I Paid for Every Hinge Upgrade — Only This Was Worth It transcript

So, I paid for every Hinge upgrade, including the boosts and the subscriptions and the roses, and I'm just going to share with you my results on them for what's best in terms of cost per match. But, really quickly here, I want to show you something that's kind of crazy. Despite mainly using my account for um tests for the channel, which happens to butcher my match rate a little bit, uh I still get 11 matches per week when I'm paying for Hinge Plus or Hinge X.

That's crazy. That's crazy. And like, compared to the free version, it's just 1.2. Which is calculating time I'm not using the app, but still. Like, I feel like a lot of guys miss this um even when they're paying for them, they're just not sending out enough likes. And this is and averaging 37 likes per day. Yeah, it just puts it into perspective. And by the way, if you're new to my videos or channel, uh this is hinge audit.com, and I actually added a new feature here.

We can select a date, so you can hopefully see your match rate improve as you make changes. But, let's get to the point of the video. First thing is roses. 50 of them cost me $111 Canadian, and it got me five matches. That's $22 per match. Not worth the cost for me. Next are boosts. Three of the 1-hour boost came to 14.60 per match, and one 24-hour boost came to 8.80. And going back to the subscriptions, which I was sending 30 to 40 likes per day on them, like that does take more time than just buying a boost, turning it on.

Uh but, Hinge Plus is $45 per month. Gave me 28 matches after I subtract the amount of free ones I would have usually got, that comes to 2.25 per match. That's like way better than the $22 match for the roses. So, yeah, for me, the value is clear. It's way better for the subscriptions. I did run the tests on the boost like 6 months ago, so maybe they're better now. And I know Jesse, if you're watching this, he actually likes the boost more.

For whatever reason, the subscriptions don't work as well as them. But, for me, it's very clear Hinge X is the best one. Um but there is some other important things here I want to bring up. So, first, I ran a poll and about a third of you are using a subscription. So, if you're not already, a lot of your competition is. And there's some real data on this, too. 41% of users 30 and older said they have paid to use these platforms compared to just 22% of those under 30.

So, if you're old like me, um it gets even more competitive. Secondly, if you are going to scale your list, if you're going to start swiping a lot more or liking a lot profiles, you should still be intentional with it. So, get the Hinge Signals badge, I send the odd comment, follow up after matching, scroll down on profiles. All these things Hinge has straight-up said that they like it. You don't want to get on Hinge's bad side.

You don't want to just spam these likes out cuz you're not going to get shown as much. But there's something else I want to talk about, too. So, I know of a guy who's currently paying two grand per month for Hinge. He said he's he buys everything, but it's primarily on Hinge roses. Um like he makes good money, so it's not like some super super big hit. But he said that he just basically wants to maximize, you know, meeting and dating the most attractive woman possible.

Like just being really su- superficial, not caring about looks or not caring about personality. How can he just get the most attractive woman possible? And this is what he's doing. And like I can kind of see that angle. Like he's using the Hinge Standouts. If you don't know, um you probably know if you've used Hinge, there's a section called Standouts. The CEO of Hinge said this is profiles that you would really like, but that ones wouldn't necessarily like you back.

Um but the thing is when you send a rose, you they get a notification on their phone. And when they open the app, a little screen pops up saying that so-and-so liked them. So, there's a high likelihood that when you send one, that somebody's actually going to look at your profile. You're basically buying exposure. So, if a seven out of I'm not saying he's a seven. He doesn't even watch my videos, I'm pretty sure. Um but if if a guy were to be a seven out of 10 and were to send like a thousand roses to nines and 10s, like that level of scale and exposure, he's probably going to get some matches.

And if he did this for months, like yeah, he's probably going to get some dates. And I think this is what he's going for, and I just kind of opened my eyes that people are using it like this. Like there's a whole tier to win that I didn't even know that exists. I mean, I I think it's just easier to just, you know, working yourself and your appearance and everything and that's a lot cheaper anyways. Uh but yeah, it's kind of like a video game in a way.

You know how there's like whales with microtransactions that a lot of the revenue comes from just like the select few which are just paying crazy amounts. I don't know if that's how it is for Hinge, uh but kind of reminds me of that. But anyways, uh yeah, Hinge X definitely better for me. If you don't know the difference between Hinge Plus and Hinge X, here's a table from their site. The main thing is that seeing more of the people that you like sooner, so you see more of your type and as well as Hinge X also boosts your profile a little bit at all times.

I think Hinge they should totally pay me. I'm encouraging so many people to pay for on Hinge. I should totally get a kickback from them. Um but yeah, main thing is that it is a multiplier. All these subscriptions are multiplier. If you, you know, aren't getting matches at any number times zero is still zero. So, you want to get at least some matches before you start buying it. So, keep working on your profile till then.
