So, step number one, let's find a client. So, you go to the top right of Upwork and click on jobs. Then, in the search bar, you type landing page. Most of people who are looking for landing pages are businesses who need more appointments, calls, etc. Once you do

4 days after Claude released Opus 5.5, I landed this $500 AI website client. This is why I decided to let it build the whole site. And to be fair, I felt like I'm getting paid for brain rot. Because while the build took only 24 minutes, most of the time I was just scrolling reels like a dumbass while the new model did its thing. Which is why today I'm going to show you proof I got paid, why clients pay so much for so little, the full 24-minute website build, and how I got the client without spending a single penny.
Here's proof I got actually paid, and this is not fake. So, here you can see the title of the job that says landing page. Here, when I click, you can literally see that I've been hired for the position landing page. And then, as you can see right here, the project funds are $500, meaning that the client has already sent the money. And now, Upwork holds it and waits until I finish the job and then it will release it my way.
Now, when I hit refresh, you can clearly see this is not fake. This will refresh. And again, you can see 500 bucks. This is refreshed. And you can see I got hired for this position. Now let me tell you why the client pays so much for so little. So what's the reason? Well, first of all, the client doesn't pay me for clicking a button and generating a website with AI. Anybody can do it. What he does though is he pays me to build a specific type of a website that is called landing page.
In this case, the goal of this page is to sell an online course about how to find remote jobs as a student in the UK. and that course sells for $2.97. Now, let's do a simple math. This means if he sells it twice, he's already positive on his investment. So, in a nutshell, he's not paying me to build a website. He's paying me to build him an asset that makes him money, which is exactly what we're going to do. So, let's do it.
Okay, so we will start this whole build by loading this Opus 5.5 website skill. Once we load this, this will allow us to make the website as fast as humanly possible simply because it will ask us set of carefully picked questions that will ensure the website will not only look good but will also make and sell the product very very well. So with that being said, let's get right into this. So I will open clot and then I will open this folder.
Make sure you have clot code. Let's go on my desktop. Let's load this Opus 5.5 website skill. And then once this is loaded, I will just say this. Hey, I attached a folder. Please load this Opus 5.5 website skill. Based on this skill, we will we will be building a landing page for an online course and you will ask me questions based on the skills. So go ahead. Boom. Let's go and let's wait. Okay. So as you can see the build is going to be super super simple.
There is going to be 10 steps in order. The first step is asking me what kind of website are we building. So I am building a website for an online course creator who teaches local students you know students in UK how to find remote jobs. So I will click this personal brand a creator expert or coach who who teaches the online course. Now this is very important. It's going to ask me what is the main job of this website.
And in order to make this website sell this online course, we will pick this online course page which is the recommended option of this skill. Now it asks me and this is very important. Do you have a visual reference for the design? Well, in order to give very very very good visual reference, I have prepared something else. So, if we go here, I prepared this folder called landing page build. And I already do have a template for a landing page that worked very, very well for my client.
So, I'm just going to go ahead and I'm just going to upload this right here. So, I'll select HTML template to edit. Obviously, it asked me to drag the template, so I'm just going to do it. Um, desktop landing page build landing page template. Boom. And now it's done. Let's wait for another question. So right now I need to give it a business information. I need to give it information about the people who this you know online course is targeted towards.
And also I need to give it information about the online course that we are going to be selling through this page. Now to do that I already asked my client to give me you know all the information because I cannot make this up right like this doesn't make sense. So, what I'm going to do, I'm going to do I'm going to go to my Google documents. And as you can see right here, I have all the information about the business.
So, I'm just going to click here file. I'm going to click download. I'm going to click, you know, download as PDF. And again, I'm going to attach this to the, you know, clock chat. So, I'm going to click add files, photos, open, bang. And now it's going to read the entire research and based on that it's going to continue. Now the next thing this is going to ask me is it's going to ask me for branding. Right? This means what fonts, what you know size of you know text we want, what style of text we want, what kind of colors, what background color, what you know color of the font, what you know colors for highlighting the text etc.
Now obviously sometimes the client doesn't have this information but for this case the client has already given me information and as you can see AI has already taken the information you know from that research document that we gave it. So right now we will just select the deskbound brand which is you know the recommended option simply because this is the information the client has given me and AI has actually recognized this right now.
