Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about Prepublish
Is Prepublish related to YouTube's "prepublish checks" feature?
No. YouTube's prepublish checks are a built-in Studio step that screens an uploaded video for copyright claims and ad-suitability issues before it goes live. Prepublish (prepublish.ai) is an independent tool and is not affiliated with YouTube: it analyzes your script before you record, maps script-level attention risks, and rewrites weak hooks and pacing. Same moment in the workflow, completely different job.
How does Prepublish analyze my script?
Paste your script or upload a video, and we run a single unified AI pass that scores your hook, structure, and pacing, maps relative script-level attention risk, and generates copy-paste rewrites for weak sections. Processing time varies by length and whether transcription is required.
What can I upload?
Paste any script as plain text, or upload a video file (MP4, MOV, WebM, AVI) up to 5GB. We transcribe the audio and analyze the transcript end to end. There is no length cap on scripts.
How many analyses are included?
Creator plans include 50 script audits per day. Creator is $29/month, or $290/year billed annually.
What kind of improvements do you suggest?
For each weak section we return the exact current text, a copy-paste rewrite, and a one-line reason. Common categories: weak hook, slow pacing, unclear transitions, vague claims, missing payoffs. The rewrite is meant to be dropped straight into your script.
Is the risk map actual audience retention?
No. It is a relative assessment built only from script-level signals, not a measurement or forecast of published retention. Use it to compare sections within your draft. Real retention also depends on delivery, editing, thumbnail, audience match, topic, and distribution.
Can I download a PDF report?
Yes. After every analysis you can download a clean PDF with your overall score, hook/structure/pacing breakdown, script attention-risk map, title rewrites, and section-by-section suggestions. Useful for sharing with editors, clients, or a co-host.
Do you store my videos?
No. We process your upload long enough to transcribe and analyze it, then delete the source file. The transcript and the resulting analysis are saved to your account so you can review them later. Traffic between your browser and our servers runs over HTTPS.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) and other methods supported by Polar.sh, our payment processor. Card details never touch our servers. Cancel anytime, and your first payment is covered by a 14-day money-back guarantee.
What's the difference between monthly and annual?
Same product, same 50 script audits per day. Creator annual is $290/year, shown as $24.17/month, saving $58 vs paying $29 monthly ($348). Annual subscribers also get priority support and early access to new features.
What do current subscribers pay?
Subscribers who joined before 13 September 2026 keep the price they signed up at for as long as they keep their plan. Your features, limits, and guarantee stay exactly as they are.
What do the plans cost?
There are three ways to pay. The Ready-to-Record Pass is $19 once for one script. Creator is $29/month or $290/year ($24.17/month billed annually, which is $58 less than 12 months at $29). Creator Lifetime, $149 once. Everything in Creator, for the life of the product. October offer. Enterprise / Agency is custom: contact us.
What is the policy pre-flight?
A second read of your script alongside the attention analysis. It flags passages that match categories in YouTube’s published advertiser-friendly content guidelines, plus the medical misinformation and spam policies, and links the official page for each category. You get the verdict and the per-category counts free; the exact passages and suggested rewordings come with a Creator plan.
Does the policy pre-flight tell me if my video will be monetized?
No, and it cannot. Only YouTube decides that, and it decides on the finished video. This is a risk read against published guidelines while the script is still cheap to change. It is not a YouTube decision, and it is not a guarantee.
What does the pre-flight not check?
It reads your script text only. Visuals, thumbnails, delivery, edits, and music are not checked. Several policy categories are decided largely by footage, and those carry a visible note saying your script is only part of the picture.
Do you check whether my claims are true?
No. For medical and financial claims the check looks at the form of the sentence, not its accuracy. A sentence that promises a cure or a guaranteed return is flagged for how it is phrased, whether or not the underlying claim is correct. A statement you have hedged or attributed to someone else is not flagged.
Why not just use ChatGPT to check my script?
You can draft with ChatGPT first, and many creators do. A blank chat gives general suggestions that you interpret yourself. Prepublish returns a stable report: hook, structure, and pacing scores, an attention-risk map over your draft, and rewrites tied to the exact lines that need work. Run the free check on your own script and judge from the result.
Will this work for my niche and channel size?
The audit reads the script you supply for hook, structure, pacing, payoff, and title match. It reads text only, so it cannot know how published viewers will respond, and delivery, editing, and topic are outside what it sees. The refund guarantee is the same for every niche and channel size.
How much does Prepublish cost?
There are three purchase options: the Ready-to-Record Pass for one script, the Creator subscription, and Creator Lifetime. Current prices are listed on the pricing page. The free script check needs no payment and shows your scores, the attention-risk map, and the single biggest issue with its rewrite.
How long does an analysis take?
It varies with script length, upload size, whether audio needs transcribing, and current service load. The results screen shows progress while your script runs, and a retry action if an analysis fails.
Current plan prices and the refund windows are on the pricing page.
