Absent for years, talked about for months. Now the day is here and it is a day like no other. Those on the inside of this rivalry know, those on the outside are about to find out. THIS IS LONDON'S GRUDGE MATCH. MILLWALL, the originals as far as this rivalry goes. West Ham, the more successful club. Now finally they meet again. Millwall get the free kick and Alex Neil will be delighted with this start so far. His patched up team.

He's told them to play with their heads and their hearts. This occasion today keep this intensity inside the stadium. Sturge sends that ball in. Hermansen some of the early decision to come and he's lost in the crowd and he's away from home right now. Wanting the free kick but Paul Tierney was not interested. He came a long way there Hermansen. And West Ham with a player down. Now Fornals is the player down so the referee brings play to a halt.

Well Hermansen, he made his mind up very early to come and try and get to this but it's dropping just inside the box and to me he never seems to really get there. He runs through maybe his own players as much as Millwall players. So he's never going to be a clean catch. Then it's just whether the defenders around him appreciated that he's taken a gamble. He stepped to the edge of the box and they actually get round behind him.

He's never going to be able to catch that cleanly. Well the defenders have got back. They've defended the target which is all you can do when the goalkeeper makes that kind of decision and doesn't get there. Doesn't catch the ball cleanly. So West Ham short-handed as Dikes arrows that ball in. It goes BEHIND NEGLI. IT'S SAIZ! BRILLIANT STOP FROM HERMANSEN! OH CAN'T! HERMANSEN IN THE WAY AGAIN, BUT NOW IT'S IN. KAYLA TAYLOR HEAR THAT NOISE.

JUST HEAR THE LIONS ROAR. THEY CAN HEAR IT ACROSS THE THAMES ON WEST HAM UNITED TURF. HERMANSEN TRIED HIS BEST, BUT IN THE END, HE HAD NO ANSWER. WEST HAM HAD NO ANSWER. >> AND IT'S NO MORE THAN MILLWALL DESERVED for the opening 15 minutes. Outstanding. Getting the ball INTO THE BOX, CAUSING defensive disarray. This is why I look at Taylor, why I look at Cooper, because they're just so problematic. Their size, their physicality, their presence.

And if you don't stand up TO THAT, IT'S HARD to stand up to it. But if you get out-muscled, you got a big problem. >> WELL, SYKES TRYING HIS LUCK. AND HIS LUCK WAS ALMOST IN. THE FRAME OF THE GOAL DENIES MARK SYKES ONE OF THE GOALS OF THIS ETERNAL FEUD. HOW UNLUCKY. >> WELL, AS THE BALL KIND OF WENT ACROSS THE PITCH AND HE PULLED his foot back and thinking you're having a laugh, aren't you, shooting from there. >> That is absolutely incredible.

He is 6 inches away. A dropping ball away from giving Millwall a glorious 2-0 lead. What a strike. >> Yeah, I think for Alex Neil, easy half-time talk. Do it again in the second half. For West Ham you've got to learn our lessons from the first half and be much better in the second. >> Dykes with that throw. AND THERE IS THE SECOND FROM KAM NEGHLI. MILLWALL, THE ORIGINALS WHEN IT COMES TO THIS ETERNAL FEUD. SURROUND WEST HAM IN SOUTHEAST LONDON.

A LONG THROW HAS DONE THE JOB AGAIN. >> AND IT'S A MOUNTAIN TO CLIMB for West Ham, but I didn't think they were going TO GET THAT SECOND GOAL, all important second goal before half time, but again, what did THEY DO? BIG LADS UP, DEFENSIVE DISARRAY, get the ball into the danger area, BUT THERE'S JUST NO DEFENSIVE REACTION FROM WEST HAM. They just look paralyzed defensively when that ball comes in. No one's being positive, no one's being strong.

THEY'VE GOT BODIES BACK THERE. LOOK AT THE AMOUNT OF WHITE SHIRTS just standing and watching. And that second goal is is absolutely what Millwall deserve, and what a first half of Alex Neil's men. >> West Ham United are looking to change the picture here. Mavropanos Jarrod Bowen So often the player to change the picture for West Ham United. No way through that time, but here he GOES AGAIN. PABLO'S THERE, AND SO IS MARSHALL TO PROTECT HIS CLEAN SHEET RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE WEST HAM UNITED FANS. >> WELL, his positioning is outstanding, but it's surely it's his reactions, quick reactions to get a a hand up.

Cuz he's so close to target. It's the 6-yard box. Amazing athletic reactions there from the goalkeeper. >> Off the head of Taylor. Won back by Edvin Asper. There's Solomon. Try to make room for the shot. Maybe pick a pass. He's found Pablo on the angles. Pablo again. IT'S KANTE! THAT'S WHAT WEST HAM UNITED NEEDED. AND THEIR SUPPORTERS HAD RINGSIDE SEATS FOR THAT. THEY HEARD THE DASH OF IT. AND THEY DID. >> YOU'VE GOT TO GIVE NUNO CREDIT.

