all right guys what is going on it is your least favorite mortal vlogger reporting live from the lot so if you hear some background noise that's why now guys i know i've done a how to stop you video in my past i know that was like literally three years ago though and in between now and then i've definitely got a lot better at stoppies i actually went to am stopping school got my sticker from jesse toller and rodney who holds like literally the guinness book of world records for shoppies so i've learned a lot of techniques in between when i made that original video i think it was 2017 so almost four years now and present day 2022. now before i start showing you guys how to actively do stoppies i really do feel the need to talk about a couple things before we do this first and foremost you're going to need a spot to practice and i'm talking something smooth something not full of rocks somewhere predictable somewhere somewhat flat somewhere where your tires are going to be able to hold traction very well consistently and you're going to be able to come back time and time and time again so having a lot having a closed down street having something like that is very very very beneficial and second and probably last thing i'm going to talk about before i get to roland is the gear and the parts that you need to do this first and foremost if you notice i always run these michelin 2 ct tires on my bikes i'm not sponsored by them i've actually turned down tire sponsors because i prefer this tire so much that makes her some good high temperature motool something good brake fluid-wise something predictable something gradual and a good front master i run a 12 millimeter on on the supermodel i'm a girl and then i run a brembo 16 millimeter on the 636. that match with some steel brake lines is really going to do you justice when it comes to stoppies my guy just has to come over here during the vlog i love you roland see you later god damn all right guys i'm not going to be the best example for this but you really do need to wear a jacket some good gloves everything like this because stoppies are not wheelies these will seriously you up a stopper can literally paralyze you if you're going over a couple miles an hour you're thinking about a big street bike like that burying you into the ground it's not fun so wear your jackets where your back protectors wear your gloves where your gear and especially where your helmet boys i'm going to be doing stoppies on both these bikes today i think i am going to start off on the supermoto since it is pretty new to me this is only my second time riding it so we should be learning as we go let's do this oh i love the electric start on these 450s man it makes life so much easier so yeah this is one of the many chicago lots that we have here to practice i've definitely talked about it in other videos if you guys need to learn how to find a lot or somewhere somewhat consistent an abandoned road or something like that look up some of your local uh business districts maybe even try talking to some of the guys who own the parking lots it's a really good idea to get in with them and start developing a relationship with them so you can hopefully have a lot with permission that is the ultimate dream of every center all right guys first and foremost i'm going to give you the biggest secret of them all this is something that i've definitely recently come about and this is something that actually helped me get my 500 feet definitely the deal breakers so you see your master here i'll do my best to explain this you see your master here there's a little bit i don't know about two inches in between there and the throttle your engagement zone when you're like your stabbing zone like that zone where your brake is actively applying well should be touching this knuckle your third knuckle so two fingers on the lever two fingers on the throttle and this lever is touching barely touching that knuckle that's like your safety that's where you know you got to squeeze that brake so we're going to come in first gear and we're just going to get used to warming up the tire pressing on that brake gonna get used to warming up the tire pressing on that brake it's a little bit of a stab okay so you're coming in to eli here a little bit on the brake just like that just so your back ends barely getting up we're doing that for a few reasons not only for you to just get comfortable with your bike up on one tire now the front tire instead of the rear because this is definitely a little bit more of a technical trick than a wheelie that's why you see you know 95 percent of stunters not doing them this is the trick that separates the men from the boys as they say we're also doing it to warm up that front tire because that front tire has got to be warmed up that 2ct so go ahead get your practice in keep going and this is a stab of the break i'm sure you're seeing my hand it's a stab like that and this whole time i want you to watch my body position now that i'm coming up the eli's camera i'm straight ahead looking straight ahead my body's straight my shoulders are boxed up to my handlebars and we're pretty much creating a big square you want a square boom boom boom boom your stomach and your bars are horizontal and your arms are vertical you're straight you're braced and your head is not looking down you do not want to look down at the pavement never want to do this oh don you want to look straight ahead it's a very very easy way to get target fixation and you're going to flip that stoppy you don't want to do that so you've gotten comfortable picking up the back end so now let's start tracking a little bit you're going to have a fixed spot you always want to have a fixed spot so let's say the end of this trailer is going to be my fixed spot that's going to be my pickup and my goal for this one is get to the third trailer boom got to my third trailer now for some people you might have to work on that all day and that's perfectly fine you do not want to flip one of these i'm telling you you do not want to flip a sappy it can seriously screw you up and the faster you're going the more up you can