Surviving Snow Blizzard: Winter Camping with Dog in Huge Inflatable Tent transcript

here it goes uhoh look at those clouds oh it's horrible out [] there because I just do not see how it's going to be possible to pack this down now you can really really see it welcome back everybody to another camping with Tony and Bruno Bruno here hello we're going up the mountain again hello my lovely and uh this time we're going to do a bit differently we know that there's a big storm coming in huge storm it's very warm at the moment 26° Centigrade um no Bruno back back back stay back there good boy um I'm sorry the camera is getting thrown around this is a rough road and I'm climbing it's why I sound the way I do massive storm coming in the conditions at the top right now very very windy I'm inan shorts and t-shirt cuz it's so warm we'll see what the temperature is up the top but super windy gale force winds I've got a massive tent with me to test I don't know if it can cope we'll see it's a family tent I don't think it's designed for these conditions but this is New Zealand and it's a New Zealand design tent so you would think maybe they've designed it to cope we will see all very exciting all right we're climbing up the mountain we're going to be up we're going to get up to the top again I might find a different area than last time where we did it in the blizzard we have got snow coming I think um so we might have another blizzard tonight late I might find a different spot still high though at 1700 M uh which is what almost 6,000 ft so I bring you back uh when we're on the main section uh of the steepest part going up that's a sheer drop down don't want to fall off the edge there it's a constant climb it's so steep I would put the Drone out but it's way too windy that's where we're going right up there okay we're pretty much above the tree line now the wind is howling up [] here wow what a view look at that view amazing wow looks so different when you can actually [] see oh man oh we're heading all the way over there to the left hand the camera left for you look at Bruno he's he's so excited he whimpered when he realized where we were going cuz he had such a great time up here last time he'd probably rather get out and run alongside but I'm not going to let him do that hello my lovely all right go back Bruno back you're actually leaning on me okay so we're at 1,285 M so we've still got another almost uh 500 M to climb 450 Bruno go back go back go back Bruno back distracting me come on go back good boy go back all right good boy yeah so about 400 m to climb so that's still quite away if you think about it it's over 1,000 ft still to go these red poles are snow markers is so you can see where the track is if there's deep [] snow there's the summit okay we need to find a spot to set up camp not on the ridge like this cuz the wind would come howling over the top here but just at this spot here maybe that might work so we'll got to the summit we'll come back back maybe to that spot there so we'll be camping just below the [] summit cuz I know how strong the wind is on the summit from last Camp it's brutal oh yeah the wind oh my God we got to walk around just to let you witness and feel what the wind's like so it's 18° centigrade and I don't know what the wind chill is but I might have to put a jacket on oh it's so pretty so pretty all right let's have a look around look around wow okay come on Bruno let's have a look around well you've been here before so you know where you're going all right so the wind is coming from the south which is directly in front there it's coming straight out of [] Southwest so whatever we do the back of the tent has to face that [] way man is brutalo but look at the view look at that view snow on the mountain there Bruno having a pee man oh my God that wind I'm definitely going to have to put a jacket on I am wearing shorts as well check it out I hope you can hear me over this wind it's so strong so that's the sea over there and there's the north island of New Zealand all the way over there and then there's the malra Sounds in the back ground and that's malor it's blenham see the wow River in the background Mount patriarch where I've camped a couple of [] times stunning and that's cloudy Bay not the vineyard it's called cloudy Bay cuz the water is cloudy after it rains yeah that's the north island of New Zealand all the way over there you can just make out the Peaks all right I'm going to find a camp spot and I'll bring you back because it's flipping windy isn't it Bruno we're not going to be camping on this side of the Hill that's for sure we need to camp on the other side so I'll bring you back got to move the truck put Bruno back in here okay I found a spot it's crazy out there crazy but the wind is Shifting so it's going to be it's westerly's right now which is coming from just behind us and then southernly uh coming tonight really bad suddenly which is going to come from over there so I want to be facing the tent that way oh you know sort of halfway but facing completely other way um the truck will act as a bit of a Windbreak while I set it up but um not much this is going to be hard really hard I'm going to have to go onto the wireless microphone for this because you won't be able to hear a thing out there uh I've got to make sure that the wind doesn't blow my tripod over um I might have to hang a counterweight on it this is going to be very very difficult filming conditions because it's almost gale force out there uh we do this just for YouTube do not do this okay I'm going to test this tent see how it does but don't do this yourself all right everyone I'll bring you back outside okay welcome back everybody oh my word it is howling howling this is the windiest I will have second windiest probably I have ever set up in absolutely brutal okay we got to get Bruno out give him his treat and then let's get this tent set up this is going to be a mission I've got to watch the camera I can't get too far away from it cuz I don't know if you can tell it's moving okay let's get Bruno out come on Bruno howd you get good boy okay get him as treat uh and then let's get this done oh I don't know how I'm going to do this I don't know how I'm going to stop the camera from falling over but let's get on with it so I'm going to have to put the camera at very dis weird places because I've got to use the truck as a Windbreak to film I've got no choice it's just way too windy as I say it's gale force winds now everything's going to go flying out of here if I open more than one door at a time so can't do that hey Bruno usually I make him sit pretty look at the I don't think he could even if he wanted to so I'm just going to give him his treat look it's blowing him over there you go come on then come on do you want it drink your treat good boy okay so today I've got the massive zire Pro tmv2 t with me it's huge is it going to cope with these conditions I hope so I really do I've just got to move some big rocks out the way and then we can put the tent down because the tent is massive so just moving these sharper ones out the way the flat ones should be okay so I want the front facing that way uh so I'm going to come straight across here uh I might have to move the truck I might have to move the truck just to get the uh the tent blown up cuz I've got