Playing Poker for $60m in Paradise transcript

Hello everybody. First off, I hope everyone had a fantastic [music] holiday season and new year. 2025 was a monumental year for me. I turned 40 [music] and became the first female Triton High Roller winner. And for the first time in my life, I felt like I was living the actual life that I've [music] always dreamed of with financial security, still not having to set an alarm very [music] often, taking care of my health, my family, eating what I want to eat, and going where I [music] want to go.

On top of that, I make semi-regular content, and I always feel the love each time I put something out there. Most of the [music] year, I was ultra single, like the most I'd ever been since I had my first boyfriend when I was like 12. I wasn't what they call talking [music] to anyone, I was celibate. And because I had all this extra time on my hands, I got to put my head down to focus on my own goals and [music] female friendships and figure out the legacy I want to leave in my life.

On top of that, I was newly sponsorless. [music] And it also felt like I had just lost a lot of friends. So there were some pretty rough and emotional days. So I just want to remind [music] some of you that everyone is on their own trajectory and timeline and success is rarely [music] a straight line upwards. I know if you're here you probably play poker and maybe you're a semi-pro or someone who didn't [music] always feel like they belonged on a conventional academic and career path.

It's not always easy. [music] There are rarely clear answers on how to live a good life and everyone's idea of that is going to be a little different. Just don't shy [music] away from asking yourself tough questions just because you don't think you're good enough or because you don't think there's a good chance of achieving your [music] goals anyway. That was definitely my personal experience. And for the ladies out there, I know I felt [music] a lot of pressure to settle down and have kids years ago, perhaps play a support role in someone else's or your own [music] family's life.

But despite there being more recent push back, we live in a wondrous time where we can make our own money [music] and have the autonomy to go where we please instead of stay trapped in toxic relationships. And I am [music] here to make sure it stays that way. You're only as old as you feel. And for better or worse, I still mostly have the same energy levels and zest for life as when I was much younger. Except now [music] I'm also wiser, more confident, self-aware, and with the resources [music] to basically do everything I want to do.

On top of that, I'm done doing things just for the [music] plot. So, unless you're in a dangerous situation, of which I am very familiar, and I truly empathize with those of you who are, you [music] can just decide to change your life almost at any point into one that aligns with your own happiness and remove things that aren't serving you. I'm [music] just a poker player, yes, but being in and out of this world for so long has given me the luxury to experience life on so many unique paths. and [music] I am so happy you're here with me so I can share some of these stories.

Okay, let's get to the Bahamas. I hadn't been there in a few years, but Paradise Island will always hold a very special [music] place in my heart. I'll always remember the first times I stayed here and wasn't established enough [music] to afford my own room, so I just slept on my friend's floor on the cod. Okay, so maybe I am seeing things a bit through rosy glasses and not everything is amazing, but this really is a special property with some of the finest [music] beach views, water parks, and their top-notch mega cool aquarium.

The WSOP [music] Gigi Poker and Triton Festival was right before Christmas, so there were gorgeous trees decorated throughout the property. The first day I arrived, we decided to enjoy the lovely ocean breeze outside by their marina and had some of the tastiest [music] local fair. I am a big seafood girly, so I could have had the Bohemian Kong specialty every day. I was lucky enough to have friends who stayed on a yacht, and I managed to get a seat to this [music] private game and booked a small win for that game, so I was immediately up $42,000 on the trip.

The next day, I fired the first bullet of the $25,000 WSOP Super Main after dinner [music] break. It wasn't a completely intentional strategy to register that late. The unique [music] structure of this event makes it so that a player can be invested for a lot of bullets and money, but I took my seat late mostly because I [music] was waiting around for cash cube news and I wanted to pace myself so I would not be playing too many consecutive long days if I do go deep.

So the very first hand at my table, I actually misclicked. [music] You may be wondering how often does this girl do that? She seems to talk about it a lot in her vlogs. [music] Wait, I thought she was a pro. So here's my explanation. I hadn't even finished unrackcking my chips and I was exchanging hellos [music] with the young super pro Chris Nuan to my left and mistaken one color for another when completing my big blind.

Luckily, it was only a couple of big blinds error. But that was not the way [music] I wanted to start my tournament. I didn't even get to play another hand before my table broke. But then something pretty spicy happened at my new table. I got it in with ace king versus queens. And despite my opponent hitting a queen on the flop, I still managed to win the hand with runner runner quads, I was feeling real good until right before the last level of the night.

Not a lot of people feel [music] great about busting a $25,000 tournament, but shout out to my friend with a yacht again, [music] as I got to hang out in the beautiful Caribbean waters the next day. I am much more mindful about spending [music] too much time in the sun these days with all the info we have now about how sun damage is one of the leading causes [music] of premature aging. But you just can't say no when the weather is this nice.

[music] You're totally going on my vlog. I got to play captain and we anchored to an island and hung out with these adorable pigs. [music] They came in all shapes and sizes, but all the ones on the island are female, including the biggest batty here, Victoria, who gave birth to so many of the little ones. We got to cuddle them for a bit before they got restless just like [music] a lot of babies do. After getting back on the ship and having lunch, I gave [music] back to the community a bit by playing Taiwanese poker, which I had never played before, [music] and just learned the rules, too.

