we're going to say it again like we did in the first example of the spacing it doesn't mean you have to go it just means you have the option to go a fake challenge it's going to be more effective okay because we give that Gap um The Gap has increased between ourselves and the opponent compared to

hello guys and welcome back to another replay analysis guys I have had some issues in the last two weeks with recording this video the first time we recorded it I was going to post it about a week and a half ago and realized that the the pen the this wasn't picking up on screen so I spent the whole video not realizing that talking showing illustrations and it just didn't pick up so had to scrap that the second time I I was recording it about you know six seven days ago ready to post and there was no uh audio basically it or it was the wrong file we couldn't transfer it over to the correct file format it was a mess that's that's the uh the the main thing now we're back here we're recording it finally and hopefully please tell me that there's nothing going to be wrong with this recording I I beg I've tested everything but we we'll see now this is a diamond 3 replay um this player called jodo he says I first downloaded this game in 2017 and rarely played until 2020 um I've been hard stuck in Diamond for well over a year and can't seem to figure out how to get into champ my strengths as a player are being able to make saves conserve my Boost and control the ball my weaknesses are overcommitted and failing to be back I'm far more mechanical in free play than I usually am in games and in this game I feel like I overall displayed a good level of defense and rotations as well as a few good shots however there are some obvious moments where I overcommit get punish because of it this game was in a diamond 3 division one lobby my random teammate and I lost and over time so a little bit of a spoiler with the the last message but who cares we're not here to we're not here to you know watch these games and and figure out who's going to win we're here to we're here to learn we're here to analyze let's get straight into it now I'm very sad the last time I recorded this video it was it was really good information I was extremely happy with it um and and we hit all the points there's going to be a few common themes that this player needs to work on um that we're going to really dive into today and and I'm I'm going to save them for later one will pop up very very soon um the first mistake in this replay is this clear where we're clearing it down the center the pitch I'm not concerned whether you scuff this hit or not because you obviously you obviously flip slightly too late which means you don't get the power on the ball that you would if you flipped a little bit earlier however I'm focused on where you're touching this ball and you do look like you're trying to hit this down the center of the pitch now I don't recommend this because for some reason at lower rank and at this and at these intermediate ranks you know it it seems that whenever we clear down the center of the pitch it usually will just lead to a giveaway of possession um if you clear down the sides of the pitch it allows you and your teammates to follow up the ball usually a little bit better um that's just something you guys can keep in mind if you want to that's something I've noticed when I've watched a ton of these you know these ranked replays from you guys and um it's it always leads into a giveway of possession try and clear down the sides of the pitch and of course you guys are skilled players use your intuition if there is an opponent on the wall or an opponent on the side of the pitch where you would normally clear it don't just pass the ball to them because I told you to clear down the sides of the pitch more um you would obviously then try and go through the center or take time or go to the other side Etc now this one in particular should be going to the back corner we should be flipping this ball to the left uh balls like this where our opponents are in the corner um like one opponent's in the corner and one opponent is hitting the ball if that opponent turns in the corner you can wrong foot them basically by putting it behind them okay that means it's very awkward for them to turn around and get it um it's it's pretty pretty difficult for them to to get a challenge or or apply pressure so put the ball behind them once they rotate back in and you'll be able to follow up that uh that ball a lot cleaner however we did a really really good bump through that challenge notice how uh this player sorry let me get the the time and the Boost um up notice how this player once he realizes that he cannot get a contact on the ball anymore he kind of just focuses on the car um at least that's what it looks like you di down last second to at least hit him that's what I see and that's really really good stuff nice we get back for the save and we're going to come up to the first uh General mistake of the replay that is going to appear a lot of the time I'll let you guys watch this um in full and then we'll speak about it we dive in as last man and by RT teammate sorry can't get back and we concede a Counterattack off of us overcommitted now you did mention you have a a problem with overc committing however you actually have a problem and this is going to appear a turn in this replay and we'll keep pointing out every single time you guys are going to get tired of me by the end of this video putting out this every single time I promise you um but as long as it gets in your head you actually have a problem with not um being close enough to your teammate which then leads to you overc committing because you're not close enough especially when in times where they have possession and then you go oh I'm so far away I need to get that you quick quick quick I'm just going to go I'm just going to go right and then we overcommit and that's when we concede okay or that's when we uh concede possession into Counterattack opportunities um so I'm going to introduce a thing to you guys that I recommend most of you apologies let me get rid of the controller overlay um there we go I I recommend most of you follow this this Rule now it is a general rule okay I again like with you know clearing down the size of the pitch I'm not going to say you have to follow this every single time of course if you see something else that is happening in your own games use your own intuition um I don't to get some comments telling me I've I've cost them their rank games by following this rule um you know every single time in in every moment in the game however this is what me and Johnny boy called the quarter pitch spacing um it's it's kind of a quarter to a third of of the pitch and that is where you want to be positioned behind your teammate especially when