The Fastest & MOST Efficient Way to Reach 2200 Gear Score in AION 2 transcript

If you clicked on this video, there's a pretty good chance you have no idea what the hell you're supposed to be doing to progress your character. And honestly, I don't blame you. Aion 2 throws a ridiculous amount of systems, currencies, gear, quests, and different types of content at you, and it's not exactly great at telling you what you should actually be focusing on. So, in this video, I'm going to show you exactly what I did on a completely fresh character to go from level 1 to 2,200 gear score in just 7 days without using any form of growth support.

The goal here is very simple. Season 1 progression, manual grinding, and getting your gear score high enough to unlock the end game as quickly as possible. And I'm specifically doing this in a way that I think it's reasonably realistic for a global release environment, rather than relying on some insane amount of resources that the most players simply won't have. Before we start, though, there are two different numbers you need to understand.

You have gear score or item level, and you have combat power. Gear score is basically your character's raw progression number. It comes primarily from your equipment and item levels, and it's used as an entry requirement for different pieces of content. But having a high gear score doesn't necessarily mean your character is strong. You can slap some decent gear on your character, hit the required gear score, and still have pretty mediocre actual stats.

Combat power is different. Combat power is the number that better represents your actual combat efficiency, and it increases through gear upgrades, stats, and all of the different progression systems in the game. And that's important because this video is almost entirely focused on gear score. The goal isn't to create the strongest possible character. The goal is to unlock as much Season 1 content as possible as quickly as possible, So, you can then start working on your actual power.

The very first thing you need to do is get your character to level 45. [music] There are obviously multiple ways you can level, but if your goal is speed, just do the main story quest. If you optimize everything and basically speedrun the process, you can reach level 45 in around 3 and 1/2 hours. For a normal player, I'd say 5 hours or less is a realistic target. And once you hit 45, this is where the progression starts getting interesting.

If you are serious about progressing efficiently, you're going to want some alts. Go back to the character screen and create one to three alts. Level each of them to level 22, stopping at the point in the main story quest right before Kraal Cave. It takes roughly 1 hour per alt to reach this point. Why are we doing this? Because reaching this point unlocks the expedition menu and starts your Odiel energy recharge. And the expeditions are extremely useful because they generate unbound kinah.

With three alts, you can generate millions of kinah every single day, which you can then funnel into your main character. So yes, you're going to have to play an alt simulator for a little bit. But if you're trying to push your main character as efficiently as possible, it's absolutely worth to do it. Now let's get back to the main character. Once you hit level 45, you should generally be somewhere around 850 to 950 gear score, depending on how many side quests you completed while leveling.

Our immediate goal is 1,000 gear score. And there is a very easy way to get there. Open your map and look for two quests that reward the clash rune chest. Complete both of those quests, equip both clash runes, and each one gives you 40 gear score. That puts you at 1,000 gear score. If it doesn't, complete a few more side quests that reward blue accessories. Once you are there, fully finish the main story quest. This will give you a yellow weapon, which you're going to enhance to plus five.

Then open your journal, select five duty missions, and complete them. When choosing your rewards, prioritize things like enhancement stones, pet crystals, abyss points, and cube keys. After that, your progression basically becomes one giant checklist. First, complete all sealed dungeons. These give you kinah, devanian points, skill points, and other useful resources. Then complete all soul holes because they give you the materials you need to upgrade your belt.

Next, collect around 190 feathers and deliver them. This gives you the materials required to upgrade your amulet. Eventually, you're going to want all of the feathers anyway, but 190 is important milestone here. After that, complete every green side quest you can find. These give you the highest blue tier accessories, along with a lot of devanian points and skill points, and every 3 hours make sure you're entering the dimensional rift.

Use those rifts to complete the remaining side quests and start working through every sealed dungeon and stronghold on the opposite faction map. You won't finish the entire opposite map in one rift. It took me about two and a half rifts to clear everything. And finally, whenever you see Shugo's and invasions pop up next to your mini-map, go do them. They can give you some really useful early game stuff. So, there's no reason to ignore them.

Once you've done all of that, use substance morph to upgrade your belt and amulet to yellow grade. Then complete your next ascension quest. That gives you a yellow grade bracelet, which you're going to be using for quite a while. Enhance that bracelet to plus five for now. At this point, your character should look roughly like this, and you should be above 1,500 gear score. And that's important because you've now unlocked tier two conquest expeditions.

And getting to this point should be possible on the first day, depending how much you actually play. From here until you reach 2,200 gear score, your main objective is extremely simple. Dump your Odella energy into Varkon's Sky Island. I've already got a full guide on Varkon's Sky Island on my channel if you need it, but this is where you're going to start farming tier two yellow armor. First, you will want to complete three runs of Varkon's Sky Island exploration mode and grab the loot cube at the end.