the pump the special pump that plugs into the side and that needs 12 volt so we'll see but right now I need to get the tent out I need to Peg it down so first I got to get my big pegs ready cuz the tent's going to go flying and then Peg it down in that direction and in case you're wondering in case you're wondering where Bruno is he's now lying down in front of the truck he's not that stupid okay let's do this okay so if I suddenly make a dash for it I've got to grab the camera I've got to keep an eye on it cuz this thing will just smash on the ground all right pegs whoa there you go it went I knew it would doesn't matter how much I weigh this thing down it's just it wants to go the wind is that strong all right I got my pegs keep an eye on the camera now you might ask yourself why on Earth would anyone camp in these conditions I ask myself that all the time okay tent which is huge there it is and it's a beast all right let's get this bad boy out I told you it's massive okay so we're going to set it up uh West South so we're going to set it up straight out that way so I'm going to get it out start pegging it down this is going to be a mission a really big mission whoa there it goes again okay I've kind of vancu the camera down but who knows it's so bright I can't see anything and I just don't know what's happening okay now as soon as I open this thing up everything's going to want to go flying so it's important to stake out the back really quickly okay so straight out that way now this is brand new and it's a brand new tent so it's probably full of paper wow close that it's probably full of paper cuz they they wrap it in this [] paper holy moly I don't even know if you can hear me now I'm using my own pegs cuz my pegs are designed to go through Rock the ones that come with this won't be there's a possibility we're going to lose this tent so thank you zempire for sending it to me and I apologize in advance if I destroy it so it comes with pegs and spare valves and a valve tool whoa and there's the pole oh my God I just can't describe this the wind all right now see paper [Music] everywhere I wish they wouldn't do this but it's cuz it's got PVC Windows uh I don't know where the back is a note to all tent manufacturers right down where the back is okay I think uh this must be the front here the door okay oh I got it wrong that's the door turn it round imagine if it was raining as well okay grab the paper [Music] out wow unbelievable excuse the ass shot woo and this is why I bring my own pegs I'm exhausted already holy moly ah there's just no way oh no I've lost a piece of paper Bruno's gone running after it oh no well it's paper it's biodegradable okay hopefully Bruno comes back Bruno Bruno I'm not going to go after him there he'll come back okay just got to keep working Pete keep picking it down hello Bruno [] will this tent survive I just don't [] know [] oh man more pegs okay this could be the worst night I've ever had camping and we haven't even got there yet [] holy moly I don't know [] man I mean obviously I could have just camped right by that building but I want to test the tent in gForce winds and see how it does I mean it's blowing me over and the infl the inflation point is on the other side so I'm facing the wrong way I'm going to have to move the truck around and park it over there cuz the cable doesn't reach it's not long enough on the pump they made the pump Too Short the cable all right just need to catch my breath for a minute okay let's pump this up okay turn the truck around we can now the camera is on the lewood side behind uh the truck so look if I stand here just behind the truck it's all nice and calm it's lovely I I step out to here and it's it's just howling the wind is so violent it's unbelievable if this tent survives all credit to zempire if it fails it's not not their fault at all and if it fails I guess we're sleeping in the truck tonight be cozy okay let's pump this thing up so the tent comes with a normal hand pump but we're going to use a battery operated pump well 12vt and I hope it works oh man I've put all the pegs in the only thing I then have to do is Guy the whole thing out I just want to pick up pieces of paper as I see them because I don't want them blowing all over the place all right let's do this I've set it to 9 PSI here we go so it's one the difference between this one and the one before it is there's a single inflation point you don't need to go and do all of them you got Taps on each one but there's one main inflation Point saves a lot of time and there's a ridge that runs right through the middle for Extra Strength well we'll test that now so I'm looking for this this to get to 9 PSI could take some time so we'll fast [] forward [] okay it's almost there and then I've got to lock the valves and gu it down that's impressive so we're going for 9 PSI and then I think I'll park the truck behind the tent to act as a windbreake holy moly so this thing will cut off automatically at 9 PSI there you go okay first thing I to do is go in and close all the valves okay so you close all these valves just to make sure they stay locked in and you don't lose any air from all of them so we're sealing them off wow it's blowing so strong good Lord okay right now I've got to go and Guy it all out so what I'll do is I'll bring you back when I finish guying it out cuz I've just got to get on with this now oh my God hang on wow oh holy moly the wind it's unbelievable but look the tent is up and it has been taking an absolute pounding hello Bruno I've got to get Bruno some water so let's get his water bowl out must be thirsty here you go let's put that there um the tent is just wow I tell you a pole tent normal pole tent would have buckled and snapped by now this thing has been just it's relentless the wind is unbelievable look at that and it's holding W it just wants to collapse in the back there look par the truck to try and block it wa oh no uh-oh there he goes it's going to take my camera with it it buckled will it pop back up oh it just popped straight back up good oh man that was strong that just came from a completely different direction wow well look it buckled it bent but it's designed to if there had been normal poles they would have either snapped or just bent see look it's just just wants to buckle here I mean we're talking gale force winds here Bruno Bruno is having such a great time oh man he's been playing like crazy H wow is it going to buckle again it might do anyway need to get my stuff inside oh hang [Music] on Wow is this the most stressful setup ever look at the pounding this thing is taking she said look at it you honestly just being in the lewood side here and it's nice and calm you can't you can't tell just how strong this wind is and it's changing direction here it goes again here it goes [Music] uh-oh H uh-oh will it pop back up all by itself I'm not convinced I think I should go in [Music] there oh it did I didn't even touch it the wind just stopped for a second it popped all way the way back up I wonder if I should inflate it some more maybe put one more PSI in it I don't know I don't want to blow the tubes they're pretty Rock Solid already at 9 PSI here it goes again oh man it's just it keeps buckling at these two points here but then it just pops up all by itself I'm not touching it so ah what do