The guys I was playing with were pretty ruthless, and they did not let me get away with any mistakes, of which I made [music] a lot. I lost $5,000 to them, which was my stop loss, so I basically covered gas money for the ship. We'll call it a pretty expensive lesson. [music] The next day, it was back on Paradise Island. I think the aquarium spread out across the property is truly on another level. There are sharks, manta rays, fisher ball sizes, and colors just weaving through the landscaping within arms reach.

On top of that, it's one of the only places in the world that rehabilitates a lot of these creatures when they can't survive on their own in the wild. I also managed to book a last minute [music] tea time to get back into competition mode and prep for my second bullet of the main event. >> Hi, baby. >> I'm going to play on one seat today. I'm starting on the feature table and I just have this big pimple that won't go away.

Hopefully it doesn't show up too much on camera. We're at the feature table. Um, [music] well, one of them. We're not at Allen Keing Cena table, but I think it should still be a lot of fun. Um, and we're playing for a $60 million [music] prize. >> Wonder if this was small three bet pre. Maybe Schwan got a four bet in here or could have been an open jam. Not sure how short John Ander is in the small blind there. There's the man with the kings.

Andres Peralta Cardinas Schwan covering stack by a good chunk has found the wheel gutter. So now aces fours induces the magic and instead it's top [music] set for good measure. 86 78. >> He just doubled with aces versus king. I had a pretty decent day one and [music] bagged an all right stack, which means another day off to enjoy the sunshine. Of course, we [music] had to keep the blood flowing, so we did a lot of moving around for our day off.

For [music] breakfast day two, I had a nice nourishing Bahamian fish soup. Lean protein is what allows me the best mental clarity and stamina [music] for a long day of play. It was really nice to have family come with me on a trip. They really helped with making everything as carefree as possible [music] so I can just focus on competing. I was kind of running late for the restart, but luckily I bumped into Alan who gave me a ride.

Alan [music] just said business comes first. I'm learning. I'm very new to the business world, but uh we both have a day [music] two today. He has more chips than me. I saw you knock out Sheena. I think everybody was kind of sad about that. >> Yeah. Yeah. I felt mixed about it, too. But I think she's in it today and uh we're going to try and make it day three. We are on [music] the TV table. Today is day two. I am here at the stream table with Christy in the Super Main. >> At the tournament, I sat next to the man of the hour, Khan Moore. all day.

He just took down the 250,000 [music] buyin Triton Invitational for almost $8 million and was rightfully Jovio for most of it. We are on dinner break of day two. [music] I ran up this path and now we're just having fun. I was lucky enough [music] to go off A4 house versus someone else's trip. Leave that pot. Yeah, [music] we're we're coasting. We're on the bubble. I think we're eight from the money and uh we have a bunch of short sacks.

[music] So, we're just, you know, maneuvering a little bit. I ran to my room on dinner break because [music] it's 9:00 p.m. It's really late dinner break and I think that we don't finish playing till [music] like probably 2:00 a.m. if I make day three. So, I am in my room and I'm making some [music] hot cuisine here. Yes, my cousin went to buy some instant noodles, and I'm glad because this come in handy. This is going to be my dinner tonight, and it's going to be delicious.

I also had the one and only Chrissy be at the table as well. It was such a long, grueling bubble, and unfortunately, she finished [music] two from the money here, but I believe she already cashed this event on a different flight, so I'm sure she'll be just fine. After the bubble burst, things went by so fast because [music] there were so many short stacks hanging on to Dear Life for so long. This happens often in [music] tournaments.

If you don't get good cards at this stage, you will often have a tough time keeping up with the shifting stacks since there will be a lot of pre flop allins. So whereas on the bubble I was second in chips at my table, I won almost no hands after [music] that. Six of the players at the table got replaced and we played super late down to I believe about 8% of the field. So, we finished at around 2:30 [music] a.m. I only slept a few hours that night, and I think it was starting to show at my last table [music] of the tournament.

We got a few all-ins through until this hand where one of the table chip leaders, fellow [music] Canadian pro Chanty Kun, opens from under the gun seven, and we go all in on just [music] over 11 big blinds with pocket nines. We aren't super thrilled to shove versus an early [music] position open, but we have work to do to win the tournament, and we are not going to pass on this spot. He should be opening pretty [music] wide and folding often enough that this is still a profitable all-in.

All right, I just busted the main. Obviously not very happy about that, but we only came into the day with 12 big blinds. We jammed over and open with pocket 9ines and they had pocket aces. So that's it for us. I'm going to jump into this Turbo Bounty. It's a $2,70050 event and hopefully we can win a bracelet. For one of my last meals, I went to the Pop-Up Thai restaurant. It was my favorite place to eat this trip and it was a nice finale.

All in all, I had a pretty fun and profitable trip. I made about 42,000 [music] in cash games, of which I kept about 2/3. I gave back 5,000 in Taiwanese, netted about 10,000 [music] in tournament winnings after my $70,000 cash, but lost another minimum 5,000 on swaps. I think I also [music] spent about $5,000 on the trip between flights, food, and incidentals for the 10 days. So, from a poker trip standpoint, I made about 22,000 to wrap [music] up my final month of 2025.

I was also part of the WSOP poker creator promotion, so I did get some kickback for that. And I certainly appreciate GG [music] Poker's generosity and hospitality.
