No Script X-ray for this video: YouTube shows a Most replayed graph only once a video has enough views.
Do you want this smooth flow slide transition? In this tutorial, I'll show you how to build a smooth flow slide transition in [music] After Effects. Let's get into it. First up, select your first clip and let's handle the scale. Set your baseline keyframe to 100. Move forward and set the second to 115. Easy ease the keyframes. Open up your value graph and pull the handles to match this exact curve right here. Next, we need a clean way to drive the actual movement without messing up our clip properties.
Create a new null object. And parent your first clip directly [music] to it. Now for the main slide animation. On that null, open up the position properties and set your keyframes to drive the movement. Because the clip is moving out of frame, you're going to see these black part. To fix that instantly, search for the CC reptile effect and drop it onto the clip. Make it 1920 until the composition is completely covered.
Change the tiling to unfold. Head back to your position keyframes on the null. >> [music] >> Easy ease the keyframes. And match this graph shape to give the slide its momentum. >> Let's carry that energy over to the second clip. [music] Copy the scale keyframes we just made, paste them onto clip two, and just stretch or compress the keyframes to match the new clip's length. Just like before, create a new null for the second clip.
Parent the footage to it, and keyframe your position to continue the slide. Add CC reptile to keep the edges clean. Easy ease the keyframes and dial in the graph. >> To hide the hard cut and add some serious impact, [music] we need an adjustment layer. Create one right above your cut and trim its length [music] to exactly four frames. Two frames on the left of the cut, two on [music] the right. Search for directional blur and drop it onto the adjustment layer.
Set the direction to 90° to match our horizontal slide and push the blur length up to [music] 45. Now, to bridge the gap into our third clip, we're going to stack our control. Create a second null object for your first scene. Parent your first null to this brand new second null. Set your position key frames to handle the handoff. Easy ease them and match [music] the graph. >> For the third and final clip, create its own null.
Paste that original scale animation. And parent [music] the clip. Keyframe your X position to catch the incoming movement. Add CC reptile. Ease the graph one last time. And match this graph shape to give the slide [music] its momentum. To wrap everything up, take that four-frame blur adjustment layer we made earlier. Duplicate it, and slide it right over the cut between your second and third clips. And that is how you build a seamless, high-end flow [music] slide transition that keeps your video flowing.