I do I don't think there's any way to stop that happening unless unless I was to bring the truck here and guide these top points to the truck up high it's just that the wind is changing direction now it's coming straight at us but it it it's meant to come from over there whoa see it's changing again all right oh my God okay oh let's go in oh I don't know what I can do to stop that buckling just at that point um bearing in mind look at what I'm putting it through it's pretty ridiculous hello Bruno hello tail he's happy ah this I'm sure this was not designed to be in these conditions all right I got to bring all my stuff in uh and then I'll bring you back and then we'll sit in here here it goes there it goes those two points there again huh oh well okay it's going to go again but this Center Ridge makes it much much stronger than the other one the one before I don't think that one would have stood this at all so we're talking about gusts of 60 km an hour and it's it's holding it is holding it does pop back up I can't explain just how solid these these beams are what I don't want is something to rip all right I'm going to bring all my stuff and I'll bring you back okay welcome back everybody without doubt I'd say one of the hardest camps I've had to set up that wind was brutal I sold Well for now I hope I hope I've sold it that the problem of these collapsing in I put the guy lines at full length full reach and so and then just tightened them like that instead of using the manual things to tighten them so now uh they don't seem to be bending now you'll see it is lopsided because all the wind is pushing on this side you know if if it was blowing the other way then it would stand upright but it's not going to uh just because I could I could pull those edges in a bit but to be honest I quite like it on the slant cuz the wind's blowing over the top so it's not a problem all right we need to get the bedroom sorted out uh these come by default from the factory I don't want to walk in there with my shoes on these come with two bedrooms so it is a family tent you can take this whole door off instead of having it in the middle like that but you know it's kind of useful to have this little cubby here uh for storage um we got some blowflies in here which is going to trigger Bruno uh he can see something as well so Bruno's face is all sandy isn't it Bruno he's been having a fantastic time he really has I have to keep calling him back he's just exploring and exploring I'm going to give him a stick in a minute I got him a special one a coffee stick let me just see you can definitely see me yeah I haven't put a footprint down this floor is so super tough anyway I didn't think I needed to right so this inner door unclips and unzips and Tucks out of the way so let me get rid of this inner to turn it into one big bedroom so if you had kids or whatever you could have this as two bedrooms this divide but it really is as simple as that and then you just roll it up at the back I know you can't really see me but this is the inner you just have to trust me that's what I'm doing but you'll see the wind gusts are still exactly the same but the tent's not folding in you see so you just got to guide out correctly and I'll run you around it outside in a second just to show you I'm sorry I'm shouting I've been out there all that time in just ridiculous conditions when that was caving in oh man I didn't know what to do I've got to hand it to zempire so far wow so far this tent is incredible now they call this the pro the pro version of the tmv2 it's brand new it's only just come out they sent me a an early one I didn't buy it but they haven't paid me to do a review I asked them could I have this one I'll swap my other one which I had which I've done a few videos on now I like can I have this one please cuz I like the look of it and it was a new product so I thought yeah that'll do and I've got it right what am I doing here oh I see I wasn't meant to do that oh well there we go oh come on stop being a pelic right so oh I'm so thirsty it's I don't know if you've ever had dry wind blowing at you like Desert Wind it's um it's pretty horrendous stuff and it just sucks all the all the moisture out of you I'm not stressed don't get me wrong that was just difficult could two people have done it easier probably probably it's nice in here I tell you it's nice out of the wind I'm sure you can immediately tell the difference okay let's get a few things set up let's got my chair set up and then we'll give Bruno his stick he's watching me out there hello my puppy hello your face is so covered in dust it's I'm going to have to do a close-up of you in a minute just to show everyone it's got a really dusty face but he just keeps running all over the place he's you know seven such a great time oh man okay so Camp what do I think so far well look I knew I was coming up into this please don't comment saying why would you go in that that's ridiculous it's dangerous blah blah blah blah blah it's dangerous to camp in these conditions if I didn't have my truck with me yes I'd say it's risky because you could lose your shelter especially as I know there could be a blizzard coming in tonight so right now the temperature is 21° Centigrade I don't know what that is in Fahrenheit but it's warm that's why I'm in shorts and t-shirt temperature tonight is meant to drop to minus what was it - 6 but with these winds which means the wind chill be - 20 - 25 something insane um so yeah definitely don't attempt this it's another case of do as I say not as I do you know I'm doing this for YouTube I'm not endangering myself or Bruno because I've got the truck we can just go and sleep in the truck and the truck is flipping bomb prooof it really is nothing is going to affect the truck you know it weighs 3 and 1/2 ton no amount of wind is going to blow that thing away oh I get to sit down finally let's get all my gubbins out I'll have to take you for a little look see look around and I'll set the bed up I'll set the bed up this evening I've got to get a drink I'm so parched now I guess we've been at at what I don't know 45 minutes I've lost all track of time but I've got to say I've just noticed my view out the front of the tent holy moly look at my view let me bring the camera around so you can see oh it means you'll see Bruno as well but look at my view look at this look at that oh it comes some massive wind gusts again look at it mountains that's the sea just down there where am I looking down there mountains all the way along here spectacular and I've got a view out here as well got a window so there is mesh down here but I'm going to keep the mesh covered up cuz I don't want this air flow coming through here with all the dust there so I've got a window there I've got a window up here window here so I can see everything in fact I think this is a full window here yeah if you're anything like me and you don't like sitting in a tent unless because you want to see see out then this is the tent wow yeah so I've got my windows on both sides I know you couldn't see a single thing I was doing there okay let me give you a tour around outside and show you what I did okay let's have a look outside look at Bruno look at the wind on him wow Bruno you're having so much fun oh it's chilly when you step out here in the wind wow oh