[instrumental music] -[phone chimes] Hey. -Hey, Mark. How's it going? How's it going? Just putting some finishing touches on over here. You ready to do this? Yeah, man. [phone chimes] [phone chimes] Playing Connect vibes playlist on Spotify. [upbeat music] Hey.
[upbeat music] [audience cheering] All right. Hey, welcome to Connect. [audience cheering] What a wild time to be building. Delivering personal superintelligence is now within reach. Soon, everyone is going to have an extremely capable personal agent that understands your goals and can work twenty-four/seven on your behalf to help you achieve them, whether that's helping you improve your relationships, helping you be more present with your friends and family, saving you time, saving you money, helping you create things, helping advance your career.
The technology now exists to make this all possible. Now, it's no secret that, you know, people in the industry have a wide range of views about how the future is gonna go. But at Meta, we are optimists because we believe in people. We believe that the best way to create a positive future for everyone is to put power in people's hands. We believe that empowering people is the source of prosperity in the world, that the highest purpose of superintelligence is creation and invention, not automation, and that the path to a safe future is to distributing-- to distribute this technology widely and create the right checks and balances rather than concentrating it in the hands of just a few.
So, what does it look like when all of this works, when every person can do more of what we dream and spend more time with the people and on the things that really matter? It's the simple idea that when you empower people, our lives get better. Yet, this idea has become surprisingly controversial. I am more and more convinced that the reason why Meta exists, why we succeed, and why more people use our services than any others in the world is because we actually believe in people.
Building is an act of love. It's how we impart what we believe, and we pour our, our hearts and our souls into what we make. We struggle over the big details and the small ones. It's not always easy. Sometimes whole years are hard. But we build because this is who we are. And the centerpiece of our vision for what we're building is Muse. [audience cheering] This is the personal agent that we shipped a few weeks ago that it's already helping millions of people with all kinds of different things.
And in the coming years, I expect that Muse is going to grow into the personal superintelligence that billions of people around the world are going to use to accomplish their goals and improve their lives. Now, I am really proud of the work that Nat and the whole team who worked on this did. [audience cheering] Nat is an absolute legend, for those of you who, uh, who haven't gotten the chance to, to work with him. And the team that's worked on this is one of the most talented that I have ever seen.
So, congratulations, and it's off to a great start. [audience cheering] The, uh, the basic architecture gives every Muse its own private and secure computer. The Muse secure VM is extremely advanced and is ahead of anyone else in the industry. The Muse Spark model is trained specifically to excel as a personal agent. There are so many fun and novel parts of this experience, from the ability to set your goals, to having Muse share its own ideas for how it can help you, uh, to having it research and generate its own custom feed for you, to that jolly and completely customizable character and personality.
Um, that little guy's name is Jolly, by the way. [chuckles] All right. The, uh-- Muse also has a novel business model. We believe that Muse will make you money, and we are standing behind this by making Muse free for a huge number of tokens with the expectation that over time, we will profit by taking a small fee from transactions. Now, in the first few weeks, it has been really exciting and, and has brought us a lot of joy to see all of the ways that people are using Muse.
So- In a moment, um, I'm going to hand it off to the one and only Alexander Wang to share more about this. But first, uh, let's look at a few examples of what's been happening. -My Muse's name is Lizzie. -Joey. -Chippy. -Boba. -Picky. -Grumpy. Poodles. Penelope Muse. Frank. [upbeat music] I asked Lizzie to analyze my entire website. It tracks flights for me. I had it plan my entire girls' trip to Ojai. I told Muse I wanted my daughter sleeping through the night, -and on day ten, she was. -So it turned endless hours of work into a -two-minute conversation. -I'm an independent music artist, so I used Muse to create my own team for my next single release.
I fed Muse my inspiration, and it built me a brand kit. It felt like my creativity finally had backup. [upbeat music] [applause] Hey, everyone. It was only about six months ago that having a personal agent running on your own computer was the sign of someone who is completely AI-pilled and thinking nonstop about agents. But for that small group of nerds, which probably included many of the people in this room, it looked like the beginning of personal super intelligence.
And today with Muse, we've brought that magic to everyone. Personal agents need their own secure computer, so Meta built one for every person who uses Muse. The Muse secure VM is yours. It's free, it's safe and secure, and this is how you make personal agents for everyone. The default Muse is this little guy. He's super cute, and you can also make your Muse totally yours. This product gets personal real fast, and people's imaginations are going wild customizing their own Muses.
