7 Boring But High-Paying Online Jobs (Always Hiring) transcript

The best remote jobs are boring and they're high-paying and always in demand because people don't want them. Instead, they go for what's popular and they end up [music] completely broke. So, in this video, I'll show you seven boring and repetitive remote jobs, but because of that reason, they're actually pretty stable, reliable, and can pay over 70,000 per year and you don't need any experience, which is pretty cool.

So, if you're tired of fake jobs and bad advice everywhere, let me just show you the first one right away. And that is an online collections agent. Now, they say that only two things in life are certain and that is taxes and death. For this job, you'll be a good old debt collector kicking down doors with a weapon in hand. Okay, that's not how it goes at all. As an online collections agent, you're basically the first level of debt collection.

[music] Now, you might be working for a bank or a private lender or whoever is lending out the money, who has the money to lend out basically. And if somebody hasn't paid back their loan, you simply email them, you might call them, and you try to get the money back one way or the other without violence. And you could set up a payment plan so they can pay it over time. Whatever gets you the money back. But, if these people still don't pay, then that's when you call in backup and you escalate your case.

And that's when people actually knock on their door and do the scary stuff, but that's pretty rare. And they're usually going to be paying you after a few calls, saving everybody lots of time and money because chasing these people in person is really difficult and time-consuming. They might be all over the country. So, you basically just reach out to them online instead of having to chase them everywhere. And I'm going to show you some jobs now on the screen that I found on Indeed.

And there are literally hundreds of jobs available here on just this one website, and most jobs don't require any experience either. So, because in most of these videos, they don't show you the actual jobs, but you can see right here on the screen that these actually exist and they're all remote jobs work from home as well, which is pretty cool. Now, you might be thinking, if this is so good, why aren't all of these jobs taken?

The reason is that people don't want this job for one reason. They say that debt collectors don't take no for an answer. And And going to have to be pretty ruthless asking people who don't have money to give you money, which is awful. So, I'll give this job a score of eight out of 10. Not fun, for sure, but reliable because debts always have to be paid one way or the other. All right, so now let's jump right into the next one.

And that is an online reputation specialist. Now, for this job you need zero experience whatsoever, and it's kind of like being an online detective. You'll be searching around the internet scouting for bad reviews, slander, and anything that affects the public perception of your clients. That client could be a famous person or more likely a company like Amazon or Louis Vuitton. Because just think about your own purchases for a second.

Before you buy something online or even in the store, do you go online and check the reviews before you make one of these big buying decisions? Studies have found that reading a single negative review can deter 22% of customers. So, companies pay well for reputation management for a reason. They lose money if they don't. The average salary for this position is about 65,000 per year, and we'll take a look at some jobs now.

Many of these jobs are going to be remote, and you can search for either reputation specialist or reputation manager. And I would also advise you to look into some other titles with similar things like voice of customer. I'm not sure why it's called that, but companies like to switch their job titles around for some reason. And the reason here why this job isn't as crowded as others is because looking at complaints all day isn't the most fun.

But just like with that, we're never going to run out of complaints. So, I'll give it an eight out of 10. It's a pretty stable and reliable job, but not the most fun. But really in these times, I think that's good enough. All right, so up next on our list is going to be a remote accessibility specialist. And according to the World Health Organization or WHO, around 1.3 billion people worldwide have some sort of disability.

In this role, you're going to be ensuring that websites and applications work even for people with bad vision, bad hearing, or other disabilities. And this is not only because they want to, they actually have to do it. And there are going to be various legal requirements such as in the European Union where companies have to ensure their websites meet different accessibility standards. So, they legally have to pay you to fix these things.

And while the job is going to be pretty repetitive and in some ways boring because you're going to be testing >> [music] >> things all day, it's actually really meaningful, too. Because every time that you improve the accessibility, you're helping somebody. And according to Glassdoor, the average salary ranges between 70 to 123,000 per year, which is really good for fixing issues. So, I'll give this one a score of eight out of 10.

I feel like I'm giving everything an eight out of 10, but you going to see some other options, too, later. And I'm lowering it slightly because it does take some skills to get started. You're not just going to be randomly getting this position. You will have to upskill a little bit before. So, next up on the list is something that you can do with no experience, though. And that's going to be remote grant writer. I had no idea that this was a real position before I made this video, but it makes total sense.

Because look, many companies [music] need funding. Whether it's to start their business or to grow and scale their business, they need more money. And a grant writer will basically research and write proposals to secure funding for these companies and these organizations. But it doesn't have to be a for-profit company. It could also be something like an animal shelter that needs money, a foundation, a government agency, or [music] just a regular company.

And these grant proposals can actually secure funding ranging from a few thousand to millions of dollars. But the problem is that there's only so much funding and money available on the market. So, the people with the best proposals win all the money. And that's why this job matters so much because they need you to write good proposals so they can get the money to fund their companies, basically. And according to indeed.com, the salary ranges between 43 to 91,000 per year.

And the reason why the range is so wide is because if you work for a nonprofit like an animal rescue or something like that, you'll usually be making less money, but you might find it more meaningful, so that's up to you. I'll give this job a seven out of 10. Now, coming up next is going to be a virtual receptionist. And there are many entry-level positions now asking for experience, which is ridiculous. But this one actually requires nothing to start working from home.

And as a virtual receptionist, surprisingly, you're going to be doing the same thing as a normal receptionist, just from the comfort of your own home. You could be answering calls, scheduling various appointments, and [music] managing emails for your company. But here's the cool part about this job, because you could be working for a staffing company, which [music] means that you work for one company, and they find various different companies and clients for you.

So all you really have to do is land one job, and then you're pretty much set, because they're going to decide which company you're working for for today. But as a warning and a disclaimer, I always get people in the comments complaining about a lack of jobs when I make these videos. But here's the secret. When you search for this job, try various job titles, because there are going to be so many different names for things like virtual receptionist.

All companies are not going to call it virtual receptionist for various reasons. They might call it administrative assistant, receptionist, or front desk specialist. So do make sure that you check multiple names, because these things are going to be called so many different things. Now, what about the score? I'll give this one a eight out of 10. Not the best pay, but an actual entry-level remote job, which nowadays is pretty hard to find.

So, are you ready for the next job? Because I am. I'm sitting here waiting. And that's the tech support specialist. Now, I get it. You've heard about support jobs again and again, and so have I. But some of you think, "I'm not technical. How could I help somebody?" But the truth is, you don't actually have to be very technical to land a job in IT support. All it takes is being a few steps ahead of the person that you're helping.

And that doesn't take years of studying. And tech support is also a really good entry point and a gateway into IT and cybersecurity, with jobs offering six-figure salaries. Now, this job is completely unique where you get paid for digging [music] deep into interesting things and basically researching it money for it.

You do your research, compile some data, and you summarize your findings. Now, you're thinking who is paying for this? The reason why you can nowadays work from home is because during the pandemic this became really big, but many organizations are still offering this remotely, [music] so you can take advantage of it. But now you're probably thinking who is hiring somebody to research and get paid for it? And that's a really valid question.

But those hiring usually include universities and different academic institutions. If you have a more educational background, that's a very good option. Otherwise, you can work for market research firms, consulting agencies, and various nonprofits. So, there's still many opportunities even if you don't have a traditional research university background. Now, there are some really good pros for this one, which is the flexible working hours and the variety of the work and it's actually pretty interesting.

And the cons are that you have to juggle various tasks and deadlines and the pay isn't the most amazing with an average salary 50,000 per year. But it's still a pretty good job that you can start right at this moment. So, I'll give it an eight out of 10.