look at that cloud is that coming towards us oh it is oh my God that's massive that's very very black and very big and it seems to be coming this way I think we're going to lose our heat and Sun okay that might be rain oh the wind so I guide it out fully full length and I put rocks on the pegs not going anywhere so now it's not buckling that was the mistake I made is I guide it too short should have used all of the guy line but look at it holding up 50 km hour winds it's blowing me over unreal look at where I am right now while we still can you can see why I couldn't put the Drone up there's no way it would work in these conditions he's so playful he loves this oh man who wants to be here now oh my God it's blowing me it's so strong so strong but look it's not it's not folding anymore this tent is unbelievable I'm struggling to walk Pro tmv2 holy [Music] moly oh I got to get out the wind that's cold oh oh that's cold it's cold when you get in that wind I've got my staring set up there not holding the thing there I need a drink a zesty drink see my warning I can't can't use that in these winds no way zesty drink and I'll take a bottle of water oh whoopsie you know why that happened because I've been banging around all over the place hold on let me fix my fridge okay ah oh God can't believe it dinner's in there snacks stuff like that okay I've got a heater oh and I've got my diesel heater which I can bring in tonight uh so it's ready for the morning and that just plugs in oh the other side that doesn't really matter okay let's close this come on Bruno let's go in let's get your stick a special stick oh that's cold cold cold cold oh it's just a Haven of warmth in here oh see so this was the wind that was buckling it before is it holding it's it holding is it going to hold wow that's intense oh that's the strongest wind yet that's easily the strongest yet holy moly that was a massive gust but it's holding I can't believe this thing I can't believe it look at the this structure is incredible this is why you close these valves off to trap the pressure in each one means if I guess if one of them pops the others aren't affected it's like a submarine you know closing off different hatches can you hear that look at it it's like a parachute it's like a sail on the side but it's still holding I don't know how is this doing it I don't know I don't know how this is holding if I'd been up here in my North Face waona pancake that can't take this that would have been pancake those poles would have been bent buckled and snapped it would you'd have to be in a hillberg very low tent to handle this or a Dome Tent this is a family tent unbelievable right zesty drink time and Bruno's stick I tell you what the temperature has suddenly plummeted because we're out of that that sun is is gone behind the cloud the temperature nowo it's dropping really fast it's dropping really fast right let's give Bruno his surprise so this is a coffee stick made from coffee wood and it's safe for dogs what's this what's this is this your stick is this a new stick for you can I just clean your face a minute come here come here come here good boy let me just give your face a white there we go you got water yes oh you're sitting so nicely he's so good can you sit pretty sit pretty can you sit pretty good boy go on then oh I don't know when you'll see him again he may or may not come back he's disappearing he's laying down in the Wind on the ridge cuz this is what he does once he's settled with that stick and he lies down I'll show you he doesn't care about the cold you probably saw that if you saw my blizzard video which was I guess to here he's coming back oh he's got the Zoomies so if you saw my blizzard video video you'll see he just lies out in the snow and the ice and can you believe this I mean wow it's this definitely folded before with this wind oh oh oh oh I can relax now I can just chill I think everything is done as long as this tent holds all right so this was I did want to test this tent I've taken these tents out to normal camps all the time and people say well can it handle serious conditions what happens if the weather turns really bad you're at a campsite and one of those Mega Storms Come Through where you see everything flattened and I thought well you know what that's fair that's fair how do I know that this can really take it you read the blurb but can it take it so that's why I've done this and the only way I could get this level of wind was to come up here on top of a mountain at 1700 M with awful weather incoming um but I know all the weather is going to be behind the tent all of it it's not meant to turn and come into the tent if that happens uh then we got a problem hello Bruno come here what you got you want me to you want me to throw it no oh you just he's teasing me with the stick um yeah if it comes into the front oh I don't know what we'll do because I haven't got the front door I didn't bring that with me I mean I'd zip this one up but I don't know how weatherproof that is I guess it is weatherproof cuz it's made of the same material I don't know I'm rambling oh can I show you him wait hang on see he's mad he loves it he knows I'm videoing him he just knows he's so clever hello yes you're very happy aren't you anyway that's him playing and he's lay down out there now in the little Tusk with a wind just going through his hair if it starts to rain I'll bring him in wow this is It's howling this whole thing is just it's on tension okay I need a brew I need a coffee I need a coffee I've got to try and stop shouting but honestly I just can't help it it's so loud crazy loud all tell me I haven't got to go back outside to get my Kettle did I put the kettle in the top no oh I did woohoo okay Kettle oh gosh cup and somewhere coffees there we go today we're having coffees oh it's chilly I have to bring all my clothes in at some point um I've got a thermal hoodie actually I might put that on now so I might go and get that then get the kettle on yeah right so coffee time we had some drama while you were away Bruno disappeared and I could not find him and I was calling and calling and calling oh so I disconnected everything from the truck cuz I've got the heater set up the diesel heater is here just here I'll show you it later disconnected it all and um disconnected the starlink went driving up to the top where we camped for and there he was I've been calling and everything with a dead rabbit rolling in it and he stinks and I don't want him to go back up there and I've had to wash his mouth and his face so I've got him tied just here and he's just looking out so he's next to his water bowl so I just don't want him going back up there I was so worried he usually comes straight back when I called but cheeky boy he's still a puppy Bruce has done similar things though oh my voice I was shouting so loud for him coffee time all is good all is well we found him okay let's get this pluged in okay yeah so I got the heater ready because I just thought temperature is going to drop tonight the sun just has come out again I don't know what's going on so it's actually it's actually got warm again but just because I'm out of the wind once you're in the wind it's brutal I hope you can hear me I've got this flipping microphone the form factor of these microphones is just rubbish they're