Here's Euler, the super intelligent alter ego of my real-life dog. Now, Euler can go on walks, play fetch, and shop for me online using Stripe. [audience laughing] And on the internet, nobody knows he's a dog. [audience laughing] One of my favorite things to do since we've launched Muse is seeing how people are using it. Every day, I see something new. Just before I came up today, I saw somebody who broke their mother-in-law's favorite china set, then had Muse scour the internet, eBay, vintage sellers in Japan, everybody to try to find an exact match.
Found it, got it delivered, mother-in-law relationship saved. [audience laughing] One guy had Muse help plan a weekend away with his wife. A week later, Muse warned him that it would rain on the days that he booked, so Muse moved out the dates. Disaster avoided by Muse. It saved a bunch of people money on car and home insurance. It hunted out refunds they didn't even know were owed. One person had to negotiate with her cable company through their online customer support chat, and it knocked eighty-five dollars a month off the bill.
Muse has been saving real people real money. Meta knows what it's like when a product is in the early days of crazy growth, and this one is, scientifically speaking, a banger. [audience laughing] We just rolled it out in Canada, and more countries are coming soon, and it keeps getting better. We launched the Muse Mac app last week. Give it access, and it works across your files, messages, calendar, notes, and more. It has state-of-the-art dictation built in natively.
And big news today, we're adding computer use. [audience cheering] [laughs] Woo! [audience applauding] With your permission, Muse can now drive any app on your Mac. You can have it help you run your small business or just get work done for you. You can walk away from your computer, and it keeps working for you on all the jobs you've lined up. A lot of people wanted their Muse to have its own email address it can use to get things done for you.
That's something we're developing now, and it's also coming soon. You'll be able to add your Muse to an email thread or forward emails from Muse to handle on your behalf. Connectors are a big reason why Muse is able to do so much for people. We launched with a whole bunch of partners, like Spotify, OpenTable, Plaid, and Ticketmaster. And one of the great promises of e-commerce since the earliest days of the industry has been that it can save you money and time.
Personal agents are going to continue delivering on that promise for a new generation of shoppers, and they're going to help them discover products they love and get great deals, too. This is a really big focus for us, so we're building a bunch of deep partnerships with companies like Stripe and Shopify to enable a frontier shopping experience. Muse can access the entire Shopify product catalog agentically and use Link and now Shop Pay to buy almost anything on the internet.
And to help it be an even better shopper globally, we're adding more support for payments with PayPal. We've been talking to some of the world's largest retailers about the opportunity here, and the response has been amazing. So I'm very excited to announce today that Walmart, Best Buy, Gap, Sephora, Wayfair, and many more are integrated with Muse to enable new shopping experiences for their users. [audience cheering] [audience applauding] To help you plan your travel, we're adding a bunch of new connectors, including Expedia.
And anyone who grocery shops online is going to love this one. Instacart is coming to Muse. [audience cheering] [audience applauding] And for getting work done, there's Box, GitHub, Granola, and Notion, and many more coming very soon. [audience applauding] Woo! People want Muse to easily connect like this to any app or any business, not just big brands. So last week, we started to open up the connector platform so developers can build connectors on their own.
And in less than a week, we received over fifteen hundred applications with so many amazing names you all know and love. You can see some of them here. Uh, I think this could be a generational opportunity to start building for a new platform as it takes off, and the response so far has been really great. None of this would be possible without the frontier AI models we're training at MSL. We built them from the ground up to power personal superintelligence and be great at helping billions of people with what actually matters to them.
So throughout the model development cycle, we focus on things that will matter to people using Muse. We optimize for agentic behaviors, like remembering preferences and personalizing actions while maintaining continuity over time. Our researchers did a ton of work teaching agents how to choose the right tool for a job and how to chain actions across multiple apps and services while having the discretion to check back in with the user at the right times.
The result is that Muse Spark gets better at giving people what they need from their personal agent with every iteration. And pretty soon, we're dropping the most capable model we've ever trained. It's going to help our entire model family get smarter and more useful for everyone, including the models that power Muse. You'll hear more on that soon. And with that, I'll pass it back to Mark. -[cheering] [applause] -All right.
Thanks, Alex, and congrats. Really a ton of awesome progress in just a little more than a year. Um, all right. We have a whole room full of new glasses to show you today. -[cheering] [applause] -[chuckles] Each is a great-looking pair of glasses that gives you new superpowers, and each will be a new way for you to interact with your Muse as your personal agent across your whole life. Why glasses? So there are almost two billion people in the world who wear glasses today, many more if you count sunglasses, and we think that in the coming years, most of these are going to get upgraded to AI glasses.
