Chick-fil-A Customers Are Showing Why They’re LOSING PATIENCE transcript

And what Did I get charged for the bag? >> Chick-fil-A sells consistency as much as chicken. But when price, portions, recipes, or service feel different from what customers expect, what is a one-off and what is a repeatable pattern? >> [music] >> Let's see how cheap we can feed our family of five at Chick-fil-A.

Single mom for the night. Do you have a chicken sandwich kids meal? >> Um, we do not. >> Can we add a bun? >> Oh, yes, ma'am. >> Five kids meals with the chicken strips. Ice cream instead of the toy. >> 3780. >> Buns are only 25 cents at Chick-fil-A, so you can just get a bun, add it to your kids meal, and then you can have a chicken sandwich. Kids meals. Kids meals. So, we're going to put our chicken strips, chicken sandwich now, use the sauce, get the sauce all on there, and you got yourself a kids meal chicken sandwich. >> Your Brooklyn's needs a sandwich. >> Smashers. >> But I got fries. >> Fries. >> Brooklyn's already eaten his, so he's >> Good.

Brooklyn Brooklyn got the >> phone. >> Definitely taste the pickle brine on the tenders more than the nuggets. >> Is that better or bad? >> At least I'll get to >> I like it. >> We got the ice cream cups. >> Taste way better than a normal chicken sandwich, I'm not going to lie. >> First of all, why nobody told me about this kids meal from Chick-fil-A? They get more than us in a whole meal. And then on top of that, look how much ice cream that they get.

Like, that's mad ice cream. What the Nah, they really love these kids, man. >> Like, I had chicken tendies, fries, juice, and ice cream. >> I'm never buying a full meal again. We're two. >> I have been getting free Chick-fil-A breakfast for well over a month now, and I don't know if this is some glitch in the matrix, but I have to put you guys on. Every time I go to the Chick-fil-A by me, I order in their app and then pick it up in the drive-thru.

And one day after I did this, I got an email telling me I had a free breakfast reward. If you redeem the reward, you got another one the next week. And I've been doing it every week, and then every week now I've gotten a free Chick-fil-A breakfast item. It honestly is really smart on their end because every time I've gone, I've always gotten something else as well. >> Today, my free item is the Chick-fil-A biscuit. I've also gotten the spicy biscuit, I've gotten the hash browns, I've gotten the chicken minis, and I've gotten the iced coffee for free. >> The guy working the window was low-key hot, and that was not on my bingo card for this morning.

Here is my purchased iced coffee. I actually really like their iced coffee. And then my free chicken biscuit with two sauces. This is not an ad, I just like free food. >> For the Chick-fil-A lovers, I have a question. This is my first time coming to Chick-fil-A, right? Shout out to the dude in the drive-thru for it because he really helped me out. But then again, I have a question for y'all. My total is 3130. And I'm here getting food for just me. >> Who is Ashy as >> Does that sound right?

Like, do you guys pay $30 when y'all come to Chick-fil-A? Or like, did he just get me? Like, did I get got? Did I get got? Because I I did give them people $30, and I just got like a spicy deluxe combo with a milkshake. That's $30. >> Okay, we're not going to spend too much time on it, but honestly we probably should. I pulled up to Chick-fil-A to get me a little breakfast, [music] okay? Chicken mini meal, hash browns, vanilla iced coffee.

They went up on the sizes of the coffee. I'm not mad anymore. Okay, let's move on. This is where my concern comes in. The man looks at me and he tells me that my total was $10 and some change. For a four count nugget chicken mini meal with maybe eight hash [music] browns and a vanilla iced coffee was $10. I've never known a chicken mini meal to be >> [music] >> $10 and some change. What is really going on? And I knew inflation was real and everything, but when that man told me $10 and some change, I just about lost it.

[music] My heart probably stopped a second cuz I was like, wait, what? Like, did I order something else? No. I ordered a four count nugget chicken mini meal. I'm going to have a word with Chick-fil-A because what's this? This isn't even an average size peep. This is all bread. These used to be long. I paid $15. WHY? WHY? WHY? I'M PROBABLY late to the party, but what is a public improvement fee from Chick-fil-A? What is that, Chick-fil-A?

What is a public improvement fee? For $2. >> No, that's good. >> Now, I place a mobile order, right? Just french fries. Just french fries and a drink. Why the did I get charged for the bag? What's next? And don't think I forgot. Don't think I forgot. A few years ago, ooh, few years ago, you guys changed Oh, this filter's creepy. You guys changed your reward program on the app. I am a freaking loyal Chick-fil-A eater.