so ugly but I don't want to use the big microphone because oh actually I can use it now in fact let me switch you over to the big microphone I only need this on because I was out in the wind so let me switch you over has that better yes so I bought the diesel heater I I connected the diesel heater I just thought tonight it's going to be freezing cold at some point better to have it in here uh so I'll just zip that door up and then have the rest of it open and just have the heater on all night probably what else if this tent it's amazing the winds the gusts have died down a little bit but they meant they're due to pick up again um but the tent has held apart from that flopping that it did at the beginning that was my fault because I hadn't guided out proper it's been Flawless absolutely flawless fact what I want to do is look out this way at the mountain look let me just move you so it's got two doors which the other one didn't actually have oh it's okay yeah the other one one before this didn't have two doors so if the wind is blowing from One Direction sh oh it's a fly mesh hold on there's the actual door uh I guess you have to put the flamish away to get to this door yes you [Music] do okay let me see if I can work this out all right there it is not the easiest to get to oh yeah oh that just makes it feel so much better the [Music] breeze Nic see so these are completely separate okay well I don't need to fly mesh so oh it's beautiful it's beautiful with the sun oh but that windshield Cuts right through you there so you might get a little bit of that wind now on camera because it will cut through here but I've got a view oh the Peaks I've got a view of mountain peaks here that are just spectacular let me show you look at that W this iPhone 15 Pro Max kind of flipping Zoom it makes it look we're right there but we're not we're all the way back here look at that that's my view just beautiful there's Bruno tied up down there you're naughty aren't you naughty Bruno the second island we go he's going to go back up there again and I just don't want him to stunning so yeah just breathtaking I love it and this has got a door as well so door on both sides I'm sure the other one didn't have that in fact positive it didn't which was a bit of a problem if I'm honest this is a vast Improvement all right everyone I'm going to chill have my coffee and bring you back later I'm sure I've got a lot to film tonight and tomorrow morning so I'm not going to waste time doing loads and loads of footage now I think I'm just going to relax uh it's still really early uh oh no it's not hang on what oh it's 6:30 at night I'll bring you back for dinner um we got the cob Grill I'll light that in advance get it hot put dinner on and tonight we're having uh roast rack of lamb so I'll bring you back for that cheers everybody all right welcome back everybody okay time to put the cob Grill on so the way I do this now because what they say in the shop really doesn't like the cob cobblestones or whatever it is you buy for this thing they don't really work as in you just light them once and that's it doesn't happen so what I do is I just squeeze a little bit of fire lighting gel in there get the cobblestone put that on and then light it still howling out there light the gel there we go it's lit so then cuz it's all rather messy put the grill on the roasting rack and then leave that to get hot and cook well get hot then I can cook it's much more convenient doing this when I've got the truck parked right next to me and I've got access to all of my stuff so easily at the back but it's a small price to pay all right bring you all back when this has got hot and we put our going to get cooking so I've got my of lamb somebody tell me why they put this piece of paper on the lamb like that does that keep it fresher I don't know okay that's it don't need to season the lamb I'll just put salt and pepper on it afterwards so I want to cook that on low so um if you remember I'm on a carnivore diet so I can't tell if you can see me I'm on the carnivore diet so there's no uh nothing else to go with it no potatoes nothing I just eat meat not in that way and that's it cool right I need to find my wet wipes always bring wet wipes always bring a towel oh I've left them in the car I know where yeah okay all right everyone I'll bring you back when this is ready oh just come out to see the sunset before it completely disappears it's beautiful it's just this massive swath of cloud above me though look at that it's so menacing at The View on Mars Just spectacular yeah and the wind hasn't died down and a spectacular tent the temperature is is plummeting as soon as that sun and I haven't got much to go around so he's not getting any of this cuz he has had loads of dinner himself but he will get something at breakfast of mine cheers everybody thanks for coming oh that got a 5 m piece of pipe this stuff really isn't meant for outdoors it's meant for inside a caravan or campan here it is cranking you can just hear it I've covered it just cuz in the rain or snow whatever and it uh it's sucking in fresh air here and then hot air coming out and this is obviously the exhaust usually I put it under the truck but just I didn't have enough room oh it's so nice in the lewood side Runo where's he gone see he's run off already let's see if he can find me I haven't it's not very neat at the back is it the tent but bearing in mind what I had to set it up in it's just this bit here doesn't seem to quite come forward enough it's because I've got this this one too short needs to be longer every Brun know okay it's freezing out here I need to go back in but I just wanted to show you everyone what this look like before cigar time just how pretty it is just took Bruno for a little walk oh my God it's so cold he doesn't care but it's freezing and so windy oh it doesn't bother me but it everyone else normal campers they wouldn't be coming out in these conditions just no way would you be up here now in these conditions especially if you knew what was coming something's coming at 1:00 this morning and it looks absolutely brutal I think it's um a big snowstorm I don't know how much snow we'll get 10 cm maybe five I don't know but it will be blizzard like holy moly I think no it's okay all right anyway wow very smooth Maduro what did I say this was Buffalo 10 oh what this is I could smoke that over a few hours no problem cheers everyone Glen marangi probably will get out the tent I don't know if I'm going to run the heating all night I don't like sleeping with heat on I could run it on level one it's on level five full blast and then just it'll be comfortable but I've got a zero a minus 20 actually degree bag with me I think or yeah zero I can't remember I've got that thing I can never remember what the bag's called Diamond Park I think it's went camping and I I guess in in one of the kids cars um he might have been 18 same as my son Brandon anyway went missing no contact for to any of the parents nothing which is very weird uh massive search this was in Wales sorry I don't know if I said that uh my wife an is from Wales originally she was born there rexam anyway nothing and there was search continued and then they found them in a car upside down in a ravine stream River whatever had gone off the edge of a cliff just you know give me