We are excited about building other wearables too, uh, but we think that glasses are going to be the biggest category because, first of all, they already are, and second, they're the only form factor that lets you, uh, let your Muse see what you see, hear what you hear, talk to you throughout the day, and display information right in your vision eventually. So this focus on glasses, building them as primarily an AI device, this has been somewhat of, of an evolution for us over the last few years.
Because when we started building glasses, we thought at the time that the metaverse, this idea of bringing the physical and digital worlds together, we thought that that would come first and that advanced AI would come later. But now it is actually quite clear that personal superintelligence will not only come first, it will be much bigger and more important. So we have shifted our focus to building the best devices for personal superintelligence.
Now, if you're going to interact with Muse across your devices, you are going to need a great voice mode. And our teams at Meta Superintelligence Labs have gone really deep on this. So we built a voice mode that lets you design your Muse's voice to be just what you want. We trained a whole new state-of-the-art real-time model that creates joyful animations of your Muse as you're talking to it. The details here really, uh, make the experience.
So in, uh, the grand tradition of Connect, let's try a live demo. [cheering] -[applause] -Hey, cute toga. Cute? Right. -Let's get back to work, Mark. -[chuckles] All right. I'm here on stage at Connect. Uh, do you wanna introduce yourself to everyone? Hello, everyone. I'm Agrippa, and I'm here to brainstorm and get things done with you. What should we build? All right. So let's bring up that project charm that I was working on before to design this fun little device so I can carry you around on my keychain.
Uh, what's the next step on that? The hardware has been designed. You need to choose a final material for me to render in the lab, and then we plug your new real-time model in so you can visualize me on the device. All right. Uh, can you go ahead and send me some options for the finish? I sort of like that elevated hacker aesthetic that we've got with the semi-translucent glasses design, and maybe we can adapt one of those ideas.
And also, since now you're gonna be able to see through it, can you run a pass on rearranging the layout of some of the components to make it more aesthetically appealing? Working on sending you options now. All right. We'll come back to this later. -All right. One for one. [chuckles] -[cheering] [applause] All right. Most of you have probably used voice dictation before, um, or maybe you've even had a voice chat with an AI assistant.
But it, it does, it feels completely different when you're talking to an agent that is as smart as Muse. Uh, you can have a long, in-depth conversation with it, and it doesn't just ask you questions. It actually works in the background, uh, while you are talking to it. So, you know, last weekend, um, I was actually, I was talking to Agrippa about an idea that my daughter had for baking something together, and it was kind of a wacky, far-out idea, but it helped us invent a real new recipe, uh, while in the background it went and ordered all the ingredients from Instacart so we'd have them ready when we wanted to sit down and get started baking.
Now, you can make the, this, a whole experience a lot more personal by customizing your Muse's voice. You can just go ahead, describe what you want, faster, slower, uh, more Southern, more Australian, more pirate. I don't know, whatever you want. Um, so I figure it would be fun to... Let's, uh, let's hear a few of them. Howdy. Is this the rehearsal? They're all looking at us. Is my hair okay? Can everyone please be normal for five seconds?
Okay, okay. Let's all say hi at the same time. -One, two, three. -Hi. [audience applauds] All right. So talking to your Muse is, it's often the fastest way to get things done, um, and it is also just really fun and cute. So that is, uh, you know, being able to talk to it, it's one of the reasons why I'm working on that little handheld device that I was just talking to Agrippa about. But fortunately, we don't actually need to wait for that because we already have glasses.
And in the coming weeks, we are going to start upgrading the AI experience on Meta glasses so that instead of getting a single response to a question that you ask, you're now gonna be able to say, "Hey, Agrippa," or whatever your Muse's name is, and your Muse will be ready to talk with the full range of the voice capabilities that we just showed. Um, it's gonna have the full context from everything that you've been discussing, and it's gonna be able to do work for you in the background.
Live demo two. [audience applauds] All right. Hey, Agrippa. [chime sounds] Okay, can you find me time to sync with Boz on that little handheld Muse device? Because I, I'm gonna need him and Allen's design studio to 3D print some materials in the lab. I see 3:00 to 5:00 PM open on your calendar. Adding that now. Cool. Uh, can you make sure that the 3D printers and CNC machines are gonna be available then? For you, I'm sure they'll be open.
