I Built an INSANELY Profitable AI Trading Bot for FREE (Full Guide) transcript

I built this AI trading bot with Hermes agent and just have a look at some of these results. But like me, you've probably seen equity curves all over X and not a single person explaining what's behind those bots. So today, I'm going to show you a full complete setup, how I built it, how I tested it, and how you can build your own step by step. I've been doing this for over 5 years here on YouTube. And at the end, I'll finish with some lessons of the things that I've actually learned before you actually risk any real money.

But for that to happen, we're going to have to start right now. Okay, let's start by going through a road map of today's video so that there are no surprises. I'm going to show you first of all how to install Hermes Agent and all of the dependents needed. We're then going to go through connecting everything together. where possible. I've used free tools. And as always, most of the tools that you need, you most probably already have a subscription for.

Anyway, once we've connected everything together, I'm going to go through the models that are available, and I'm going to share with you which one I personally use for which job, which will help us to save on tokens. Then, we'll be creating a control panel like the one that you can see on the screen, so it can organize all of the strategies that your bot is building, and you can work out which strategies you would like to trade.

Once that's all done, we're going to glue it all together, build our first trading bot. We will then test and understand those results, and then finally, I'll give you my opinion and what I've learned over the past 5 years that have saved me thousands of dollars. Okay, let's get straight to it. The first thing I'm going to show you on the screen right now is exactly what we're going to be building. So, a Hermes agent is the framework that allows us to build autonomous agents that are actually going to go away and find strategies for us, build those strategies, and eventually even trade them.

Now, you might ask, why don't we just use chat GBT or Claude Code for this? And my answer is that ChatGpt is an agent that you talk to, as Hermes is a little bit more like an autonomous agent. You give it a job, an environment, and it just keeps working. It uses the tools, remembers the processes and procedures, it spawns helpers and automates everything. Now, the great thing about Hermes is you can use both Claude, ChatgBT, Grock, or any other model directly inside of Hermes agent, and they can actually even talk to each other.

Okay, so let's get starting building our autonomous AI trading desk right now. Okay, so I'm going to go over to the Humg website. We're going to start by installing. I'm currently on Mac. We're going to use the terminal version. If you're on Linux or Windows, the process is pretty much the same. So, there is a little line of code just here. We're going to copy that. Go up to here, and we're going to search for terminal.

We're going to paste that line of code that we just copied from the website directly into the terminal. We're going to hit enter, and that is going to go away and install everything. Now, this may take a little bit of time because it is installing a lot of packages and a lot of value. Once everything's installed, we're going to go through an onboarding step-by-step process of actually installing everything. So, the first thing that they're going to ask is which provider we'd like to use.

Personally, I'm going to be using Open AI. As you can see, there are tons and tons of models that you can actually choose from. I use Open AAI and Anthropic. And and a good thing about Open AI is the chat GPT subscription allows you to connect your existing subscription directly into Hermes. I'm going to hit enter. It's going to ask me if I'd like to use API or subscription. If you got a subscription, I suggest using a subscription.

It will cost you a lot less money. It will then ask you to authenticate your Chat GBT subscription. By hitting enter, it will give you a link that you need to open in your browser. In the browser, it will ask you to log in and enter a code from the terminal window, which you'll find just here. And then boom, there you go. You have chat GBT installed on Hermes. We're then going to choose a model. I'm just going to use GPT6 Astra for the moment.

And we'll look at other models later for different jobs. I'm going to select the default reasoning effort. And then we're asked to install a messaging platform. Now, Hermes is pretty cool because we get access to multiple AI models, but not only that, we can communicate directly from Telegram, WhatsApp, and multiple messaging apps. First, now I'm going to just select Telegram and SMS, and hit enter. It's going to ask us to configure our Telegram bot.

Now, there's two ways of doing this. You can either choose automatic, which is the recommended way, or manual. Let's go with automatic. I'm going to hit one, enter. It will give you a link that you need to copy and paste into your browser which will open your desktop version of Hermes. Now, you do have to go through the steps of building a bot. Click create bot. Give it a name and a username. Press create. I've already got one just here, so I'm going to be using this one here.

Once that's done, it will ask you if you'd like to restart the gateway. We're going to press yes, and that is going to go away and restart Hermes Agent. Once it's restarted, you're asked which tools you would like to install. There is a huge list of tools from X, text to speech, skills, tasks, MCP servers, memory. So, so much value that's come from this community. I'm just going to use the default ones that are selected, but you can go through them and activate the ones that you want.

And once that's done, everything is ready to set up. you have multiple ways of now actually talking to your AI agent. Okay, now that's done, we can go over to our AI agent and speak to it directly inside of Telegram. Make sure that everything is connected. as you can see is absolutely perfect. But personally, I prefer to type out the command Hermes desktop, which will launch the desktop version, which has become my favorite way of talking with Hermes agent over the past couple of months, especially since they added this new bot feature, which looks very, very much like Grock bot.