I'm in the top tier. Why the did you guys change it? The amounts they The amounts of you need to be able to earn rewards. Because I remember when I first became obsessed with Chick-fil-A years ago, it didn't take as many points. But now, it's taking me a hundred years just to earn a free drink. Just to earn a small fry, where you give me three waffle fries and all the random scraps you can have. >> The same brand produces opposite value stories.

Kids meals and rewards feel like bargains, while others question $31.30 for one order, a roughly $10 breakfast, smaller portions, and extra fees. That gap shows surprise, not proof every charge was wrong. >> Chick-fil-A cancelled days. I ordered the new jalapeno ranch sandwich. First of all, the sauce ain't on the sandwich. It come in the pack. [music] You didn't give me the pack. And who going to eat these three raggedy jalapenos?

Disappointed. >> I stopped eating my Chick-fil-A because why is the chicken pulling like cheese? Did you see it? I don't See if I can You see how it's like It's like pulls really far. See look at this. >> [music] >> You see how it's pulling like that? I don't know if you can see it. But that made me feel gross. I ain't eating it. >> Chick-fil-A My baby, y'all this what I got to do y'all. I got to come home. Mind you.

I had to do this. After a long day of work. This is all y'all need to do. Strain it. Strain it. See? >> I can't even get it in my mouth. Oh my god. Babe. Holy crap. So, I just got a salad from Chick-fil-A and there's huge bug. I looked and I saw this like hairy thing, hairy in my salad. Is that it Is not April Fools, it's April 2nd, you guys. >> There is a bug in the Chick-fil-A dressing packet. And when I press on it, it's not in the packet, it's in the packaging.

You can see how it's kind of raised. >> I want y'all to see cuz I thought I was tripping, but this ain't chicken no more. Chick-fil-A, I need answers cuz um >> Here the complaints become more visible. Missing components, unusual texture, and alleged insects can be shown on camera. But a clip can document what one customer received. It cannot by itself establish how common the problem is across the chain. >> Have y'all tried the new Chick-fil-A fries?

They're awful. What did you do to my fries? >> I know this is controversial because everybody seemed to love the old fries. Not me. I hated them. They were soggy, they were not salty, they were not good. The new ones? Y'all, they have crunch. They're good. They're salty. Chick-fil-A got this right. I don't agree with y'all that say they don't. But you know, that's why they make chocolate and vanilla ice cream cuz we all like different things, but Chick-fil-A, you got this one right in my opinion.

I like them. >> So, if you're a normal person, congratulations. Oh my god, stop. No, I didn't get a spicy sandwich. I'm so mad. Anyway, >> [laughter] >> if you're a normal person, you probably didn't notice, but Chick-fil-A changed their fries. I'm so upset. I don't like the regular sandwich. I wanted it back. But anyways, um God, Chick-fil-A changed their fries and other Chick-fil-A stans that also noticed I noticed like a week ago that something was different about them, but I didn't know what it was cuz I didn't hate them.

But, I follow another Chick-fil-A stan on Instagram and she was talking about how they changed some ingredients so that the fries don't get soggy. And look, I love them. Chick-fil-A, if you're watching this, do not change them. Uh, controversial to everyone else's opinion, I love them, so please don't change them. >> I just found out that Chick-fil-A changed its french fry recipe recently, and this could have significant health effects for many people in the United States because they added pea starch to their french fries in an effort to try to make the fries crispier for longer, and you can tell me what you think about the taste of the fries.

That's not the important issue. The reality is though is that for some people who have a food allergy, this could cause significant issues. If you have a peanut allergy, typically it is safe to eat at Chick-fil-A because they fry their food in peanut oil that does not actually have an appreciable amount of peanut protein, but by adding pea starch to the french fries, if you have a legume allergy, like to peas and lentils, which are similar to peanuts because it's also a legume, then this could potentially be problematic.

This is a phenomenon known as cross-reactivity, where the protein structures on one particular food, like pea protein, has similar features to that seen on peanuts. So, while not everybody with a peanut allergy develops a pea protein allergy, there is a small percentage that could end up having allergic reactions if they eat the french fries at Chick-fil-A, so please share this post widely so we can help raise awareness towards this issue. >> Current Chick-fil-A pages are inconsistent.