[audience laughs] That's the right answer. All right. [laughs] [audience applauds] All right. All right. Um, now, of course, Muse isn't just about building. Um, although I think a lot of more people are gonna find things that they wanna build now that it's so easy. A lot of people have other kinds of goals too. Um, and a lot of people's goals are around fitness. So we gave Muse to Nina Marie Daniele, an MMA creator who spends a lot of time around pro athletes, and she wanted to know what it's like to train like a pro fighter.
Uh, so Muse, on her Oakley Metas, helped her out. So check this out. [upbeat music] Hey, everyone. I'm using Muse for the next 30 days to help me train like a pro fighter. Oh, she's so cute. I'm gonna name her Drama -Queen. -All right, here's the plan for week one. Let's get to work. [upbeat music] Hey, Drama Queen. [chime sounds] Start my -guided workout. -Let's build cardio and speed. Do five intervals with one-minute rests.
One sprint down. Remember to breathe. Not a bad time, but I think we can beat it. Hey, Drama Queen. [chime sounds] What should I eat? Get the tempeh bowl. It's got 40 grams of protein and the macros you'll need for -tomorrow. -What's tomorrow? [upbeat music] [grunting] You're halfway through. Keep steady. [bell rings] Let's go easy today. Seems like you need the rest. Yeah, easy sounds good. [upbeat music] Hey, Drama Queen.
I think I'm ready to beat my baseline. [bell rings] [upbeat music] Thirty seconds left. Finish this interval strong. Woo. Hey, Drama Queen. [chime sounds] How'd I do? -Congrats. You crushed your previous time. -Woo! Think that was too easy. Raise the stakes. Mark, you coming to train for week two or what? [upbeat music] All right. [audience applauds] All right. It is, uh, it is really neat to see how quickly Muse can become a part of someone's daily life like this.
All right, switching gears a bit. Given how personal Muse and the content on your glasses is, we designed state-of-the-art privacy and security into all these systems from the beginning. We built the Muse Secure VM to keep your information, uh, on your own secure virtual machine. And soon, uh, we are also going to release the Muse Confidential VM so that even Meta won't be able to see that information. We have built several leading privacy features for glasses from the beginning as well, including the light that turns on any time that you save, you take a s- and save a, a photo or a video, and it disables capturing images and videos if the, if the light gets tampered with.
And now, we are taking the next step and we are building private processing for glasses. So this will soon allow you to use certain AI features inside a secure server where nobody, including Meta, can have access to your data. And this is built on the same technology that we use to keep the AI experiences inside WhatsApp private. So we're gonna start rolling this out soon for features like live translations that, you know, people are already using to translate entire sensitive conversations, and then we'll progressively roll it out to more and more features after that.
One of the things that people love about Meta Glasses is the audio. You get this really high-quality, open-ear sound system so you can, you can hear the sound coming from the glasses without losing the ability to hear what's going on around you. So one question that we have been a little obsessed with is, what if the glasses gave you the superpower to hear what is going on around you better? Now, I think that this is a really important problem because one in six American adults experience some form of hearing loss.
Uh, they often don't do anything about it. Hearing aids can be bulky and expensive, and a lot of people I know just don't wanna wear them. So last year, we took the first step and released Conversation Focus, which lets anyone use their glasses to amplify the voice of the person who they're talking to in a noisy environment. We got a lot of great feedback on that. So now I am really proud that we are releasing something that goes much further.
Hearing Enhancement turns your glasses into an FDA-cleared, over-the-counter hearing aid that can compensate for perceived mild to moderate hearing loss. [cheering] -[applause] -And as we tested this out, it became really clear that this had the potential to be life-changing for a lot of people. So we want to share one of those stories today. [instrumental music] I've been experiencing some hearing loss. For me, it's been gradual.
My name is Lindsay Jones. I am a fashion designer. I work in a very fast-paced environment. Sometimes there's many voices in the room, and I need to dial in and really hear what's being said. I notice it mostly in my left ear. [traffic whooshing] When there is background noise, I often cannot hear maybe every third or fourth word in a conversation. The Hearing Enhancement feature on these glasses can bring me into the present moment.
[birds chirping] Time with my kids is so major for me. Hearing what they have to say is so maj- Oh, no. [crying] I'm not gonna cry. I just don't want, um, to, like, miss that growing up process with my kids. [people chattering] Last night, I had them on, and I could hear my best friend telling a very poetic story. And instead of just seeing her, I can kind of bring in more sound in the left ear and be part of that moment in her life.
I mean, I think that level of connection is really moving. I can only hope for, like, life to get better and better, really. [cheering] -[applause] -Lindsay is actually here with us today, so I wanna thank you for telling your story. It is an honor to be able to build products for -you, so thank you. -[cheering] [applause] All right, so now instead of spending thousands of dollars on a hearing aid, people can just add the Hearing Enhancement option to Meta Glasses for a fraction of the price.