honestly get do our pick up point one more time there guys you have your pickup point and you're actively picking up there and you're watching yourself progress oh boom look at that we just rolled an extra 15 feet and as you progress you're going to notice that the stab of the break and getting up to that balance point is the ultimate goal here we're going to roll one really quick here for eli sorry guys i don't mean to cut off the vlog or anything i just know eli's down there trying to shoot third person of this how to stop you video so the ultimate thing here is we're stabbing the break and we're trying to get up to balance point as quick as possible what is balance point now this is the part that i might sound like an absolute nut job trying to explain and anyone for that matter who really rolls stoppies sounds like an absolute maniac saying it you're stabbing that front brake as quickly as possible and you're trying to get up to that point where the bike feels weightless your body feels weightless that point where you can almost let off the front brake and hover there but not that tall you don't want to die but man this is hard to talk about you're literally going at the top of one of your gears you're stabbing that front brake and you're waiting for that bike to become weightless and then you're barely on the brake just enough that you can sit below balance point there and keep going jesse toler and some of these other psychopaths that really really really roll like you know there's a couple guys there's a couple infamous guys i think of when i think of guys that are setting guinness world records and stuff like that they're they're saying that not only are they picking up at 150 miles an hour but they're also saying that they're letting go of that break completely because they're at that high of a balance point now we're gonna apply some of those and we're gonna shift into second first gear second gear we're gonna be stabbing the brake squared up with our body and we're just going to roll i feel like another thing i forgot to say too is when you're actively on that throttle it's throttle throttle throttle so your rear suspension is compressing and then as soon as you get off the throttle it's a stab of the brake so it's a kangaroo [Music] yep exactly so your bike is accelerating accelerating accelerating and as your front end is coming back down from getting off the throttle tree loading yep you're stabbing that front brake so let's go ahead and run a couple of those i'm gonna do my best to show you what i mean by stabbing of the front brake and i know as i progressively get into this video this is gonna sound a little bit more and more crazy but that is what we are doing we are stabbing that front brake and uh after this i will jump on the street bike i really do suggest you learn on a grom if you don't have a grom a dirt bike will work something that's not going to decapitate you if you do end up flipping it's really beneficial so we'll come in at the top of second and we're going to stab that front brake there we go first second stab we're trying to get up the balance point as quickly as possible turn around so just baby step baby step baby step it's not a race give this thing a break jump on the 636 just because i know a lot of guys you know they're on different bikes they're on groms they're on sport bikes or on whatever that's something to really consider when we're going from a supermodel like this to a sport bike is we're going from one single rotor and caliper to dual rotors dual calipers definitely a lot more brake on these big bikes and once again we're going to go through a lot of the same steps that we did with the supermodel of warming up the front tire getting more and more used to it i'm telling you i'm getting used to this bike i'm seriously saying i'm getting used to this bike after being on a different bike it's really important man get used to every bike and it's brake setup because they are that different and if you're in a busy lot like this make sure you're keeping track of everybody doing your best to observe where a good spot is to do stoppies pull up the eli and it's a lot of the same principles except the suspension on a street bike doesn't compress as much as a super model that's why i really wanted to do the super model first and show you guys that that's probably the probably the move here a super motor or a grom to start off on just like we've been doing come in first [Music] another huge thing that a street bike especially really does need is one of these it's a steering stabilizer i know a lot of the race guys are familiar with it it prevents you from getting the wobbles i had a video man about four months ago now it was back in january okay three months ago where i did get the speed wobbles when i had a faulty gpr on it and uh i went down definitely not fun i got really lucky that it wasn't worse and guys i'm only rolling probably i don't know 250 feet or so when we were actively trying to roll far far like for the stoppy school trying to get our stickers that 300 foot approach 500 foot roll we're training training training in a really good lot and i would have to do a couple days of training again myself so this is all about practice i'll do a couple more keep talking with you here [Music] room oh hmm all right guys if you enjoyed this video make sure to give it a like if it helped you at all make sure to subscribe to my channel i really do love doing these how-to videos whether it's wheelies or shoppies once again please please please please please for the love of god take your time with this this is not something that's going to happen in a day a week a month this is something that's going to happen over months if not years most likely years just practice practice practice like i said before track your progress have your fixed point be happy if you're getting an extra 10 15 feet a day be happy with that you do not want to push this okay this is not something that comes easy this is not something that happens overnight so guys please be safe as always there's your least favorite motovlogger brian636 signing out peace [Music]