Um now it asks me what visual style should it have. Well for this case we will just keep the template style but and this is very very important. We also want to keep the guidelines that the client gave us in the document. The so what we want we basically want to you know combine the template style plus the client's recommendation. So, I'm just going to say it. Keep the template style, but also the client's recommendations based on the branding.
Okay. And then just submit. And boom. Let's go. The next thing that is very very important, it asks me if I do have images and creatives for the page. Sometimes you have to come up with them yourself and in that case you just go to chat GPT and ask it to create logo for your client or testimonial images etc. But in this case the client has already given me all these images. So if I go on my desktop you can see the client has already given me you know these testimonials and all of this um also you know he has given me the logo.
So this this works perfectly. So I'm just going to hit you know I'll upload them. And now I do have to upload them. And while uploading them I also have to say where to go on the page. So first thing that I'm about to do is I will open the template. Okay. So here we have the template and let's have a look. So the logo um how is this file called? It's actually a f called logo. So replace all logos with file um called logo.
I have attached the entire folder with the creatives and there is a file called logo. I will be giving you which files belong where right now. So I will attach um I will attach the folder. Let's go on my desktop. And right now there is this landing page built creatives. Boom. This is attached. And then um then right in the testimonial section heading, the first testimonial section here, you can see there's like three portrait photos, three small portrait photos.
So, um, replace them with, you know, photo one, two, and three from the creatives folder. Make sure it still stays the same size as in the template. Okay. Just fit in these, you know, people in properly. Okay. So, beautiful. Um, and then no photos, but there we have, you know, we have the the images off of the of the product. So what I'm about to do right now is I'm simply um going to get in the folder again and I think yes product one, product two, product three, product four are the images that belong to the you know what you get section.
So then there is the section uh which is called what you get heading and it has got you know four deliverables and then there are you know four images one for each box and I want you to replace you know number one with product number one image then second one with product number two image and third one product number three image and fourth one product number four image so that's That's it. And then as you can see, we have those last three testimonials.
So what are we going to do? Well, this is very, very simple. You can see there is this result section heading. So I'm going to assign these free testimonials to this exact section just by saying this. And then there's this um last, you know, results section heading, testimonial section with free um images. Um, I want you to simply take images called testimonial one, testimonial 2, and testimonial 3 and put it properly inside this um section and replace these three placeholders.
Other than this, everything is perfect and make sure everything is optimized both for desktop and for mobile. And that's it. And go ahead. Boom. And right now, this is going to replace all the images inside that template. So, let's wait for the result. So, the page is done right now. And let me look at this. Like, this is actually insane. If you ask me, by the way, where is the video? The client told me he's going to send it over once he's got it, you know, recorded.
Um, but other than this, um, I think this looks sick, dude. This looks [ __ ] sick, bro. This section, bro. This is This is insane. This is insane. What I do have problem with is one thing. The copy sometimes sounds like AI slop. So, what I'm about to do right now is I'm just going to go through this and I'm going to give it a couple of things to get fixed. All right. So, the first thing that I don't like is this line.
So, I'm just going to say it. Um, by the way, Claude is still building this [ __ ] Um, and I'll tell you what to change. So, I'm just going to say it. Okay. So, the copy needs a lot of work. So, specifically the lines students who stop scrolling and start a short listing just say um some word from our happy graduates. some some some positive word some words from our happy graduates. That's what I wanted to rewrite. Um, and then remove this free students on what changed sub headline.
This is [ __ ] it's [ __ ] [ __ ] because that sounds robotic. All right, let's see. You search every week and nothing seems to fit. Um, this is too unspecific in my opinion. So, you search every week and nothing seems to fit. Change to you search every week and no job on the marketplace seems to fit your requirements. Beautiful. very important to like these headlines, these subheaders, they're very important because if they're unspecific, they will not make your um audience like stop scrolling and it will look absolutely, you know, it the page will not have the selling power.
You're not lazy. Your search is in the wrong order. Um yeah, that's fine. from your timetable to send application again. I want to tell them like hey here's how you know deskbound works. Okay. So I just want to say this because disbound is the program the headline from your timetable to a send application. I want to change that to how diskbound will help you find a remote job in six simple steps. Beautiful. Um, then fix the here's what's inside header and change it to everything that is included inside deskbound or no change it to everything that is included inside.