Um, you don't need to visit a clinic or go through the whole process. You just take a guided assessment using our glasses, um, in the app, and then you can get your amplification tuned to your specific hearing loss. Um, Hearing Enhancement is coming first to Meta Glasses, and like all of our software features, we're gonna roll it out more broadly soon. But overall, um, I think that this is a really big deal, and I, I am, I'm really proud of our team for pulling this off.
This is quite a technical achievement, and I think it's gonna matter a lot to a lot of people. So thank you, guys. -[cheering] [applause] -All right, so that brings us to this room full of new glasses behind us. So let's, uh, let's go to this. All right. Once you get used to high-quality audio, open-ear audio, y- it's just a thing that you want all the time, right? You can... You know, your calls sound more natural. Your music sounds more personal.
Um, unlike earbuds, it doesn't block you off from the world around you. So we thought about this, and we worked on it for a while, um, and we realized that we could actually design a whole new category of glasses around this, -audio glasses. -[cheering] So without cameras, this opens up a lot of new design possibilities. They can look like any other glasses. You can make them much lighter and slimmer. They have the longest battery of any of our glasses.
They're gonna last for a full day of use, whether that's, you know, using Muse throughout the day or listening to music or making calls. Audio glasses not only let us ship the thinnest pair of Ray-Ban Metas that we have ever shipped, we've also been able to refactor the electronics to support new styles like the iconic Ray-Ban Clubmaster. -[cheering] [applause] -So style is important because if you're gonna be wearing glasses all day long, our mantra is they have to be great glasses first.
So before we even talk about any technology, the design needs to be glasses that you wanna wear. So unlike phones and laptops, people want different glasses because glasses are fashion. So your glasses need to match your own sense of style. They need to look and feel great on your face, and every face is a little bit different. So we've been working with our partners at EssilorLuxottica to design the right pair of glasses for everyone.
And beyond audio glasses, today we are also updating our entire lineup with Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3. -[cheering] [applause] -That's this. So we've slimmed down the frame and temples further. We added adjustable temple tips to make them more comfortable for a range of faces. Uh, we've also added a whole lot more technology to these. The, the battery keeps getting better. Uh, there are new capture modes. One feature that, um, that I think is just magical to experience is the Dolby Atmos spatial audio capture.
You know, you can now, you can capture a video and when you play it back, the audio sounds like it is coming from wherever in the room those original sounds were. And it, it really makes you feel like you're there again. And unfortunately, it's very hard to, to kind of demo this type of thing in a, in a room like this, but, uh, but you'll all get a chance to, to check it out later after this. Um, the microphones also got an update.
There are now six microphones that can capture your voice in crystal clear, even in super noisy environments, like when you happen to be taking a call on a jet ski. -Who would do that? -[laughing] You can. It works in a wind tunnel. It's because the, uh, the microphones are here. They're not in your ear like, like earbuds. All right. We are also adding two more iconic models to the family, including for the first time, the iconic -Aviator- -[cheering] [applause] ... and Zena.
And to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Aviator, we are actually shipping a limited launch edition with the classic vintage look. So... -[cheering] [applause] -This June, uh, we launched our first line of Meta glasses that we designed with dozens of different combinations of colors and styles. Today, uh, we are going to expand this lineup to fifty-one different style combinations, including for the first time ever, you are going to be able to get the adventurer style -starting at just two forty-nine. -[cheering] [applause] So this is one of our most popular styles of Meta glasses, and we have been really hard at work to make this accessible to a lot more people, so I think that this is gonna be a big deal.
All right, there are also two new frame shapes. We got Capri. It is a stylish cat eye. And we've got Nova, which is a classical pantos. Uh, and we also have a new ivory colorway from Kylie. -[cheering] [applause] -Working with Kylie has been great and a lot of fun, by the way. She had a lot of awesome designs that she put into her glasses. It was really cool to get a chance to work with her on this. Um, and today, I- I'm, I'm excited to share another collab, um, that we have been working on, which is a new edition of Meta glasses from the one and only Lisa. -[cheering] [applause] -So everything here, uh, comes from, from Lisa's world.
Uh, she helped design this custom case. Uh, we, we have Lisa's star on the temple tips. Every pair, um, comes with a surprise charm that is inspired by one of her pets. Um, the glasses also unlock new features in, uh, in the apps. There's the Lisa World design, and, um, we also designed a Lisa World lens for virtual try-ons for her glasses. But, um, now I figured let's, let's, uh, take a moment to hear from Lisa herself.