Okay, [snorts] congratulations. We now have Hermes agent installed on our desktop. This was probably one of the hardest parts of the whole of this video. So, give yourself a little pat on the back and let's move on to the next step. In the next step, we're going to be giving Hermes agent all of the tools that it needs to be able to back test, build strategies, and even automate them as the end result. Okay, for us to get started, we're going to need to start installing the tools.

But, we will need our first bot. There are two default bots here. Let's start by building a bot. Click new bot. Give it a name. We're going to call it the SEO because it's going to be managing all of the tasks. I'm going to click on create bot. It's going to go away and create that bot for us, which we can find just here. Let's just make sure that everything is now connected by saying hello and introducing ourselves.

Hey there buddy, my name's David. How you going? And boom, there we have our m first message from our homies bot. Right. Okay. We need to now go away and connect the tools for Hermes to be able to actually back test strategies. We're going to be using Trading View. Trading View is one of the number one charting platforms in the world, but we're not going to directly connect our Trading View account because that will risk us getting banned.

We're going to be using a tool called tradingkit.com, which is absolutely free of charge and allows you to back test Trading View strategies. This was built by my community and as a community we have back tested over 1 million trading strategies. You can get access to all of the code of these strategies and even optimize and build upon these strategies as well. But today we're just going to be using the back tester tool which allows us to build profitable trading strategies for free inside of Hermes.

Okay. So, we need to create a free account. Then, we need to log in and click on account just up the top up here and copy this line of code just here. We're going to go back and we're going to go over to Hermes. Paste it in there and say, "Hey there, buddy. Could you please install this MCP server onto Hermes and make it available to all of the Hermes agents and bots?" Hit enter. It will go away, install that MCP server for free.

You will then need to go back to the website and authenticate it by copying this code just here, pasting that code, hitting enter, and everything will be automated for you. I already did this full process. Next step, we're going to just test to see if it's actually working. Hey there, buddy. I'd like to make sure that the MCP7 for back testing strategies is available. Could you back test a very simple trading view strategy for me on the 1 hour time frame? do it on BTCUSDT and boom, we hit enter and you get a full description of the strategy, what it was back tested on, and the actual stats that come from Trading View.

Now, this has given us absolute superpowers. We can now back test hundreds and thousands of trading strategies with no risk of getting banned on Trading View. And if we ask Hermes to give us the code and create a control panel or a mission control, you'll be able to find all of those strategies in one single place. Now, this is something I used to do manually every single day. And I can tell you that AI has completely changed the way I do things and made things so much more simpler for us ALGO traders.

Now that we have all of the tools in place, the next step is to build out our AI trading desk. To do that, I have put together a bunch of skills and prompts that you'll be able to find down in the description down below. We're going to use those prompts to build out multiple agents that are just going to talk to each other, build strategies, and most importantly, create a schedule. This schedule is defined by you and depends on the amount of strategies that you actually want to build.

I personally run these schedules to run every 10 minutes, meaning that my bots are actually building strategies and confirming that whether they work or not multiple times every hour. Okay, to do this, here is the prompt we're going to be using. Now, I built a token efficient strategy because I built this on Grogbot which burnt through millions of tokens just so the agents could talk to each other and a lot of the time it was just to say nothing.

So, first thing it's going to do is create an agent called Gertrude. Gertrude is the chief of staff. She is going to be looking after building all of the other agents, giving green lights to strategies, which one should be parked, which ones should actually work. Then we will build other agents including a builder, researcher, pine scriptor and optimizer. This single agent will take care of researching your strategies, developing them and optimizing them to find the best results.

And then we have a couple of optional bots which you can either use or not. We have a watch list bot which will back test them on different coin pairs or different assets. And after that we will create a group chat. That group chat is where everybody will be talking and you'll be able to interact with Gertrude and ask her questions and get access to the Pine scripts that have been built. So, I'm going to copy this over to Hermes agents.

We paste it here and we press enter. Okay, once that is done, as you can see, Hermes agent has built all of the agents. We have three brand new agents just here. Our bomb builder has already replied to to the CEO and started building its first strategies. We have the tape that's going to go away and take those strategies and back test them on other assets. And this is just the start of your AI trading desk. Okay, so that's absolutely wonderful.

We now have our AI agents actively finding strategies for us. Our next step is to build a mission control, which is extremely easy to do thanks to AI nowadays. We're going to build something that looks very, very similar to this. This is my version. It's on a trading arena.com where you can see me testing strategies on all of the AI agents just like this. To do this, I'm going to literally take one prompt, which is my mission control prompt, which you can get directly, as I said earlier, down in the description down below.

And we're going to take that. We're going to go back over to Hermes agent, create a brand new bot, call it Mission Control. We're going to paste in the prompt. We're going to hit enter. It's going to go away and wake up mission control and build out a local version. And if you want, you can go away and take a screenshot of my mission control so that your agent can be inspired by it and paste it in with the prompt. Hit enter.