some rope here Cliff Edge whatever and was partially submerged under the water I don't know the facts okay I don't need to know the facts these are four kids teenagers who had decided to spend their weekend going camping and wow yeah it's um the thought that even I might have influenced them or any of us have influenced them to go camping and they've ended up dead could have been my son could have been brandom it's just heartbreaking absolutely heartbreaking if there you know four kids going off four teenagers I think they were 16 17 18 going off to do one of the the best experiences there is which is camping in the outdoors unplugged old school but having a car crash and dying I feel for the parents obviously and their friends and family but the poor kids I mean that must have been a horrible experience for them so camping Community takes these things quite harsh and I certainly do I don't know if anyone else has I don't I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it but I certainly do I saw camping and I I looked at it and I just thought oh my God it's it hits home cuz it's what I do it's what I do it's all I do is camping these kids have probably uh never seen my channel I don't know but anyway my heart goes out to the families please spare them a thought Google it look it up uh 14s whales camping and just you know have a drink to them and tip one out to them what can I say I'm an emotional guy all right let's move on oh yeah that will get me out of it Formula 1 what a system on his engine and so he had to have a new one put in and so they penalized him because it's against the rules you have to go to the back or five grip penalty or whatever it was 10 space it the sport is a joke now formula 1's a joke it really is Max fappen got in front right at the very beginning and he was gone that car is unbelievable you can't knock it it's great but you know the penalty because he pushed L clerk the penalty was 5 Seconds not give the place back where's the racing it's gone DRS please get rid of it anyway Las Vegas grand PRI I thought it was useless the whole event was useless I'm glad I didn't go um I heard that um it was average at best uh empty stands first day was a fiasco because they had to cancel everything because the drain hole the drains weren secured properly anyway the FIA and this new lot that own Formula 1 are just ruining it it's so bad I loved Formula 1 and they've just destroyed it for me chat gbt chat GPT open AI the company that owns the the biggest most famous artificial intelligence uh portal in the world it bizarrely sacked their CEO the founder the guy who invented it the board sacked them and so then Microsoft immediately same day announced he was joining Microsoft then there was such uproar and so many staff said well we're leaving them that the board reinstated him what's going on this is artificial intelligence which is kind of scary in its own right being run by this lot with a hidden agenda that we have no idea about we don't know what is going on what was the reason that they wanted to fire him and what was the reason they brought him back and why did Microsoft want him what is going on you should be very worried about artificial intelligence oh now it's coming from this side oh big one that was a big one uh you should be very worried because not of artificial attention but the people who are running it this big storm and I'm I'm feeling really calm my last blizzard which was two videos before this on the same well just up here same spot uh it just got really bad really quickly right at the beginning of the video and before you knew it we had blizzard conditions and I was cozy but I was so worried that The Impossible F1 story do watch this it's the story of how Jensen button won the World Championship with Brawn GP uh a company that paid one to buy it from Honda and Ross Brawn who is the genius behind the whole move and Brawn is now what became mercedesbenz team that Lewis Hamilton drives for and George Russell drives for now that's the DNA that's the same team same headquarters everything so watch that uh I think I saw it on Disney but I think it's Hulu in the states fantastic show way better than drive to survive on Netflix which is just junk so Brawn The Impossible F1 story very very good oh and the host is keano Reeves he interviews everybody so keano runs it so if you're a keano Reeves fan and he's a motorsport fan you got to watch it what else welcome to rexam of course so welcome to rexam uh season finale wow fantastic I mean I already knew what the result was but I love that show I really do ANS from rexim as I said earlier uh when we went to New York and the immigration officer there saw that an's passport it said rexam his place of birth he's like wow you're the first person I've ever met from rexam I've seen the show with Ryan Reynolds it's amazing um look it's a great show it's a Feelgood show it's it's high quality production rexam is a fantastic town with a very passionate you know population that love their football love their Club love rexam yes welcome to rexam and finally what have I been watching Robbie Williams on Netflix I guess it's um he's jumped on the bandwagon like the beckhams and stuff like that but I like Robbie Williams because I like his music and I think I was fascinated to see and it's incredible honestly amazing now Ann and I saw Robbie Williams perform live in Hong Kong Kong I guess late '90s and um he was a real dick no two ways about it had a chip on his shoulder about take that and it was the show was great but he talked to everyone and he in the intermission and he he just had a big chip on his shoulder well this show Robbie Williams on Netflix really goes into that in depth and he's he's got a lot of guilt um a great performer that's carrying just so many mental health problems the fact that he's a Hermit the fact that he was addicted to drugs and alcohol at a very early age it's so easy for us to judge so easy we sit in our flipping Ivory Towers and judge these celebrities but we haven't lived their life and what they're going through he struggled I and I was surprised that there's still something there now I think the Show filming it gave him closure because he saw footage he'd never ever seen before and I think it gave him closure I hope it really did because you know what he seems like a fantastic dad he seems like a good guy who was at a very young age thrown into stardom and just didn't cope with it very well at all and you know take that was a massive band it was so huge it was right up there with Spice Girls in the UK I don't know I don't think anyone in America knew what it was whereas Spice Girls was huge in America as well anyway Robbie Williams go and check it out on Netflix it's a fascinating story he he's kind of H just a tortured soul but a nice guy a nice guy didn't mean anyone any harm he it's all self-inflicted all right and to end so I just got back from my camper van trip where I picked up my new camper van when I say new it's a 1996 Isuzu elf and I've named it Buddy Buddy the elf in the film elf I'm sure so my video will have been out now a couple of weeks I'm sure I was a bit miserable in it to be honest and for that I apologize I um to be honest I I have actually haven't released it yet so I'm telling you all this I haven't even released the video yet