Hi, Mark, and hi everyone at Connect. I wish I could be there in person today, but I'm in rehearsals right now. Um, I'm so excited about launching my new glasses in collaboration with Meta. I've always wanted to design something like this, so thank you so much for this opportunity. Um, this collection comes from, um, my personal stories and experiences, so there are two pairs to choose from. They also come with charms, which were inspired by my own pets, so I hope you can collect them and decorate them with the case.
Um, I can't wait to share these glasses with my fans in LA next week, so I'll see you there. Bye. -All right. -[applause] All right. Um, I'm excited about those. I think a lot of people are gonna like those. All right, we have, we've also got an update for you on the Meta Ray-Ban display glasses. Um, these were the first glasses that we shipped that come with full-color, high-resolution displays and, for the first time ever, the Meta neural band, um, for natural interaction.
Uh, we introduced these last year at Connect. They've been in extremely short supply since, um, and sold out for most of the year. Uh, but we are finally catching up with demand, so now they're going to be available for sale online at meta.com, and we are also, for the first time, I think, going to start rolling them out internationally. So we're excited to get these in more people's hands. [applause] All right. So overall, um, by the end of the year, we're gonna have more than a hundred different styles of glasses available.
So there is a pair of glasses for everyone. Um, you can get the display glasses with the neural band to explore the future of computing. Now there are ultra-light audio glasses with all-day battery. Uh, you can choose from some of the most iconic looks from Ray-Ban and Oakley, including now the Clubmaster and Aviator. And there is a range of great-looking Meta glasses for everyone. More than a hundred styles. Really excited about this.
[applause] All right. But there is one more pair of glasses I wanna show you. [applause] So I mentioned earlier that Reality Labs is now focused on building great glasses for muse and AI. And we made the decision to focus a little bit less on metaverse for now, you know, build fewer VR devices and only release them when we have real breakthroughs. [laughter] This is a breakthrough. This is a breakthrough. All right. Now, a lot of people agree that augmented reality glasses with holograms are clearly gonna be part of the future.
But we've also heard that a lot of people are less interested in wearing a, you know, a headset. So we have built a new kind of VR device that delivers the same magical feeling of presence and immersion with high-resolution displays and views of the world around you in a form factor that is a pair of glasses for the first time ever. [applause] And as a matter of fact, the form factor is so small that you probably didn't realize that it has been sitting here with the rest of our glasses in plain sight the whole time.
[applause] Here it is. [applause] Meta VR glasses. [applause] Meta VR glasses weigh about a hundred grams on your face. That is less than one-fifth the weight of Meta Quest 3, which is already much lighter than Vision Pro. [applause] To put it in perspective, a hundred grams is about the weight of a deck of cards. This is enabled by our split architecture. So it has the best display system that we have ever made. It is the result of more than a decade of work.
The colors are richer. The blacks are deeper. And whenever we show this to people, it's the display and the quality of that is what jumps out, because they just can't believe that something this thin and light can have such a good display. -So let's check it out. -So I start here, right? -Yep. Press the action button. -Okay. -Holy mother of God. -Oh, that's very cool. [laughs] -I really like the design. -It's light. What's, like, the weight on -this? -A hundred grams.
Fantastic detail. You can see every skin pore, right? These optics did a great job of rejecting ambient reflections. Wow. Wow, that's way out there. Look at that. I'm very aware that I'm still sitting in this room with you, yet I have something that is entirely immersive in -front of me. -Oh. -Ooh. Oh, it's like you courtside. -Wow, I never noticed you switched out on -Jalen Brunson on that play. -Even if you're there, you don't have this -view. -This camera angle right here is insane.
You're, like, essentially on the mat inside the Oculus. Oh. Look at the form factor. Look at the lightness. I think it's cinema anywhere. Wow, I'm seeing things I never noticed before. You could edit a whole movie just -using the table. [laughs] -Oh, man, it is like a computer. To have, like, a two or three-monitor experience while you're able to be, like, -on the go is so incredible. -Whoa, whoa, whoa. This supports DisplayPort over USB-C.
There's a lot of people who have been asking for that for a -very long time. -Yeah. Yeah. Wow. Oh my God, stop. And with the hand occlusion? It's rare that you feel something that feels like such, like, a quantum leap over what else you've experienced in the market. How do you think of something like this? Like, how do you even think of something -like this? -I think y'all figured it out with this -one. -Oh my God, this is, like, the dream.