And this will take Hermes about 5 minutes to build. Okay. While that has gone away to build your control panel, we can go back over to our AI agents and builders. And I have built another prompt for those AI agents to explain exactly how they're going to update the control panel. Now, you will need to ask mission control for your local URL and your API key. We're then just going to go away and copy and paste it over to Hermes over to our leader.

We're going to hit enter and that will create the connection between your AI agents. This will take around 15 minutes for it to build and you will end up with something that looks just like this. You now officially have access to an AI trading research desk where you can add more agents or remove the agents using Gertrude to help you on the way. For example, you can ask Gertrude to add a risk management agent, an optimizer agent, and any other agent that really will help you on your journey.

Like I said earlier, this took me and my team days upon end every single week building strategies to get where I am today. And now everybody can do it thanks to AI. Okay, so before we go any further, the next step is going to be actually automating these strategies. How do we go about and actually take trades and what kind of AI agent can help us manage those trades to make sure that our bot has still got an edge? But before we do that, I'd just like to touch upon one thing which is a very very important rule.

All of these strategies might look absolutely amazing, but you will need to take them and put them into a forward testing period. Forward testing means that you stop your back test today. You come back in 3 months for example and look at that chart once again and you make sure that the actual trading strategy has continued to take trades. The equity curve still looks good and the stats like the profit factor, max draw down, and your win rate are still coherent.

The problem with back testing lots of strategies is once you put them into live trading, 90% of those strategies will actually fail. Okay, so now imagine you've put your strategies into that forward testing period and you want to now actually go away and automate the process. The next step is to put these strategies onto Trading View, which unfortunately I haven't been able to automate just as yet, but it's a pretty simple process.

We're just going to go over to Trading View and add our strategy. Okay, so in your mission control is pretty cool. You'll be able to download the Pine script by clicking over here. You can then go over to your Trading View account. You'll be able to copy the Pine script that you've just downloaded over into the Pine editor just here. Copy and paste it. That way, you'll be able to back test that trading strategy using Trading View to verify your results.

Once you have verified your results, we're going to go over to a middleman service. I'm going to be using Trigger. It's one that was built by my community. It's free for all of the members. You'll be able to find a link down in the description as well. Trigger Trade allows us to automate trading strategies on Trading View. What is cool is it also has a MCP server which allows you to automate and manage all of those strategies on Trading View with very little effort.

I'm going to show you manually how to set this up so you can see exactly what happens inside of Claude without you actually having to do this. Okay, I'm on trigger.trade. I'm already signed in to my account. We're going to choose an account here. I'm going to be using this broker just here. We're going to add our API keys and secrets which you'll be able to find on your broker's page very very simply in the avatar up at the top.

We're going to press continue. It's going to ask us questions about the stop losses and take profit. I'm going to be using David take strategies just here. And then it's going to give us some code. We're going to be able to go back over to our trading strategy on trading view. We're going to go here and we're going to be using the alerts system just here which allows us to connect the trades from trading view over to your broker.

We click here. We paste the message in just here that we've taken from trigger trade just here and we're going to give it a name. We then press apply. We will then finally need to go and pick up the web hook URL just here. Paste it in here and press apply. That will create a brand new alert just like this one. just here which allows for every time that there's a trade here on trading view to ping a trade on directly on your broker.

And as I said earlier, you can also do this directly inside of Hermes. Just click on this button here. This will create a connection between Hermes and your exchange. You have to provide all the information directly to Hermes instead of the trigger trade website. Everything is anonymous on the trigger trade website. Nothing is stored in the slightest. So we can copy that over directly over to Hermes. We can create a trading agent for that.

And then finally, we can build another agent that will be able to risk manage those strategies. Now, this is something that I go over in our school and we're building together and multiple members of my community have actually come up with ways of fully automating the whole of this process. Okay guys, in this video we've gone all the way from building a Hermes agent, installing it, connecting over to the trading view so that we can actually build strategies.

We then built a full research agent which is going to go away autonomously and find you your own strategies. And then thanks to Trigger Trade, you'll be able to automate all of that without ever having to lift that finger. But let's just take a couple of seconds to do some real talk. Let's talk about whether or not it is that simple. I've been doing this for over 5 years back testing and creating strategies with my community.

We are 9,000 people. We managed to back test over 2,000 strategies on multiple assets on multiple time frames. As a community of 9,000 people, this made my life a lot lot easier. But now we have AI and this is now available to everybody. So, as a trader, you no longer need to be able to code these strategies. You don't have to rely on other traders signals. You can do everything yourself. But there are a couple of things that you do need to know.

Like I said earlier, 90% of these strategies will end up in the trash. I've back tested over 2,000 strategies and actually only trade seven strategies. Those seven strategies are just strategies that fit me as a trader, my lifestyle, and how I actually want to trade. But that shows you personally how many strategies as a trader that I've actually thrown away and how much time it's actually taken for me to get to those seven strategies.

Sometimes it's a bit of an uphill battle as a trader. It is hard work, but AI will be able to answer questions all of the way. You can do all of this yourself. You do not have to sign up for any community whatsoever. I've given you all of the information that you need to get started.