but I I know that I am I haven't even done the edit but I know that I am I don't like crowds I've lived in Tokyo and everywhere and I'm done with it I don't like lots and lots of people I really don't I like a couple of people that's it the north island of New Zealand is crowded compared to the south island of New Zealand so I had to go up to the North Island to pick up the van and drive it all the way back and it was a 4-day trip and I'll tell you what I didn't enjoy it at all I'm sorry to say I just didn't enjoy it I if I'm going to the North Island I'll go to Wellington Orland I know what I'm doing go to a hotel have some fun with an we go out for dinner blah blah blah great but camping the way I camp with Solitude look at where I am right now 1700 M no one around just me this is how I like it I've walked away from campsites before for filming for YouTube where there have been people and I've gone to try and find something else and I can't and I bail cuz I don't want people around I enjoy my solitude so for camping I'm just not a fan and um there was a moment in that video there was a scene I don't I can't recall if I even mentioned it I don't think I did but I was so pissed off was parked there next to this volcano middle of nowhere no one else around a huge car park up there at elevation whatever it was 1200 M all by myself loving it great it's Grim outside perfect what happens a rental camper van turns up and parks next to me they decide to park next to me I could not believe it now I don't think I put this in the video so I'm saying it now I was so angry I was like what are you doing what are you why would you do that I got in the cab started the engine they looked at me I went why and I drove 100 m away from them to the other side of the car park cuz why would you do that they blocked my view out of one side they blocked my Wi-Fi signal they blocked my mobile signal as well but I don't care about that it was the view and it was the fact that they came and now they obviously did this because they thought safety in numbers it's a strange noise outside I don't know what that was or was that him moving um I don't know why they decided to park where they did safety and numbers anyway they parked the other side and they realized obviously what they' done and they thought oh well we don't want to be up here in the middle of nowhere if this guy's angry at us so they drove off after about 20 minutes left so I drove back to my original spot which was right there next to the volcano I I just don't look if you're going to camper vam RV do you see one other fan parked at a corner don't go and park next to them they obviously want their privacy just a little bit of you know awareness they are not there to make you feel safe they're there because they're having their own time give them space leave them alone park somewhere else they are not there to make you feel safe and I could see them negotiating in the van before when they they were deciding to part next to me I think the wife the girlfriend was going gesticulating to park next to me cuz she thought this is really creepy here and it was creepy very creepy it was chucking with rain it was foggy it was awful conditions and they probably felt safer next to someone else I'm sorry though that's not my problem so I left and moved away from that and gesticulated why I don't want you next to me um so yeah AB camping Tony is a bit grumpy but I like my solitude I was missing him I was missing Bruno I was missing an uh and they came and just blocked everything with their massive rental camper van so they weren't even kiwis they weren't even from New Zealand I don't know where they were from but anyway there you go am I ending it on that really oh I don't know no let's end it on this the camper van is awesome I love it I'm already planning a trip I am I would love to bring it up here in a blizzard to see how it copes there's no way that camper van even though it's amazing four-wheel drive there's no way it's getting up here not in one piece this is a disaster of a road coming up here you saw a little bit of it on the footage um and in my very modified souped up specialized 4x4 Ranger you know yes I can do it but I wouldn't put the camper van through that so I've got to find some spots to take the camper van I'm very much looking forward to doing a couple of camps in that soon uh and bringing you along for the ride I hope you enjoy it conditions uh so ow it's floor painful very Rocky not like grass okay so oops gosh there's so much cold air coming in through through this vent it's quite a lot cooler in here than it is out there all right let's get this done all right so bed's done now I need to put my pad on oh you got lots of ass shot I'm afraid let me kneel down oh man I can't see even see if you can see me this is brutal right yeah pad this bed's definitely done actually you know what I could probably inflate it a little bit more this bed is so comfy yeah this is the king Camp Oak what is it Oak P10 very comfy bed all right now we get our pad done and there's pad straps on this so it does come well you buy a pad to go with it but I'm going to use my thermarest the only reason I'm not using the king Camp one is because the king Camp one is massive very comfy but it doesn't fit my sleeping bag and I'll show you what I mean my big Agonist actually wraps around the mattress uh and it can't do it because with the King Camp one because it's so big and that is the sound of Bruno having water all right so that's both of those pumped up check it out fits perfectly okay let's clip click this onto here oh my gosh this wind I can feel it I can feel the cold air coming through here because of the ventilation even with the heating on I've got the diesel heater on and it's it's still freezing coming through here I don't think I'll be using the diesel heater tonight because I've got this I forgot what it's called again Diamond Park 0 degree yes that's it Diamond Park Diamond Park 0 degre okay so you just strap it onto the end of your pad it's very simple like so now last time I used this bag my feet were cold all night because it's a massive bag and bigger the bag the more you're going to struggle to heat it up and I just could not get my feet warm they were cold all night so this time I've got down booties with me just in case that happens again it's a great bag it really is it's so comfy but it's just massive and you got to be prepared for the fact that you're just not going to fill it cuz it is so big most Zer degree bags are mummy bags this isn't it's a fullsize bag I mean it's like wearing a duvet a quilt and that's it that is it now you could tuck it under the straps it's got pad straps it's got pillow strap this base is a awesome I have to say there you go right so that's not going to go loose at all there everything's attached perfect okay let's get Bruno's bed done comfy right Bruno's bed and he's going to be on the wool blanket tonight not his normal bed so I'll put his bed down under here to give him a bit more security but then put the wool blanket there as well just because he loves wool and natural fibers just like Bruce did excuse the ass shot but okay Bruno come on hang on wait wait wait wait so we put the pad down first oh he's on already oh he's on that took no time hey should we cover you up oh you were