I'm inspired by, you know, what you've created. I'd like to see my work in these glasses. [cheering] Uh, it's, it's been really awesome showing this to, to people as we've been building this. Um, there are a lot of reactions that we've seen. Like, it never gets old. It never gets old. Um, Meta VR glasses are built for Muse, too. So, this is the first time that we have integrated an AI agent directly into the operating system.
So now, instead of navigating through layers of menus, you just talk to it and say what you need. Every interaction can be done with a combination of your eyes, your hands, and your voice. You just look at something. You can use a small hand gesture to control it. You can do it with little finger movements. When you wanna get work done, you can turn any flat surface into a really good keyboard and trackpad. We've all gotten quite fast at typing on it.
I think Boz is over 100 words per minute now, although I think the record is, um, our CFO, Susan, got to 120 words per minute. All right. So, Meta VR glasses. You've got a private cinema, a computer with multiple monitors, and a game console in a pair of glasses for the first time ever. [cheering] And because we like live demos- -[laughs] -... let's hand it over to the ever -prolific Boz- -[cheering] ... to show this in a bit more detail.
Thank you, Mark. Uh, it's a pretty good way to watch a keynote, uh, I will say. But of course, uh, watching keynotes isn't what this display was built for. This display was built for cinema. This is the first ever IMAX Enhanced certified VR device. Supports spatial audio with Dolby, uh, Atmos, as well as Dolby Vision. Bring up National Geographic. Now, you'll notice I pressed the, uh, action button instead of using a wake word.
That's 'cause I said the wake word, uh, last year, and I woke up every device in the building, -so I'm not doing that again. -[laughs] Uh, now this is one where, as Mark said earlier about spatial audio... Oh my goodness. Uh, it's, it's not the same for you. You guys are seeing a representation of what I'm seeing, but for me, this is immersive. This line is all up in my business. Um, this is, this is, this is not just around me.
It is in three dimensions for me, uh, and that is, I mean, it's very powerful. You could take this with you anywhere. You could take it when you travel. You're on the plane, you're in a hotel. Take it to a dorm room. Any place you wanna have a private big screen, it's right here for you. And that would be enough, but of course, that's not all. Bring up my workspace. We also made this a great computer. As Mark said, you can control the whole thing with your hands and your voice, and we've integrated an assistant right here at the operating system level.
This guy is mine. His name is Cooper. He is a test pilot. [beep] Hey, Cooper, you're on stage. Why don't you give the people a wave? -[beep] -[laughs] Isn't he adorable? Now, as Mark said, you can use any flat surface, uh, for surface typing and, and your keyboard and mouse. I don't happen to have a flat surface, so I'm gonna make Cooper do the work for me. [beep] Cooper, can you grab those schematics Mark just sent over and merge them with the latest hardware rev from last night?
And then render the whole thing in that material that we used for the fashion collab last year. And then you better grab an hour of my calendar tomorrow so I can prepare for that meeting with Mark. Uh, and then keep an eye on that auction for that camera lens we talked about. I wanna know if that moves. Got it. Update schematics, merge hardware, render materials, block calendar, track auction. I'm on it. The beauty of having someone at the system level is that he's not just able to do work for me.
He can also work and does... and control the system itself. And I can... While he's doing all this work, you can see he's moving on it, I can do more fun things. [beep] Bring up Beat Saber Flux. [beep] All right. Now, we're about to a- attempt something relatively dangerous here, which is I'm going to attempt to play a video game in front of an audience. -[laughs] -[upbeat music] I think I deserve a little credit for this.
All right, so listen. Some people give keynotes on easy mode. I want y'all to know I'm giving a keynote on hard mode. Um, actually, this is medium line. This is one of 75 hands-only titles that are gonna launch with the device, and I actually honestly cannot keep doing this and keeping my score up and playing the game. So, we're gonna take that off real quick. -[cheering] -[chuckles] Thank you. Thank you. Very impressive, I'm sure.
Uh, all of this to say VR gaming is alive and well on Meta VR glasses. -[cheering] -Not only do we have that hands-first title, the most popular VR game of all times, we also support the entire Quest library with optional attached controllers, in addition, of course, to hundreds of titles you can stream on Xbox Cloud Gaming. [cheering] And that's not all. For entertainment, the lineup is unlike anything else out there.