This is beautiful. What happens after you join? Very simple to understand. Meet Max. Um, in the meet Max Bennett, just say meet Max. Um, leave the surname and then yeah, rewrite this whole headline because that sounds like a [ __ ] robot again. Meet Max. Just say, "Hey, I'm Max and I spent five years helping applicants just like you." And then I see that all those three points you talk about Max from the from the outside perspective saying like Mac Max Max has spent this, Max has spent that.
But what I want you to do, I want you to say I have spent. Okay? So it feels more personal basically. So this is beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. 14-day triad guarantee. This is exactly what the client told me. Yeah, absolutely freaking amazing. So, right now, I'm just going to say these things. And now, let's wait for what it gives us back. It is done. I have checked the headlines. Everything is fine. You can see, hey, I'm Max.
I spent 5 years helping applicants just like you. And now, it's time to check this on mobile because this is like the most important thing, right? So, iPhone 16 Pro Max voice like I've said this skill takes it and optimizes it and does all the heavy lifting for you. And [snorts] in the in the combination with the template that I've given it, this is absolutely like landing page and website building on steroids. Look at this.
Like this is absolutely insane, man. Like beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Just beautiful. Okay, so I think we're done. And now let's get to the next steps. Now one of the next things that this is going to do, this is going to make the website load fast both on desktop and on mobile. The reason why this is so important because most of the traffic is going to come on phones. and when they visit and when the page takes forever to load or when it even takes like one more second to load, you will lose a lot of people because all those people like we have just fried brains from like dopamine [ __ ] loading from Instagram and it's just like people are not, you know, willing to wait nowadays.
So, this is why it's just so important to have the page load fast and this skill will do this automatically. So, let's wait until it's being done. So, while this is being made, I literally like I can [ __ ] scroll Instagram and do [ __ ] brain rod. Obviously, I'm not going to be doing this because Yeah, it's just I don't know. Like, yeah, like scrolling this. Yeah. No, I shouldn't be doing this. So, I'm taking this phone, taking it out.
But this is why I said um that this is basically a brain rot money at the start of the video because I was basically like I can just scroll. But yeah, whatever. Um absolutely amazing guys. As you can see the page size dropped from 19 megabytes to 1.4 4 which is exactly what will make the page fast because if the you know browser has to load 19 megabytes of files every single time it's impossible to you know to make it load fast whereas one point 1 1.4 for is like in 1 second.
Now, the last thing of this entire build, where do I actually want to put the website online? Well, we could do Netifi, go high level or somewhere else. Well, since the client is running his business in goh high level, I will just go to go high level and I'll show you how to put the website inside in there. Um, so I'll go to my client's account and then right here, this is how goal high level looks. Don't get confused.
Don't get distracted. You just have to go to sites, click funnels, click create new funnel. Make sure it's from blank um LP course version one. Make sure you do it this way. And then once this loads um you just have to click add new step um name of the page I'll just call it course page I'll click create funnel step [snorts] and then what we're basically going to do I will click create from blank and right here I will deploy the HTML file right which basically means I will open this you know page I'll click inspect the code command A command See?
And then I'll go to GHL. Um, and then I don't want this. Um, I just want to click, you know, add one column. Then I'll click this orange one, add, and I'll click add custom code, right? More code. Beautiful. Then I'll just click open code editor. I'll copy and paste the code right here and then I'll click here. I'll click on this green section, you know, and then I will remove all the padding because then there would be like, you know, like spaces, blank spaces, and obviously we don't want that.
Um, blank white spaces. Um, and now this should be good. So, let's see. Let's see. Let's see if this actually works. >> [snorts] >> As you can see, the page is not proper in this. What are we missing? Well, we're we're missing images and we're also missing the background. So, how do we solve this? Well, first of all, we have to solve the the the background, right? Um the images, we're just going to upload them. And as you can also see, this page is like not full with.
So I'm going to say this and I'm just going to say that yo I wanted to upload this inside go high level but the problem with this is that when I upload it the basically the background just doesn't show. So that's completely [ __ ] up. And then also very important thing um the page is like not full width. Um so optimize the code for go high level. Now in terms of the images, obviously we have to upload these images inside go highle and then link them on the website which is exactly what we're going to do right now.
