Opening (first 30 seconds)
Hey everyone, Anders here with another video. Today, I want to go over the way I recommend leveling to 45 in Aion 2 for global launch. What you actually need to do on the way up, what you can safely ignore, and a couple of things you do not want to touch while leveling because they'll cost you later on. Before we get started, today's video is sponsored by LagoFast. I've used their VPN for a while now. Their cross-server acceleration keeps my ping down and my connection stable, which matters when you're on Korean servers or testing early builds of new MMOs.

For Aion 2, you can download the purple client straight through LagoFast on the NC client, and they've also added support for the global Steam version as well. So, it's worth trying if you want a more reliable and stable connection to the game servers. There's also a one-click translation if your language isn't supported in client. They've got a DPS tracker that shows real-time party numbers, an overlay that moves wherever you want, and you can even click on any player to see what skills are doing the most damage.
I've got a full video on it linked below. New users get a free 3-hour trial, links in the description and pinned comment, and code 30 Anders takes 30% off at checkout. All right, let's start with the question I've been getting a lot. Do you need to speedrun to 45? No, absolutely not. It is not necessary. If you do want to speedrun anything, I recommend at least getting to your first expedition. That's around level 22, and that should take you 1 to 2 hours.
Reaching it unlocks your Od energy recovery, which means from that point on, you're passively recovering Od energy while you play or while you're offline. So, the sooner you get there, the sooner that clock starts. Now, here's the part that applies no matter which way you go. Sealed dungeons, strongholds, and all the green quests are mandatory. Whether you want to reach 45 quickly or you take your time, you're going to be doing all of these eventually.
So, the question isn't whether you can skip them or not, it's about when you are going to actually do them. The path I'm laying out in this video focuses on finishing the main story as efficiently as possible, and doing it this way will also get you to level 45 in around 3 to 4 hours. Now, just to be clear about what you don't need to do, No enhancements is necessary, no feather collecting is necessary. Don't spend any time on either of those while you're leveling, unless of course you have already unlocked your first dungeon and you want to take it slow from there.
It is after all a game, so enjoy the leveling process as much as you want. The only thing you need to worry about is leveling up your skills, your stigmas, and your divinion with the points you get from the main story and quests, and that's pretty much it. All right, let's get into the route. Your main story quests are going to be these yellow ones. You follow those, and as you go, the yellow quest will unlock green optional quests from time to time.
So, you'll naturally pick some of those up along the way. You don't need to complete them, but a few of them are always on the way to your main objective, so it is fine to do them. For this guide, we're assuming you're only doing the yellow quests. Your first real stop is going to be your first ascension. When you get to your first ascension point, your ascension gauge will be at around 85%. From here, you can do sealed dungeons, strongholds, or green quests to increase this meter.
Doing one of any of these will give you 3% added to that gauge. So, effectively, you need a combination of five of these things to be able to start the first ascension quest. If you ran a couple of green quests already, you'll need less. If you have the choice of running green quests, focus on any that give you accessories. This matters later on. There are gear score requirements on the exploration dungeons further into the story, and those accessories are going to help you get past the minimum gear score requirement to enter those dungeons.
Once you complete the first ascension, you can focus on the yellow main quest again until you reach the second ascension. Along the way, you'll also unlock your first exploration dungeon, Crow Cave. Now, this is very important. Do not collect the reward from these exploration dungeons when you're starting the game. Opening that reward costs Odol Energy, and you want to save the energy for conquest dungeons at level 45.
Like I said in my PvE overview, conquest is where the better gear drops come from, so that's where your energy should go. Clear the dungeon, move the quest forward, and leave the rewards. You can team up with other players for these, or you can run them solo. All of the exploration dungeons are soloable, so if you don't want to wait on a party, you don't have to. By the time you reach the second ascension, you'll also have done the Urugugu Canyon.