Its support FAQ says the waffle fry recipe does not contain pea starch, while some location ingredient pages listed. That makes the date and restaurant essential before treating the allergy concern as universal. >> Hey man, so I'm walking into this Chick-fil-A. By law, they have to now tell you exactly what's in their food if it's um hazardous. So, I'm walking in Chick-fil-A. I'm going to ask them for their ingredients in their chicken sandwich.

This should go over like a fart in church. So, here's the list of everything, all the ingredients that's in a chicken sandwich, okay? I just looked up half of this and half of this is linked to cancer. So, here's a question. So, when you eat here um and now that we just looked up all those ingredients and we know that most of them cause cancer, shouldn't there be a sign right here, like on the on a pack of cigarettes that says danger this causes cancer?

I'm just saying, bro. I mean, I fed my kids this >> Del Taco has beaten Chick-fil-A as America's favorite fast food restaurant in an annual USA Today survey. This is the first time that Chick-fil-A has lost a spot in over 10 years. >> This change feels as monumental as when Dr. Pepper passed Pepsi for the number two most popular soft drink in the United States. It really is a watershed moment when people are saying that not just Del Taco, but even KFC is ahead of Chick-fil-A.

It's looking like antibiotic chicken doesn't pay. If you need further proof that antibiotic chicken doesn't pay, the USA Today also did a survey of the best fast food restaurant chicken. Chick-fil-A came in at a measly number seven. It was behind Jollibee, which took the number one spot, and even Popeyes. This goes to show that people really did notice the change in quality once Chick-fil-A degraded its standards and started to use antibiotic chicken.

If antibiotic chicken is affecting Chick-fil-A's favorability ratings, no doubt it's affecting their sales as well. So, let's see if they'll start to take notice and reverse this decision. Chick-fil-A, I think it's time to panic. But, it was still on the phone, so I'm like, "I don't know, whatever." And I'm like, "Hello? Hello?" Nothing. Finally, I'm walking back to my car and I'm like, "Hello?" And she goes, "Yes?" So, you were hearing me THE WHOLE TIME?

THIS IS TAMARIA. LIKE, WHY ARE YOU NOT answering me? Like, I don't understand. I told her everything that's going on. She's unfazed. She's like, "Okay, I'll go ahead and submit this and your ticket, blah blah." You didn't ask me for my name. You didn't ask me for my order number. You didn't ask me for what I ordered. Like, whenever I have called in the past for like things like stupid things like this, not stupid things, like stupid things that should not have happened by these franchises, they're like, "So sorry about that.

I apologize. Can I please get your order number, receipt number, store number, whatever. Plus, here's your free whatever." >> Let's make a copycat Chick-fil-A sandwich. These turned out so juicy and so flavorful. You're going to love them. Start by adding your chicken breast to a bag of pickle juice and let it marinate for at least an hour in the fridge. Add a cup of flour to a bowl and I will list these seasonings in the comments.

Next, add a good amount of peanut oil to a hot skillet. We're going to make our egg wash, just three eggs and a good splash of milk. First, dip your chicken in the egg mixture. Make sure and get any of the loose liquid off of it and dip it into your flour mixture. Coat them thoroughly. You're going to fry these on medium-high heat. I buttered some brioche buns and stuck them in a 400° oven to get them a little bit toasty.

Top >> Well, with that being said, like I said earlier, I will no longer be doing Chick-fil-A videos. Right after my last video, the cherry berry video, um hit 2 million views, I was reached out to by Chick-fil-A upper management and PR to let me know that my videos actually break a rule in our employee handbook. I do want to make clear that this rule was in place before I ever started making Chick-fil-A videos, and unfortunately, Chick-fil-A is not willing to make an exception for me or collab with me in this case.

I know a lot of you are wondering, "Myriam, how do you feel?" And honestly, I feel at peace because I know this isn't the end of my story, and I know that I didn't want to be the Chick-fil-A girl forever. Um I'm not angry with Chick-fil-A. You know, I do understand that it's the day that it's a business. And honestly, I still love the company. I'm still there for them. If you see me at my local Chick-fil-A, I'll still be there serving up waffle fries, um sandwiches, and smiles.

So, um yeah, I mean, it's sad. I I'm sad. I feel really sad. I really was hoping that we could collab or that we could I don't know if >> Across these clips, the pattern is inconsistency.