Directors like James Cameron and Hollywood studios like Lionsgate are bringing a new wave of 3D ci- Yeah, give -it up for James Cameron. I don't know. -[cheering] I don't get to... I don't get to do that very often, so I'm gonna go ahead. -[laughs] -Uh, uh, later this year, in select countries, we're gonna launch the Disney+ app, which will show you some of your favorite films and new releases in 3D. And the new Disney Immersive Cinema by ILM app will have VR-enhanced movies like Marvel Studios' "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Star Wars: A New Hope" from Lucasfilm.
There'll be new 3D experiments- experiences from Peacock, Paramount+, HBO Max, and you'll get 2D streaming apps from YouTube, Prime Video, Crunchyroll, and more. [audience whistling] It's pretty good. Yeah, we can clap. -[audience clapping] -I'm gonna bring that same energy to sports. You can get the best of 2D and a ton of new immersive options. Now, we all know the difference between watching a game live and watching it on TV.
Well, with VR glasses, you can do both. All the subscription services that you already love will be available, so you can choose to watch games like you do already. But in addition, there's gonna be more than a hundred immersive events every year that you can experience live, just like you're at the game. You can even choose where you sit. We've worked with ESPN to give you front row, 180-degree views to a selection of live games at no extra cost.
This all starts with college football this fall on Quest, and there'll be more to come next year. There's also live events from Major League Baseball, UFC, TNT Sports, and NBC Sports. Now, so far, we've shown you all the ways that these VR glasses can deliver better versions of things you already love, like gaming, sports, and entertainment. They also open up a new class of experiences at the intersection of wearable spatial computing and personal agents.
Our teams have been exploring how agents can use mixed reality to augment your world and guide you through things. For example, they built this demo that allows you... that coaches you on how to play Mahjong turn by turn. This is something that I assure you is best done visually and not with somebody -trying to describe it to you. -[laughs] By giving the spatial computer, uh, to your personal agent, you unlock new superpowers for your agent that can help you as you go about and do things in the world.
And you can do all of this socially with hologram calling. As you saw earlier when I called Mark, you'll be able to call people and appear as a photorealistic hologram. And for the first time in VR, these are full-body holograms. [audience laughing] -Yes, I- -[audience cheering] I know. We have finally solved the truly very hard problem of giving you legs in -VR. -[laughs] Now, we're bringing these holograms to Meta Ray-Ban display glasses as well.
So soon, you'll be able to join video calls from your display glasses and appear exactly how you want, no matter where you are or what you're doing. So that's it. You get a private cinema, a game console, and a computer, and they all come in the sexiest pair of VR glasses you've ever seen. -[audience cheering] -Back to you, Mark. All right. Thanks, Boz. Congrats on everything we're shipping today. Um, this has been quite a haul.
All right, I think, um, as cool as this looks, I, I think you're actually gonna be even more impressed when you get a chance to, to try it out. Uh, but there it is, a private cinema, a computer with multiple monitors, and a game console in a pair of glasses for the first time ever. There's really nothing else like this. It is a glimpse of the future. [audience cheering] -[audience clapping] -We're gonna ship it in the spring, give people plenty of time to get their content ready for it, and it's gonna cost 1,299.
[audience cheering] -[audience clapping] -All right. We just went through a lot of products. Um, -I've got one more to show you. -[audience cheering] Because, um, that little handheld thing [laughs] that I was working on, it's, um, -it's actually real. [laughs] -[audience cheering] Um, we packed the whole Muse experience, including the whole real-time voice and avatar stack, into something that fits on a keychain [laughs] and is always available to talk to you.
You just, uh, go ahead and tap here in the fingerprint sensor in the corner, and you can start talking without having to unlock a phone or open an app. So we've packed a lot of technology into this little guy. So if you're not wearing glasses, this is going to be by far the fastest way to talk to your Muse and to show it what's going on around you. Um, we've actually only built a few of these so far. It's, it's been absolutely joyful to play with so far.
Um, we, we actually do still need to finish the, the fi- the, um, finalize the finishing material, so maybe I'll, I'll look at what, uh, what Agrippa and the team have put together after this. Um, and we do also need to finalize laying out the components. But we are planning to have this ready to ship, uh, in time for the holidays in December. [audience cheering] -[audience clapping] -So I think that people are gonna love this.
Um, we are calling it, by the way, we are calling it Muse Charm. -[audience cheering] [audience clapping] -And we are gonna have more details to share on, on this one soon. All right, um, that's what we've got for you today. [audience cheering] -[audience clapping] -Stay optimistic out there. The path to a great future for everyone is putting superpowers in everyone's hands to accomplish more than we ever could before.
We are going to do that together. I can't wait to see how you use all of this to improve your lives and shape the future. Have a good night. [audience cheering] [upbeat music]