Again, do not take the rewards. If you did the bare minimum to continue the main quest, you'll likely be sitting around 81% on your ascension gauge. This time, each quest, sealed dungeon, or stronghold gives us around 4% of ascension gauge progress. So, once again, we need another five of them to continue. Same advice as before, focus on any accessory quest if you can, or any nearby sealed dungeon or stronghold, just to cross them off the list of things you'll have to do later on anyway.
After the second ascension is complete, it's pretty much a straight shot to level 45. You'll actually reach 45 before you even complete the main story. Along the way, you'll have to do Fire Temple Dungeon, I suggest you skip the rewards here as well. The only exception is if you want the extend weapon for PvP, but even then, I highly recommend saving the auto energy. Once you hit 45, you can start running Dimensional Invasion and the Shugo Festival, and if you've watched my PvE overview, I told you to save your Shugo keys while you're leveling.
This is where you start using them. At this point, you'll likely hit your first real wall, because as you keep going with the story, you're going to reach the Draupnir Exploration Dungeon, and there's a good chance you won't meet the gear score requirement to enter. Requirements are slightly elevated for global, and that's why we've been focusing on quests that reward accessories this whole time. By now, you'll also have at least one quest that offers a clash box.
This rewards you with a new item called a clash rune. It's a PvE damage boost item that goes into your rune equipment slot, and it's going to elevate your gear score substantially, so don't sit on that one. Since we're at the point in the game where we need to start completing all of our sealed dungeons, strongholds, and green quests anyway, It's okay to take your time here. You've already hit 45. Focus on traveling through the spacetime rift if you see it open, completing the sealed dungeons and strongholds on the opposing faction's map is mandatory for your progression anyway, so you might as well get started.
Make sure you pick up the spacetime rift green quests before you go through the rift. You only have an hour on the other side, so if you're new, it's going to take you a few trips to complete everything. Don't expect to get it all done in one go. Remember you'll be at default PvE mode as you go through the rift, so you don't have to worry about PvP. Do enough of these dungeons and quests to reach the gear score you need for Draupnir, then complete it either solo or in a group, and remember skip the rewards.
After you complete Draupnir, the main quest sends you into the abyss, which again has a gear score requirement to enter, and depending on how it is on global, you may need to go back to running more sealed dungeons, strongholds, and any green quests you missed to increase your gear score. The good news is that once you complete Draupnir, you'll have even more green quests unlocked, and those should help you reach the minimum abyss gear score to enter.
Complete the mission inside, and you're done with the main quest. You'll also receive a unique weapon for finishing it, and at this point, I know a lot of you are going to want to start enhancing and doing dungeons. I want you to hold off on enhancing anything until we know the full progression path at launch. If I tell you what to enhance because of the way we did it in Korea, that is pure assumption. As we went over in my global changes video, the global build is just very different.
All you need to do right now is focus on your sealed dungeons, quests, and stronghold completion. Once you get all of those done, you'll be ready to start conquest dungeons and running more end-game content. Because you skipped all of those exploration rewards on the way up, you'll have the odal energy saved to actually use to try to get much better gear. So, to sum all of this up, you don't need to speed run to 45, but get to your first expedition early so your odal energy starts recovering.
Follow the yellow main quest and fill your ascension gauge with sealed dungeons, strongholds, and green quests, prioritizing anything that rewards accessories. No enhancing is needed, just level your skills, your stigmas, and Devonian. Don't take rewards from Crow Cave, Urguguru Canyon, Fire Temple, or Draupnir, and save that auto energy for conquest dungeons at 45. Once you hit 45, start dimensional invasion and Ashugo Festival, grab your class rune, and use the spacetime rift to work through the other faction side.
Reach the gear score for Draupnir, then Abyss. Finish the main story for your unique weapon, and hold off on enhancing until we know more. For now, that's all the information I have that I'm fairly confident will be relevant for your progression at launch. I'll have a gear progression and end-game guide out as soon as advanced access drops, so stay tuned for that.
