I refuse. I made a list of the exact that I'm doing to make this fall peak, make it different than every other one before. You know how in Black Friday everything used to be like 50% off that week? Now it's kind of a scam, it's only like 20% off, but the point is fall gives you a fire sale on joy in life if you know how to play it. So, let me break down how we should play it, how to max out our fall arc. Step one is name the season.
This is life maxing 101 and and what why do I say name the season you might ask? Because when you name something, you are telling yourself that you value it as important. As an example, you know we name people, we name places, songs. Some people even name their cars, but it's like no one's naming an ordinary pen. Why? Because we name the things that we value. So, we got to name this arc because that makes it intentional.
If we don't name it, it'll just pass us by and we will forget how meaningful it is. Ooh, also I forgot to say this, but in this guideline in each of these little essential boxes in the top left corner I have the fall vibe buff and in the bottom right I have the quest [music] for myself and for each of you guys if you guys are following along, taking notes and whatnot. So, this essential's fall vibe buff is this could be us Pokémon.
What do I mean by this? Funny enough, it's actually a statistic that the most relationships start in October. Maybe that's because summer is over, cuffing season, everybody's getting cozy. Essential number two for fall maxing is embrace the seasonal events. You see, me personally, for the past 3 years, I have not done sh- for Halloween. And I'm kind of mad about it. I'm kind of You know, in the moment, I was like, "Oh, it's Halloween.
I don't really care. Blah, blah, blah. I'm too old to be dressing up." No, bro, what it What was I doing? I was so naive. I didn't realize >> [music] >> that it's more immature to not dress up for Halloween than it is imma- It's Basically, we want to be dressing up for Halloween. This year is a different story because I realized one of the reasons that life feels so boring and soulless as we grow up is because we stop caring about the seasonal events.
Halloween comes along. We don't even dress up. Christmas comes along. Sure, we celebrate, but it's not like we we don't do the the Oh, we got to watch The Polar Express and all I stopped watching The Polar Express years ago. But, think about the movie Elf. That dad is literally a goober, a soulless guy because he doesn't embrace the seasonal event holidays. When you bring back the childlike wonder of the events, it adds spirit to the season.
It actually lets you look back and think, "Wow, I was intentional about my life this season." So, the quest for you [music] guys is planning out your Halloween costume. Hey, don't be surprised if your boy pops out looking like Gandalf the wizard. Now, step three to fall maxing is archive the season. As I said, life goes so quick, and if we don't stop to take a look around once in a while, it'll pass us by, you know, like that one quote from that one movie.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, then I just sound like autistic. But, hopefully you guys know what I'm saying. I don't know about you guys, but for the longest time, this was just my photo gallery or my my my camera roll. Memes during the summer, and during the school season, it was just notes [music] and the answers to the tests and whatever it may be, homework. Which is not how I'm trying to live anymore.
So, I have started to archive the season more. What do I mean [music] by this? Take photos, take screenshots, uh capture your life, start journaling. And this is so important because a couple reasons. First things first, because you're going to want to look back at it. And right now in the moment you might be like, "Oh, I don't care to look back on it." But trust me, bro, the older you get, this is how you know I'm getting on status because I want to start remembering things.
I want to start capturing moments. Literally taking selfies in the being in Chicago. It's like things like that the old me wouldn't have done because it was cringey or corny or I didn't care. But now I'm like, "Dang, I want to look back at it." So, this one for example, this was me going out to a Tiffany Day concert alone. I went alone. And outside the concert afterwards, I went to went up to some random guy and I said, "Yo, can you take a photo of me?" And now I have this photo to look back and remember like, "Dang, I went out by myself that night.
I had a good night." And yeah, it's it's just memories, bro. Archive the season because why do I say this again? I wish there was a way to know you were in the good old days before you actually left them. Andy Bernard 101 right there. Bro, it's the end of 2026. Think about how crazy that is. 2026 feel like felt I mean, first off, it's felt like it's been a million years, but it's also felt like it just started. It feels like just 5 seconds ago I was playing Fortnite with the boys after school.
And now I bullying 10, I have responsibilities in life and so much BS to think about. So, archive the season, make it intentional, take a second to slow down and remember. One of the things that makes me reflect on the season and brings me a lot of nostalgia is music. So, Spotify has this, YouTube Music has this, I'm sure Apple Music has this, but look back at your wrappeds, take photos, journal, write things down. Um I don't know how NCS top 50 I don't know how that was there, but just all of these things.