no time wow Bruno was ready for bed definitely you just see him here just he was ready for bed he's tired boy hello my lovely thank you for my kisses I know you're tired you want to go to bed he's got a tired face I know him I can tell he's absolutely exhausted he's been running around like crazy we'll see if he kicks the blanket off um it's a wool blanket so he might like it I don't know he likes natural fibers so we'll see he might just like curling up in it cuz it's going to be very warm for him there see he doesn't need anything on top he's got a thick layer he just curls up into it it's their tummy where they can get cold and that's why they curl up right I'm going to get into my pajamas and I'll bring you back okay in my ab camping pajamas I put my booties on oh oh wow this is the first time I've used booties but wow these are outdoor vitals hybrids I got to say very warm right Bruno is basically hello my puppy he's comfy I've covered him with his blanket natural fiber he seems much happier with that it's heavy so I can't hello my lovely hello my Bruno okay so this pad is not designed for this bed hello the pad that comes with the bed is much more stable I have to say CU it's wider it's huge very big but this this does the job it really does oh this is I mean the bed itself the base is so comfy and I'm strapped in so I've got nothing to worry about I'm in once I zip up and I'm done that's it my feet feel lovely oh I'm so glad I've got those booties because it makes a huge difference before my whole body was trying to heat the sleeping bag my feet were cold all night even with socks on couldn't get warm with these down booties fantastic this this is great now I need to turn off the heating cuz I'm not going to run that all night it just seems silly I'm in a Zer degree bag so listen for the voice saying power off [Music] I don't know if you heard that but it did do it it takes a minute to shut down it's going to get very very cold in here tonight cuz this is all mesh up here and it's just I could feel it the draft coming in the ventilation to stop condensation so it can breathe I don't think there's any way you can heat this tent thoroughly I just don't think there is because the breeze just comes straight in here I I can feel it it's Breezy there's no two ways about it there's no way to block that off so in Four Season T you'd have another flap another layer that you can just block that off completely but not this and that's a huge area for cold air just to rush through and it is really is freezing cold air coming through here there's no way to stop it no way to stop it there's no way to make this bedroom really warm it's a shame it's done I know why it's done it's done for condensation but for a truly Four Season Winter tent you need to be able to keep heat in and that's just not going to do it that's massive that's a massive piece of mesh if they had a fabric panel over the top of it perfect oh well it is what it is most families are camping in summer in Spring not not winter and here in New Zealand where I am it's actually end of spring coming up to Summer but it's four seasons in one day in New Zealand you never know what you're going to get and we're on top of Mountain so right it is freezing I'm going to have to wear my beanie tonight cuz it is cold it's really cold snow is meant to start around 1 to 2 a.m. we'll see it won't be rain not at this altitude and not at this temperature I just don't think it will be rain I don't know it just seems way too cold I wish you could block this vent off and just seal it in but you can't which is why I'm going have to wear my beanie I'm I'm glad I've got a Zer degree bag cuz this thing is a monster my feet are so warm so the down booties I've got outdoor vitals hybrid booties so they work even when they're wet and they feel nice they feel really nice and I've got large they're good size they feel good got to say what a great purchase I was cold before with even socks on in here just cuz this bag is so big and I was in well that last blizzard Camp got down to - 6 and I was cold all night and it sucked cuz my feet were cold not my body my body was hot but my feet were cold crazy all right snow this tent would be fine because of the ridge running along the top so there's 1ft snow drifts out there the road is frozen solid there's a thick layer of ice on the road now my truck can handle that it it depends how far down it goes and as it's a gravel road so it's not slippery it's it will dig through and bind cuz I've also I've got uh M and snow tires ice tires on there so that's not the problem the problem is packing this down getting whacked in the back here oh I can feel some air coming out of here now so we'll see we'll see if it can get up to temperature and if it does if this if this diesel heater works in these conditions then wow it's heat port in Christ Church New Zealand built it so now the question is yeah what do I do uh he wants his breakfast do I pack everything up up put everything in the truck just sit here with my chair and wait and see I mean I've got to start the truck up and put the heating on there for at least 20 minutes I do have deer but I really don't completely empty the tent and then I'll make a decision as to whether I'm going to leave the tent here or not because I just do not see how it's going to be possible to pack this down I mean I can give it a go but right now it's secure it's it's solid it's holding the only the only issue I have is that I know that there's worse gusts coming worse than this and it's already tense I don't know how much more this this tent can take I don't know my diesel heater is not heating anymore I don't know maybe the the fuel fro we'll see it stopped heating it's done this before and I I just don't know what it is if it's the cold and wet whatever I don't know I mean we're fine in here he's curled up on his blanket he's absolutely fine but I know it's going to get a lot worse so when you know you've got the forecast like I have and you can easily get out of here just do it and I'll just drive back slowly really slowly the thing is I've got the truck for it so here's what I'm going to do down I just didn't think about that I'm I'm just so stunned about this tent it I know I've been going on about it but greatest tent of all time so much space so strong incredible this is Expedition Force Expedition type camping Arctic well we are 1,700 M all right everyone I'm going to chill for a bit let the sun see if it can do some work on the ice on the snow on the tent and then bring you back for packing the tent down which is going to be it's going to be a horrendous experience there's no way I'm putting that thing back in the bag I'm going to roll it up as tightly as I can and then at this before it before it disappears wow there's the sea can't see the North Island today this truck is superb it's done a great job everything inside there is iced up but the canopy the M2 did a fantastic job we came through some deep snow up the top there the ruts were quite High deep I mean but I've got clearance you see what I mean about the size of these tires look at this you can see just how wide they are my power socket is frozen won't close that's what I had the styling plugged into look at that that's a hoop there for attaching stuff too stainless steel oh my light is
