Hi, in this tutorial I'm going to show you how to [music] sound design for Botanica. A few days ago, [music] Shameless posted this reel on Instagram. So, I decided to try recreating it in a simpler way. First, we'll create a sequence using [music] kicks. You can use the same kick with different pitch values or mix different types of kicks. Once the sequence is ready, export it and load it into Fruity Granulizer. It's best to place the Granulizer inside a patcher so you have more control and flexibility.
We'll enable the parameters we want to modulate inside patcher [music] and add several free formula controllers. I'll be using five of them to create a randomized effect. I'll be using [music] five of them to create a randomized effect. For each formula controller, paste in the same formula and adjust knob A to [music] taste, depending on how fast you want the modulation to change. Then, enable the output of each controller and link them to the parameters you want to control.
We'll add a few more formula controllers and use them to build an LFO with this formula. >> [music] >> To give the sound more texture, we'll layer in a few extra effects. I'm using a disperser, an effector, and a pitch shifter. Then, we'll start modulating different parameters on each plugin [music] to push that glitchy. With a last set of formula controllers, we'll turn them into [music] on/off switches by using a simple formula.
We'll drive those switches with an LFO so they're constantly toggling on and [music] off over time. I'll use these button-style controllers to enable and disable different plugins, [music] adding more variation to the sound. >> [music] >> I recommend experimenting with more plugins to further improve the results.