And another example, I was walking in the park with my friend Juan. And I was like, "Yo, we should take a photo." So, I went up to some random guy and I said, "Yo, can you take a picture of us?" And he's trying to hypemog me or whatever, but like just take more photos of things. Me watching the sunset, the simple things, you journaling down. Because I promise you guys, it might not make sense to you right now, but the older you get, the more sentimental you're going to want to be, the more nostalgic you're going to be.
You're going to wish that you archived your season, especially fall 2026. Romanticize it. Remember just how blessed you are. Um not to be yapping, but um yeah. Step three, two or no, I'm four I'm on step four now. Step four to fall maxing is rituals. Rituals are how you romanticize life without forcing it. For example, Saturday morning coffee and journaling. Anything that's a little tradition that you can repeatedly do gives the season an identity.
That's That's what makes it an arc. Everybody talks about, "Oh, winter arc. I'm locking in. I'm going to the gym and I'm working. I'm grinding. I'm getting my life ready." People wouldn't really describe the word them as using the word ritual, but those are rituals. For example, one ritual that I had that I was honestly so fond of and I didn't intentionally do this, but last year during the fall season, I would go to this uh Harry Potter owl cafe and library at least once a week and [music] I would just bring my computer and do my work there.
And it's like I'd be doing the exact same thing that I'd be doing at home, just working, but romanticizing the fall season by going on a little walk, a little stroll to the aesthetic library and then being in this scenic vibe and then I'd go on a walk in the park afterwards. That right there is free and I it just I get so much nostalgia from this season. So, I said to you guys, uh create one small weekly ritual. Could be going to the library, could be going to the park.
Step uh five now is side quest. Side quest, side quest, side quest. Side quests are very similar to rituals. Um they can be the same thing. It's like how a square is a circle, but it's a No, a square is a rectangle, but a rectangle is not a square. Now I'm yapping now, but I'm in I'm in like a flow state right now. I don't know if you guys can tell I am dialed. So, let's get this Cuz as I keep saying, life happens so fast and especially now.
Now that the days are shorter, like it's going to start getting darker at 5:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., which is actually not the method. We We got to fix that as a as a world, bro. You can't tell me anyone who likes daylight savings. But, make time to be more intentional about your side quests. My personal example of side questing is for me biking in New York City last fall was pure blissfulness. Bike through the park, put some music in or sometimes silent, embracing the the birds as the music, the birds chirping as the music.
But, look at all these colors, bro. Olive green, cinnamon brown, burgundy. Just appreciate the moment. Here's some memes. Here's a cool picture of outside my apartment window fire escape, literally right here. And the quest for this one is put one plot on the calendar because when you put something on the calendar, when you write down, "Okay, this day I'm going to do this thing at this time." That makes it intentional.
That makes you more likely to do it and it makes life more fun. There's also the anticipation building upon it. My example is I have a skate Halloween to look forward to. So, maybe I'll be dressing up like a wizard for that. I forgot what step I'm on, but fall maxing media and culture is the next essential. For example, think about the fall aesthetic. It starts to get rainier, the cooler fits, you can layer more, the colors, the earth tones.
So, the fall power up vibe is cozy vibes. Think about it. For summer, the the power up was being outside, maybe you're going to the beach, whatever that may be. For fall, though, it's coziness, warmth, family, friends, enjoying the little moments, enjoying the TV shows. You know, think about it. In summer, you you can be in super into a TV show, but it's like we want to be outside, we want to be exploring during summer.
But, in fall, it starts to get colder, cozier. So, fall is the perfect season to transfer that vibe into getting back into old hobbies. Like for for me example, literally last night there was like some crazy thunderstorm in in New York. It's raining. So, I'm like, "Okay, it's Friday night. I want to go out, but do I really want to go out when it's thun- thundering right now?" So, what did I do? I said what did I do? I called a friend and I was like, "Yo, let's get back on Minecraft." And that's what I did.
I spent my Friday night playing Minecraft for 3 hours. So, I'm just say embrace the the aesthetic of fall, the media, the culture. Find a new obsession that distracts you. I'm not going to yap on about this, but just just embrace the seasons, you know? Step eight to fall maxing this season is think about the fits, the swaggy fashion, bro. As the seasons change, especially in fall and winter. No, honestly, fall might be the number one, bro, for fits.
