actually able to adjust all these things. We're going to say, "I want you to custom vibe code a block in there and have it be something related to items three and four." So, what this is then going to do, this is going to interpret all this. We literally just gave this plain text right here, and this is why I actually like using the MCP better, because if we come over here back into this, we would have to build these workflows one by one.

We would have to add in this data and add in these users one by one, but guess what? We don't actually have to do that now, because we could just tell chat GPT, "Hey, I want you to do all of these things at one time," and then it will literally run off and be able to handle it. Now, something else that's pretty crazy that I want to show you here, which I think is absolutely nuts and we could see it this is already beginning to populate here.

Is if we come over into settings, we can actually turn our app into an MCP so then our users or our team can also use it as MCP and we literally just come over here and enable this and they'll be able to sign into their own account. It's going to keep their permissions, so it's going to keep everything the same. So they'll be able to interact with this with ChatGPT also and don't actually have to log into it, which is insane because this allows us to give our live app its own MCP so that team, the users, anybody can connect it to their cloud or ChatGPT and again every single one of their requests is going to be based off of their permissions that their account actually has because they'll have to authenticate it with their account on our app.

And this is just nuts how fast it makes it for us to build things and for our users or our team to be able to interact with this and this is way better than paying for some rigid project software where I'd have to go through and set all of this up where I've literally just chatted with ChatGPT and this has literally only taken me a few minutes to do this. In fact, one thing that I want to say genuinely right here is the other videos that I've created on software because I've created several of them took me about an hour to make them because I'd have to go back and forth with this.

This genuinely has taken me about 15 minutes to make this video that you're watching right here because as we can see ChatGPT is literally doing all the work and doing everything. I mean, look at this. It went through and added in all of this data. So we have the invoices, we have the videos. In addition to that, if we come over to the interface, we could see that this has also been updated. If I come over into workflows, we could see that these are already done.

So recurring schedule, find open sponsor tasks, then email me at 9:00 a.m. We come over here into remind overdue, we could see recurring schedule, find unpaid invoices and this will go through and actually email them. So it created workflows and automations. It added in all of this data and the last thing that I asked it to do was create that custom vibe coded block, which is what it did right here, which shows me everything that's up next, what's overdue, what hasn't been started, what's in the filming stage, what's in the editing stage, what's in the scripting stage, and I cannot believe that we're now able to do all of this and control all of this from inside of ChatGPT.

Now, I know that I showed you this for a use case that I personally am going to use and my team is going to use, which is handling all of our sponsors. But, you could literally use this for anything. You could use this to build an internal tool that your team is going to use. You could use this to build an app that you can then sell. The use cases here are literally endless. And we could publish this and have this live right now.

And again, it literally only took a few minutes to be able to create this by using ChatGPT. And if you want to be able to get the most out of this, you need to make sure that you're using the software plugin. You need to make sure that you are actually going through and you're telling it exactly what you want. And the other thing I want to show you, which again, I think is the most mind-blowing part about this, is if I actually come over into my account on Software, we could see right here that I am on the free account.

Literally, all of this was done from the free account. So, now you have no excuse. Whatever internal tool your team needs, whatever thing you think that your audience would like, or whatever business you want to start, you could get that started.