This unlocks the condensed cube. But here's an important little trick. Don't claim the reward yet. Leave it there until you have acquired more gear, and then use it for whichever final piece you're missing. After that, start spamming the conquest version. Your goal is to pray to the RNG gods and get at least four gear pieces before reaching the condensed chest, which unlocks after 21 clears. That gives you two guaranteed drops at the end, which you can use to fill in the pieces you're still missing.

And as soon as you get a new piece, enhance it to plus five. Now, obviously, you cannot spam Vacant Sky Island forever because your Odal energy is limited each day. So, while you're waiting for that energy to come back, you want to keep progressing elsewhere. First, you will want to level up your alts to 45 and start doing the same loop as on your fresh level 45 main character to reach 1,400 gear score, which will unlock the tier two expeditions.

And then just spam it every day on all of your alts. Then on your main, complete weekly 12 command contracts. Again, prioritize rewards like enhancement stones, pet crystals, abyss points, cube keys, or whatever other resource you're currently lacking. Once those are done, it's time to head into the abyss. Go to the merchant and pick up the available weekly contracts, focusing primarily on stigma shards, abyss points, and pet crystals.

Then I just start completing them. And you're getting two things from this at the same time. The contracts themselves gives you abyss points, but you're also killing monsters while doing them, which means you are naturally farming even more abyss points. While you are there, take your time collecting feathers as well. Those feathers give you Davanian crystals, but for the PvP board. Your main target here is 200,000 abyss points.

Once you hit around 200,000 abyss points, go to the shop and buy two tier one rings, two tier one earrings, and one tier one necklace. Enhance all of them to plus five and equip them. At that point, your accessories are basically sorted, your weapon is sorted, and you're continuing to farm the armor pieces.

Just keep in mind that on global a base point prices for the tier one PvP gear might be different. And then, depending on how lucky you have been with your expedition drops, you should now be somewhere around 1,800 to 1,900 gear score. This is where we start doing a little bit of optimization. First, make sure every piece of gear has mana stone stats rolled. You don't need to go crazy here. Just do a few rolls and try to get one or two green stats.

Don't waste all of your resources trying to create perfect pieces yet. Then apply the Theo stone to both of your weapon and your guard. Once all of your gear pieces are at plus five, start pushing them to plus seven, but keep your clash runes at plus two because they can break if you fail the upgrade. During all of this down time, you should also be farming pets and slowly working on your genus inside. >> [music] >> Every once in a while, check your pantheon as well.

You might have better statues available that you can equip for additional gear score. If you're running low on enhancement stones, do the daily dungeon that gives them. But for the other daily dungeon, I strongly recommend focusing on pets as your rewards. And make sure you're completing the highest nightmare you can. You should also be buying the Daevanion crystals from the shop for the PvE board. Eventually, you'll get to the point where your character looks something like this, putting you at around 2,200 gear score.

And this is a major milestone because you've now unlocked tier three conquest expeditions. And from here, the entire process basically repeats, except now you're farming ferocious horn den for Nuakum gear. This is going to be the best non-crafted gear in season one on global, so unlike the earlier pieces, every piece you get here is potentially your final piece, which means this is where you really want to start optimizing your stats properly.

For accessories, Fire Temple is going to provide you with the best PvE accessories. You should also start working on your crafting level because eventually you will want to craft at least your weapon. Crafted weapons are the best weapons in the game. At the same time, you can start farming either stage two or stage three transcendents for Arcana cards. And this can give you a pretty massive spike in gear score. Your next major goal is going to be 2,700 gear score because that unlocks stage four transcendents.

And after that, you're aiming for 2,800 gear score, which unlocks the Ludra Sanctuary raid. Getting all the way there is obviously going to take a lot more time. But this is also where I would stop treating gear score as your primary objective. Once you are past 2,200 gear score, your main focus should shift toward increasing your combat power because gear score is eventually going to come naturally as your combat power increases.

And that's basically everything I did to push a completely fresh character through this progression. From level one all the way through the early game into tier two and eventually toward tier three content. And again, getting to 2,200 gear score is possible in around 7 to 10 days if your RNG is good. Just keep in mind that this entire process is specifically designed around one thing. Getting gear score as high as possible as quickly as possible.

Your gear score isn't your actual power. It mainly exists to unlock content, which then gives you access to better gear, better materials, and more progression systems. Your actual character strength comes from combat power. So once you've unlocked the content you need, don't obsess over the number. Start investing into the systems that actually make your character stronger. Hopefully this gives you a much clearer idea of exactly what you should be doing on a fresh character instead of logging in and staring at 15 different menus wondering what the hell you're supposed to click.

But the biggest thing you should keep in mind that some of these things might have changed for the global. And if they do, I will make an updated video after the global release.