You get to wear scarves, gloves, fleeces, cool little aesthetic grandpa sweaters. Maybe you even get to get playful with your accessories, putting pins and patches on your hats or jackets or backpacks or whatever it may be. So, yeah, just embrace the fall fashion, buff. Not that you have to go spend all your money on new clothes. Definitely don't do that. But, pull maybe pull that grandpa sweater out of the closet. And step nine to fall maxing, oh my gosh, this might be the biggest one.
Music, guys. Muse the transformation from summer music to fall music is genuinely night and day. It's a light switch. It's like boom. Fall maxing the vibe buff is not not old man music taste, but it's a little slower. It's a little hazier. Cocteau Twins, shoegaze. Indie music gets a vibe buff, bro. MFs genuinely start listen listening to Mach-Hommy, I don't know how to pronounce it. Shoegaze, Mac DeMarco, Mazzy Star, Salem, you know, the the the tiny tattoo hipster artsy goth baddies, bro.
They pop out. Those things start spawning like werewolves when there's a full moon. They got bangs. You know that you know that meme about if if your barista looks like this and has the tiny shitty tattoos and they will probably break your heart and ruin your life, but you know she's making some good coffee, bro. You know she's making some good coffee. It's actually crazy how much sense it makes. Like this music sounds better in fall.
Yes, you can listen to it in summer. But when it's fall, it just sounds 10 times better, bro. Oh, I can't wait to listen to Beach House as the sun's setting. And hopefully, since it's like cuffing season and whatnot, I got a girl in my passenger seat and it's like, "Oh, it'll be a such a vibe, guys. It'll be such a vibe." Um Yeah, if you look like this, send me a Just kidding. But also not kidding, but but also mainly just kidding.
Okay, anyways, uh if I'm going to be honest with you guys, I'm not too into the fall weather, but talking about this right now, yapping about it, just gets me hyped over it. Like obviously, I I like summer weather the best, but I got to embrace the seasons. It's like summer wouldn't be peak if fall didn't come You got to take what What is that quote? It's like you wouldn't know that the bad times of the bad time. You got to have You got to have the the good and the bad to No, I'm just yapping now.
If there's one thing that I want to make clear taking away from this video to you guys not to be on preacher mode, but fall maxing and life maxing, just finding joy in life, is not about having the craziest plots ever. No, no, no. You don't need an Instagram reel highlight every single week to make to make your life a life worth living. It's It's just all about appreciating the beauties of your life, embracing it, romanticizing it.
I mean, going back to this example, what is this picture? I know it's blurry, but it's me journaling on my fire escape right at wall eating. And it's like, yeah, I could have watched YouTube while eat, which is what I do every day a million I've done that a million times before all my life. But it took me 5 seconds to go right out here to my fire escape and said, "All right, I'm going to sit in this moment. I'm going to appreciate it.
Look around." Being Being outside while eating is just so much better than being inside while eating. And journaling, writing it down, archiving it. That is all that life maxing, fall maxing needs to be. It doesn't have to be anything super crazy. Eating your food outside, reading in a park instead of in your room, going working in the library instead of at home, calling a friend on your drive home to work instead of just listening to the same song that you've listened to a thousand times.
Little things like that are what make life not not even worth living just they just make life light. We got to remember that the ordinary is beautiful. That is how we find joy in our lives. We don't need millions of dollars, we don't need the craziest money, we don't need the biggest plots, plans, biggest aesthetic friend group. We don't need any of these stuff that social media and Instagram tries to tell us that we need.
Those are lies, guys. Those are lies. I'm kind of going in a circle now, but if there's one thing that I want you guys to take away is it's just ask yourself, how can I make this season 10% better? What's the smallest thing that I can do? What's the free thing that I can do? That's all life maxing is, that's all fall maxing. And I think more people need it and it's really important. And if you guys can tell by my yapping, I'm very passionate about this.
Not to be too personal here, but the past two years in New York is really what made me realize a life worth living isn't money or plans or anything grand, it's just being intentional and noticing the beauty of what you have now. And that's something that I struggled with for so long. I truly think that I'm just now getting the hang of it. So, if I'm going to be honest, it's like I thought to myself, if I'm struggling with it, other people are probably struggling with it.
So, that's why I'm making this video and actually why I made the guild a community. Not to self promo or anything too much, but you guys know my guild newsletter scrolls that I've been sending out. I actually made it into a real life community. That way you guys can get involved, we can share tips, share ideas, put each other on, hold each other accountable, and just bonus Mateo videos, yaps, vlogs, wisdom, whatever else that doesn't make it into the the YouTube channel.
