AYN Thor: My UPDATED Games Library! transcript

All right, guys. In this one, I'm going to be going through my new and updated games library for my AYN Thor. So, I posted a video of this not too long ago and it got very popular, which I did not expect. A lot of you guys left comments for game recommendations that you thought I should get. This is just a follow-up video, essentially, just to go through all the games I have on my Thor and my new updated games library.

For those asking, this is the Kakun launcher, my preferred launcher of choice. I have used a bunch of other ones and I've actually made a video already of going through the front ends that I've used and I'm probably going to make another one cuz there's a few that I missed. So, I'm going to make another one, an updated one, and hopefully that will go out soon. This is Kakun. I'm just going to go through each game and each console and just kind of take you through it.

With Kakun, you can actually pin your recent games that you've played or your favorite games on the left side here. As you guys can see, I've got Pokémon Shield, which is one that I'm playing through right now. I'm actually playing through three Pokémon right now. I'm playing through Shield, Luminescent Platinum, and Soul Silver. So, these are all three games that I'm playing currently and all of them have been so much fun.

Like, I I honestly can't get enough of each of them. But yeah, let's get on with the rest of the consoles. So, most of my updated games actually came through new Switch titles, a few DS and 3DS titles, mostly. And then a few like on PlayStation 2, PSP, and [music] the GameCube, just to name a few. Let's start off with the Game Boy Advance and I'll go from left to right. We have Mario Kart Super Circuit, Pokémon Emerald, Super Mario World 2, Zelda: A Link to the Past Four Swords, Doom, Sonic Advance, Zelda: The Minish Cap, Metroid Fusion, Pokémon Fire Red, Wario Land 4, Super Mario Advance, and Pokémon Leaf Green.

So, for Game Boy Advance, not too many new games. Next, let's move on to the PlayStation 2. We have Street Fighter Anniversary Collection, Prince of Persia The Sands of Time, which again, one of my favorite games I've ever played when I was a kid, so super excited to play this again. We have another classic Need for Speed Underground 2, Jak 2: Renegade, The Simpsons: Hit & Run, which was another childhood classic, which I can't wait to play through again.

We have Gran Turismo 4, Kingdom Hearts, which I've actually never played Kingdom Hearts, and I've heard of course like it's a classic and a lot of great things about it, so that's another one I can't wait to play. Ratchet & Clank, another childhood classic, and Sega Classics, speaking of classics. Let's move on to the Super Nintendo. Starting from left to right, we've got Super Metroid, Street Fighter II Turbo, Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country 2, Donkey Kong Country, Chrono Trigger, and I've got a few comments for people saying that why did I have Chrono Trigger on SNES and not the DS?

I do actually have it on the DS. I didn't realize that they had a DS version, so I'm definitely going to play it on the DS. We have Kirby Super Star, Zelda: A Link to the Past, Mega Man X, Super Mario All-Stars, Mega Man X3, Mega Man X2, >> [music] >> Super Mario RPG, which I've also got the Switch variant of this. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, and Tetris Attack, which was another uh comment recommendation, so big thumbs up for that, guys.

Thank you so much for the recommendations. We have Nintendo Wii, which I did have kind of a rant about in my video before. Because the Wii had a weird controller, the right analog stick, which I've mapped it to, it don't really translate well on the AYN Odin, which means most of the games that are on the Wii don't play the best, but I've got them on here anyway just in case I want to try it out. We have Modern Warfare Reflex, New Super Mario Bros.

Wii, Mario Kart Wii, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, Medal of Honor Vanguard, Call of Duty: World at War, Rayman Origins, Super Paper Mario, WarioLand: Shake It, Xenoblade Chronicles, and WarioLand: The Shake Dimension. Right, let's get onto the Dreamcast. Only a few here. We have Marvel vs. Capcom, and Sonic Adventure 2. And I've got two variants of Street Fighter 3 for some reason, which I think is just a miss scan in Cocoon, so I'll probably remove that at some point.

I'm still getting the same issue with loading Dreamcast games, cuz if I load into this one, you'll see that it has the same issue of it just not loading, even though I did check all the files and make sure they were all correct. So, I'm not sure exactly what's going on here. And as you can see, it's just not loading, even if I try and exit out of that, we can try again, cuz this is meant to be using RetroArch, so I'm not sure why RetroArch isn't loading Dreamcast.

If anyone knows how to fix that, please let me know. I'm still looking for an answer to that, but yeah, no worries about that. Plenty more to play on the Thor, which is completely fine. Moving onto PlayStation Portable, PSP. Just a few on here. We have Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, which was another recommendation, which I cannot wait to play. I've never played the Monster Hunter games, I'll be honest, so I'm looking forward to it.

We have God of War: Ghost of Sparta. I do need to get Chains of Olympus, but because I've got so many other games that I'm playing through right now, it's not a necessity for me to get it on here right away. Like, if you just have way too many games, I'm talking like thousands of games. The collection's cool, but then you just won't end up playing through any of the games cuz of choice paralysis. So, I feel like a healthy handful is great and then just kind of play through the games that you have.