So we have to go to this media storage um folder and then just click you know create I'll click upload folder and then I'll just go in there and then I'll go [snorts] my own website assets. Yep. Yep. Yep. And then yeah, I'll just upload all these assets and I'll upload this entire folder right here. And then what I'm about to do right now is I'm going to tell Claude to link all of these links of all these images that it's built and link it to to the website, right?
To the HTML file because right now it has to be hosted somewhere. And when you're making a website inside go high level, it is hosted in this way if that makes sense. So yeah. Okay. So all we have to do right now is just to take all these links, click get link and then go to clot and just say hey put this image to this section, put that image in that section and that's all that basically we have to do. As you can see there's like a lot of lot of variations of these images.
All of these images are just you know like versions for mobile, versions for desktop etc. The way you do this is you just say, "Hey, this is product number two 800 WEBP image. Assign it to, you know, if it's, you know, desktop, if it's mobile, like assign it correctly." And then you just say it. Put all of those links inside, you know, that conversation. And that's pretty much it, which is all I'm going to do right now.
It's going to take me like 2 minutes. So, I'm not going to be copy pasting images right here because that would be boring. And then while that is done, while that is being done, I will also wait for the GHL um for for the fix for the GHL. And then once that's done, I will re-upload this basically the same, you know, file or the same link to the folder to um to the to the website builder and then I will check whether you know this whole thing works.
So yeah, let's do it. All right. So I'm inside the builder and right now I will go on my desktop because this already um has been updated. Um I'll again show the source code C. Um then I'll go to the editor and now let's see save. Now let's hit save and let's actually open the page. How beautiful. Yes. Yes. Beautiful. Do the images actually work? Yeah. Let's see if it works on mobile as well. Um actually it does. So right now I'm just going to take the link.
Obviously, my client doesn't have, you know, the doesn't have the domain link yet. I have to wait for this. But basically, this website is done. It took us a couple of minutes. Um, I will send it over for a revision. I'm probably thinking that he's going to give me, I don't know, probably like five things to fix. As usual, this is my usual experience with clients. I believe this is going to take me additional 10 or 20 minutes.
Then he's going to give me the domain, the video link. I'm just going to put it in there. and the website is basically going to be done. And this is how you pretty much make money with a website. So with that being said, let me show you how I was actually able to get this client because this is the most valuable part of this entire video. So let's do it. So now the question is how did I actually get this client? Well, I got the client with the best possible way a beginner can imagine. client reached out to me being interested in working with me, meaning they found me on Upwork Marketplace amongst other freelancers and picked me and they want to work specific with me.
There's two reasons why this is one of the best ways for a beginner. First of all, simply because a person that reaches out to you and wants to work with you is extremely easy to sell to because they're basically they basically picked you right on their own. So, you don't have to do any convincing. And second of all, it's because you don't spend any money. Because if the client just messages you, you don't spend any money on connects, which is Upwork's currency and Upwork's way to charge you for applying to jobs.
Because the way Upwork works is two ways. You either apply to jobs or somebody else reaches out to you, which is what happened to me right now. And right now, I'm going to tell you how to actually set up your profile in a way where clients are coming to you. By the way, I've already done this when I had when I didn't have any earnings. You can say, you know, you got great profile. You got all these like 50 [ __ ] jobs.
It's easy. Obviously, it's easier. But I was able to do this when I had zero jobs. This is how I got my first client. My first client reached out to me and paid me 600 $6,500 in total over a span of one year. So, I just wanted to say that this works. Okay. Now, how to actually make a profile that stands out and makes people reach out to you. First things first, just a professional profile photo. Just take, I don't know, like five selfies in great light um of you and just um let AI make that with a nice background with like the sea or like an office or something like this, right?
Give yourself like professional clothes. Make yourself appear professional. You will stand out. This is the first thing they see. If they see shitty selfie from [ __ ] high school, they will not give you their money. Okay? Because it's like if you can't even take a great photo, how the [ __ ] are you supposed to be someone worth trusted be being trusted, right? Now, the next thing um that we have is your headline. So basically right here, this is like the service that you provide.
This is the service that people will see that you provide. In this case, we are building landing pages or websites. So, if I were you, I would just say landing page expert. And then obviously you if you're a beginner, you haven't generated $1 million for your clients. Doesn't matter. If if you don't have it, just don't put it in there. And then what you want to do is just list all the tools that you're able to work in.