HE'S YOU KNOW, KANTE AT half time to have an impact. They haven't been brilliant up to this point, but that strike, sweet strike into the bottom corner. It's game on. No matter how poor West Ham have been, they're back in the game. They needed a third goal in the game, and from distance, they've got it. I don't think Illan Meslier can actually see the ball clearly. Comes through so many bodies. He's never ever getting there.

It's a It's a good strike. >> Baggett. Mavropanos. There's Taty Castellanos. Away by Osei Tutu, but West Ham United are calling the shots now. Manor Solomon, lovely ball played through. Taty Castellanos. This is JARROD BOWEN. BOWEN TRIES TO GET A SHOT AWAY. DID GET THE SHOT AWAY. Finds the side netting. It's a West Ham corner. >> Well, you've got a game within a game now, this final 15-20 minutes. That hits the bottom corner.

The belief now floods back into West Ham. >> Off the head of Arkon and away by Zack Sturge, but West Ham United are not done yet. That time, it's Cooper doing the defending. Here come West Ham again. Edvin Asper. He's thinking about this. Asper, and it's dealt with by Marshall. >> You're just starting to see those, you know, Millwall defenders midfield start to take steps backwards rather than stepping onto their opponents.

They're just not getting close. That's why these shots now starting to rain in on Marshall. >> It's moved short again to Solomon. SOLOMON, MAVROPANOS! THAT'S WHAT HE DOES! THAT'S WHAT HE DOES! AND THIS TIME HE'S DONE IT AT THE DEN! THAT'S A TEST OF NERVE. THAT IS COURAGE BECAUSE WEST HAM UNITED HAVE COME BACK FROM TWO DOWN. >> YEAH, TWO-NIL DOWN, THEY WERE GETTING BULLIED, THEY WERE getting battered. But in this league we always question teams' resilience, character.

Can you get back into a game? No matter how bad you're playing, can you maybe just produce a bit of magic, get a goal back? Kanté did that and they've just gone from strength to strength. They look physically, mentally tired, Millwall. It's brilliant from Solomon. He slows a defender down, bursts past him, and then he stands the ball up. Doesn't whip it in. He just clips that ball in, takes the goalkeeper out of the equation, and Mavropanos this time beats Cooper and makes it 2-2.

What a game, what a response from West Ham. Manor Solomon. Kanté. Who's made a difference since coming on. He's made that run again. Kanté with a ball in and Cooper having to defend his near post. Well, we saw with his goal he can really strike a ball, but that athleticism. Corner sent in towards that near post and it's uh well defended. Savannah in the way. Here's Kanté back defending. HE'S LOST OUT TO LISBIE. LISBIE'S AWAY.

KANTE IS AFTER HIM. KANTE PULLS HIM DOWN JUST OUTSIDE THE BOX. IT WILL BE A FREE KICK, BUT IT WILL BE A RED CARD. KANTE HAD TO DO IT FOR HIS TEAM AND FOR WEST HAM UNITED BECAUSE LISBIE WAS IN. HE WAS AWAY. KANTE HAD TO STOP HIM. HE IS OFF. >> Boyce had such an effect on the game in the Millwall half, but he just delays on the halfway line. You've got to give Lisbie a huge amount of credit for the energy. I said this about the subs coming on for Millwall.

Will it give them a lift? Will it give them a burst of energy? That's what this is all about. Close down a player who's taking too long to play the forward pass. And then he feels he has no choice, Kante, but to pull his man back. >> Three additional minutes left of this game. It is yet to be decided between these two who stand locked at 2-2. And also 2-2 waits in the box. In by Saville. Baggott with a free header. HERE IS LYNDON DYKES.

AND IT'S OVER THE TOP. >> It's not an easy chance. You're moving away from the target, bouncing ball, you're off balance. Of course you want an opportunity like this to fall to a striker, but it is really, really difficult to swivel and keep that down, but it's definitely a half chance. >> Well, Lyndon Dykes has thrown West Ham into chaos with these long throws. Two goals have come from them. Now, surely the final act of this game.

This enduring rivalry. Dykes with the throw. Cooper tries to get something on it. Saville. Her Stedge. Survey. 14 YEARS IN THE MAKING. 95 MINUTES OF PULSATING FOOTBALL IN THE GAME THAT MILLWALL AND WEST HAM UNITED DO NOT LOSE. THERE IS NO LOSER TODAY. Millwall were two up at the break. THANKS TO GOALS FROM CALEB Taylor and Kamel Negli. WEST HAM HAD TO IMPROVE IN THE SECOND HALF. They did improve in the second half after changes were made.

And Mohamed El Khayati halved the deficit before Konstantinos Mavropanos leveled up. After that, Khayati was sent off for bringing down Khayati Lisbie who was racing through on goal. It is finished at the Den. Millwall two, West Ham United two, and breathe.