We have Gran Turismo again. Wipeout Pulse, Resistance Retribution, which is one that I remember distinctly playing as a kid. I thought it like it was like the best game on the PSP when I had it. And Jak and Daxter. Leave in the comments, guys, what PSP did you have? I had specifically the PSP 2000. Right, moving on to the Game Boy Color. Just two here, guys, keeping it light. We have Pokémon Crystal and Super Mario Bros.

Deluxe. Now, you're probably thinking, why have I only got so few Game Boy Color games? So, I've actually got more Game Boy games and Game Boy Color because most of the Game Boy Color games got remade or remastered for other consoles that Nintendo had, so like the DS and the 3DS. So, I'm probably just going to play those variants of the games rather than just have a load of Game Boy Color titles on the floor. Speaking of Game Boy, let's get into Game Boy.

We have Pac-Man, Tetris, Contra, Dangan GB, Castlevania II, Street Fighter II Turbo, Donkey Kong, Kirby's Dream Land II, Zelda: Link's Awakening, which I've also got the Switch variant of, Pokémon Blue, Pinball Deluxe, Mega Man World 5, Pokémon Red, and Super Mario Land. Again, the Game Boy has just all the classics that if I ever want to just go back to it, I can just experience the classics. But most likely, I'm probably just going to play the other variants for the other consoles.

I'm going to do the GameCube first cuz I'm going to get to the Switch, the 3DS, and the DS cuz that's where most of my game library is. So, let's do the GameCube first. We have Pac-Man Vs. We have Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, which was a new addition. Crash Nitro Kart, again another childhood banger. Zelda: Wind Waker, which was another comment suggestion. So, thank you so much, guys, for the comments. I do read them all.

I'm also planning to just make a long Zelda like play-through cuz I've actually never played any of the Zelda games, believe it or not. So, I'm probably just going to make use of it as in experience it for the first time with you guys and my experience cuz that's the thing, I never had the consoles. I never bought the games growing up. So, I don't have the nostalgia attached to it, which is kind of crazy. A lot of you will probably look at me and go, "He's not a gamer." It's fine.

It's honestly fine. That's why I've got the thought to play through all the games. And we have F-Zero GX, Mario Kart: Double Dash, Mario Party 7, Mario Power Tennis, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, which I also have the Switch variant of, and Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc. Let's do the DS first cuz the 3DS and the Switch are my largest game libraries. We have Brain Boost: Gamma Wave. We have Pokémon Soul Silver, of course.

We have Cars, which was a game I distinctly remember playing on my DS Lite. We have Brain Boost again. Mario Kart DS, New Super Mario Bros., another classic. All the Pokémons, guys. All the Pokémons. We got Pokémon Diamond. We have Kirby: Super Star Ultra. We have Call of Duty: Black Ops, which I've heard is really fun for the DS. So, I'm going to play through this and see what it's like. I mean, Black Ops was a banger of a game, so I'm just curious to see what it's like on the DS.

We have Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, which was another comment suggestion. Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Chrono Trigger, which is the version that you guys were telling me to play. So, this is the one I'm going to play. Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time, which was another comment suggestion, so thank you guys. Metroid Prime Hunters, Pinball Deluxe, Pokémon HeartGold, Pokémon Black 2, Pokémon Black, Pokémon Platinum, which I've got luminous and platinum as a mod for the switch version, but I'll come to that later.

Pokémon White and White 2. Guys, I've heard Pokémon Black, Black 2, and White, White 2 are like one of the best Pokémon games like all couple of games. I cannot wait to play these titles. Excited is an understatement. We have the Professor Layton series, so we got Pandora's Box. We have Prince of Persia The Fallen King. We have Pokémon Conquest. We have Professor Layton and the Curious Village. We have Professor Layton and the Unwound Future.

And we have Professor Layton Specter's Call. We have Zoo Keeper, which was a recommendation from Retro Game Corps himself. And we have Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions, which was another comment suggestion, so thank you guys. And I do read them. Be sure to leave comments, guys. I do read them all. Let's do 3DS and then we'll get into Switch. So, 3DS, which is one of the bigger game libraries on here, especially since the AYN Thor is essentially modeling a 3DS.

So, it just makes sense to have a massive 3DS game library. Not to mention, I never had a 3DS growing up. So, the fact I get to play all these games [music] on an upgraded upgraded 3DS is like the best thing ever. We have Lego Batman 2. We have Lego Batman 2. Super Mario Maker for the 3DS. Quick question for Super Mario Maker. It comes with this on the bottom screen. It says no me was found, and then it just won't let me press anything.

[music] And it says press the home button to return to the home menu. I've set the R3 button to trigger the home button or the R2, and neither works. So, I'm not sure what to do. If you guys have any suggestions, please let me know in the comments. Right, we have Mario Kart 7. we have Street Fighter 4 3D Edition, we have New Super Mario Bros. 2, Pro Evolution Soccer 2013, which honestly is just a throwback for me and I can't wait to play.