In this case, this is go high level and clickfunnels. Basically, I'll show you um I've already shown you the GHL, but Clickfunnels is basically the same tool. Okay, it basically works like a drag and drop editor where you just, you know, drop an HTML code and it, you know, gives you a fully done website. One of the most frequent used ones are also WordPress, Lead Pages, Web Flow, and Kajjabi. So, like just look through these tools.
They all work almost identical as the go high level. It's just different colors, different layouts, but the principle they work on very very similar. Then the most important thing is your um hourly rate. If I were a beginner, I would go around 25 bucks per hour. And what I would do, I wouldn't pick like rounded number like 25.00. I would pick like 24.37. Why? because that stops people in their tracks when they're scrolling through the profiles of you know other [snorts] freelancers.
It's just like it it's going to make them notice like why the hell does he have so specific number? Obviously, there has to be a reason, right? So like you want to do as much as possible to get, you know, their attention. And then for your profile description, this is very simple. Okay? This is the most important thing. This is like your opening client. This, think of it as a hook of an Instagram reel of or intro of a YouTube video.
If it's [ __ ] it's not going to work. If it's great, it's going to, you know, make people want to know more. In this case, you just want to frontload this with social proof as I did right here. Look at this. I've built 200 plus landing pages and funnels for local service businesses, online coaches, and course creators. And over the past 3 years, I've built landing pages and funnels that help one of my clients get to over 1 million in track revenue.
Now, what happens if you don't have any social proof? Well, you use something I call social hacking. Social hacking basically means that you say you've taken somebody else's job studied it reverse engineered it and then you basically all your work is based on all those you know results and all those knowledge all this knowledge. So basically you just say instead of saying you know I have generated blah blah blah blah blah you say I have reverse engineered over 100 websites and landing pages from people like Alex Hermos Russell Brunson Iman Gazi and I put all of the formula all of those things that they're using into my work so that you as a client you're not getting a random work but you're actually getting a work that's based off somebody else's proven results based on someone's, you know, work that's already proven to work.
So, this is how you basically do it. And then the rest of the profile, um, the rest of the description, not really important to be very honest with you. The most important thing is just say, here's what working with me looks like. In this way, you kind of destroy like the initial objection of, you know, people being like kind of like worried, you know, what working with you looks like. And in this way, you kind of, you know, like dismantle it, if that makes sense.
I just say, we hop on a quick 30-minute call. I learn what you need and then if we're a great fit, we can get started. And then, like I've said, this is basically what I do, right? Then I send you a set of carefully picked questions to be able to research your audience and market properly. So, your page or funnel is built for maximum potential success from day one. And then I say, I deliver the first draft and I work until you're happy.
No client has ever needed more than two rounds, by the way. And then I just say you know list of services I provide which in this case you can just say landing page design landing page copy landing page build website build website copy right this is landing page is these onepage websites website is a regular website like a barberh shop website and then this is pretty much all that there's to it and then in terms of the portfolio this is the last most important section you just want to give your clients you know way to actually see like all your past work, right?
And the way you do this is very very simple. All you got to do is just say just just give them like preview of all the work that you did, right? And what you do this is very simple. You just say landing page and who you made this for, right? And you you just say below you can click on the live link to see how the page interacts in real time. Here's the link. And then you just give them like a preview of the landing page.
And you just do this for all your pages. And basically using this whole, you know, system that I just shown you, you can build a portfolio pretty pretty easily in like 3 or 5 days. And then you can start reaching out. So that's pretty pretty much it. Now, the way I got the client was very simple. So, as you can see, he just reached out to me. Um, he basically said like, "Hey, I'm selling an online course, blah blah blah blah blah.
Can you help me setting this up?" And I just said, you know, I'm in central European time zone and I can do any calls between 4 to 6:30 p.m. tomorrow. Blah blah blah blah blah. What times work for you? Hi, thanks for the prompt reply. Let me check my schedule. And then we basically scheduled a call. I discovered that the client needs a landing page. And then basically the client has sent the contract and this is pretty much all that there's to it.
Now, since I know it's very scary to hop on sales calls as a complete beginner, I have put together one of the sales calls for one of my previous clients. I recorded this and I broke down what I did correctly and also what I did incorrectly and how you can basically replicate the same. So, if you want to see it, if you want to see this as a beginner or even someone who just wants to get more jobs on Upwork, then go check out this video where I break this down exactly step by step.