I've just noticed the artwork isn't the best for this, so I'm going to show you guys how to change it right now. If you're using Citra, the nice thing is you can just change the actual artwork for each game separately. So, if you just hit the Y button, you go to edit and then from edit, you go to edit game artwork. And then from edit game artwork, you can go through all settings and you can essentially just change each thing.

So, you can click to change the logo, the hero, or the icon. For me, I want to change the hero. So, I will see if I can source a better icon or artwork. You can go through all the sources here. I think the first one had the best, so I'm going to go through one and see how it looks. Yeah, let's just stick with this one. Cool. So, now I've changed the artwork, so we just hit Y and Y again to confirm. And that is it. That's the new artwork.

So, that's just a little tip that you can do with Citra on your phone. Right, we have Shovel Knight, which I've heard is really fun. We have Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. We have Animal Crossing New Leaf, which I've never actually played the Animal Crossing games, guys, even when it came out um on the Switch New Horizons during COVID times. I never got into the hype, so I can't wait to play it. We have Ocarina of Time 3D, we have Majora's Mask, and we have A Link Between Worlds.

Can you tell I'm getting ready to play all the Zelda games in order? We have LEGO Marvel Avengers, we have Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon. We have Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey, which was another recommendation, guys, so thanks so much. We have Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Metroid: Samus Returns, We have Mario and Luigi Dream Team which this artwork got scraped and it's absolutely beautiful like it's just such a nice artwork style.

Just for that alone I can't wait to play this and I believe this was another comment so again thank you. We have Pokémon Alpha Sapphire Omega Ruby as well, Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon Pokémon X Pokémon Ultra Sun Pokémon Ultra Moon, we have Pokémon Y. Again for the 3DS catalog of Pokémon games I absolutely cannot wait to play because I never had them growing up. Again we have Starfox 64 3D. We have Super Mario 3D Land, WarioWare Gold and Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS.

Now guys can you believe I also haven't played any Super Smash Bros. games which again is crazy sounding I know but that's just more content I guess for the channel. If you've made it this far leave a comment down below for how much you love your AYN Thor. Let's get into the Switch game library which is absolutely huge. It's only when I saw that the AYN Thor could actually run Switch titles. That's the whole reason I bought or I really wanted the AYN Thor in the first place.

We start off with Pokémon Shield, Pokémon Luminescent Platinum which has its own video coming up cuz this is such an amazing mod if you haven't played [music] Luminescent Platinum. Essentially a ROM hack that's all it is. We have Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening which is a remake on the Switch which looks amazing like I can't wait to play this one. We have Mario Kart 8 Deluxe another classic. We have Super Mario Bros.

Wonder which is like I saw the game I remember the release and I was like I'm having so much fun playing this game guys. It's honestly so good like I can't recommend Wonder enough. We have Tetris 99, classic Breath of the Wild of course. I have not played it. You can see there's 4 minutes but that doesn't count. We have Pokémon Shining Pearl which essentially is what Luminescent Platinum is it's just the modded version has a lot of quality of life hacks.

We have Balatro, we have Super Mario Maker 2, which is so much fun in itself. We have Stray. We have Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. We have Pokémon Fire Red Omega, which I probably wouldn't play this version just because it's essentially the same port as the other ones. We have Hollow Knight Silksong. We have New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. We have Cuphead. We got Batman and the Telltale series. We have Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which is the one I cannot wait to play, which everyone was playing through COVID apparently.

We have Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, which I've heard great things about, so I can't wait to play this one as well. Hades and Hades 2, which again I've heard amazing things, so I can't wait to continue playing those. Luigi's Mansion 3, Little Kitty, Big City. >> [music] >> We have Hollow Knight. We have Mario Party Superstars. We have Mario Tennis Aces. Metroid Dread. Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which I've heard so much good stuff about this game, guys.

Given I'm on like a Pokémon run at the moment, I absolutely cannot wait to play this game. This is probably next on my list, I'll be honest. We have Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, which is the Switch remake of the GameCube version. Mortal Kombat 1. Pokémon Violet. Pokémon Legends: Z A. Let's Go, Pikachu!, which I didn't actually know how good this game was cuz I thought it was like just a kids game when it first came out, but then I saw reviews of it recently and I was like, "Oh, it's literally just a full-on Pokémon game." As in like a remake of Yellow.

So, why not get it? Uh I can't wait to play this as well. Stardew Valley, which is a new addition. Splatoon 3, which I've never played any of the Splatoons and I've heard this one's really good. I did want to try Raeders, but you need a Switch 2 for that, which this cannot emulate it right now. We have Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, which I've heard great things about. We have Super Mario 3D All-Stars, which is Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy all in one game.

We have Super Mario Odyssey, one of my favorite games I've ever played on the Switch. I played it ages ago, guys, and it is one of my favorite. It's so good. Like, it's worth getting a Switch just for this game alone, honestly. We have Super Mario Party Jamboree, which I've heard is really fun, so I can't wait to play this one as well. Super Mario RPG, Terraria, and finally, last but not least, Tears of the Kingdom. So, that is my whole updated games collection, guys.