they have possession or really only when they have possession um when they're attacking down the pitch or when they have possession you want to be around a quarter to a third of the uh the pitch length behind your teammate and usually positioned um directly behind them almost not not completely directly you know in this position um if I play this we we're positioned pretty well in terms of where we are horizontally compared to our teammate you know we're we're a little bit covering the Midfield but we're still on his side of the of the pitch however we're just not in the right uh right place in terms of the length of the pitch okay here you know if we follow this rule we want to be around in this spot okay and that will allow you or at least having momentum being a to push up into this circle very very quickly okay and that will allow you um if your positioned by the the quarter pitch space and Rule around there to there it will allow you to just push up for for these balls um and be you know we would move up with our teammate obviously and we would be on this ball about there in that Circle that first Circle and we would get onto this ball a little bit quicker and it's just that small Gap that you had between yourself and that kind of circle where we were telling you to be that leads to you getting scored on uh or at least getting beat to now guys I'm going to just point out really quickly it doesn't mean that just because you're close to your teammate especially when they have possession that um you have to go okay it's just you have options you can go and it's going to be safe most of the time again use your own intuition um you can you know fake challenge you can drive CH you can do anything right you don't have to full go every single time it just gives you better options now I'm going to speak about this for one more minute and then we'll move on it obviously um depends on a lot on a few different factors okay if we um draw this one more time if if the play if the speed of play is moving very very very quickly okay that means we might need a little bit more distance between um our teammate and ourselves in my opinion because the the players moving quicker all right so we need time to react to get into to push into the space where we would go next if that makes sense because Anything could happen now of course if there is a very volatile 50 that's about to happen that could pinch out in to your you know half that way uh from this position for example if you know this player um is about to sorry if this's play if there's a ball here there's a car you know our teammates going to 50 it there and our teammate on our opponent going to 50 it there that's a very volatile 50 uh let's say they're both coming in at quite you know Fast Pace that's probably going to pinch out to there that might mean that we're not going to be positioned by this you know by this quarter pitch rule um close to our teammate because of course it's a situation we have to prepare for the loss as well um it also depends like I said previously on the spacing or sorry on the speed of play so your spacing the the faster the player moves um of course we need to be slightly positioned behind where we normally probably would uh just in case we need time to pushup into the the position um it gives us more time to react of course if you're just moving quickly and you know your the opponents are moving quickly and something's about to happen you might get too close in those in those moments and you won't have time to react simple as that we'll explain that a little bit more and a little bit better than that that was a very rough explanation but as we go on uh there'll be more times where we where we see it and again of course it's a general rule if you know if the play is moving very very quickly and and we need to move quickly with it um but you don't want to be too close because you're moving fast and you won't have time to react however if the ball is clearly going to come Center uh then of course you just speed up and get close CU we can score off that Center ball for example right we just again use our own intuition game now this is a a good play you know we just noticed that our opponent is going for that back back left Boost from from the defender's angle um but obviously you know not every time they're going to go for that I like that we saw that they would and we would just attack down the center if your opponent is mostly covering the goal in these positions the best play is to actually just secure that corner boost hit the ball to the corner and get the Boost uh but you saw that he was going to overcommit to his corner and we got the goal so that's that's good nice good cheat in in positions like this this is completely fine what you did B away however in positions like this you've already made your opponent feel like they have to cover the ball feel like they have to get a hit you can almost swerve off of it last second and just grab that mid boost and this is a very um what's the word it's a very n situation I guess it's like it will only happen off kickoff where you're racing towards this ball and the mid boost but just keep that in mind CU this does happen a lot in games off kickoffs uh where it's this race just let them hit it cuz they will flip into it or at least get a touch and you can then get that mid boost but your teammate got the mid boost and that's really all that matters at least one of you did and again we're going to come up to our second uh mistake in terms of spacing um and again we have to be cover we have to be closer and applying this kind of new rule um of of this you know this spacing a little bit our team there we probably need to be around here okay uh maybe even around here just to be covering kind of all the options cuz we're not sure which way this ball is going to go out if it's going to go out that way or this way or this way okay so covering being in the middle position or at least pointing your car there uh will help as well but yeah we're just going to be too far away here and you'll see that's what that's what happens or this is what happens is we break rotation and that breaks our offense a lot that's a natural thing that's really the only ways offense breaks in my opinion is usually when there is a kind of a let down in rotation or positioning by the offensive team um and we would have just been simply there for the goal honestly if we just stayed close so anytime your teammate has the ball you need to be supporting them play off these small pads right we would just go um you know up to this small pad and this one and probably this one okay we would go in that line that would give us 36 boost we're currently on 21 we'd be on you 5 57 is Boost um and we would would be there for the goal simple as that okay all right let's go back to your POV now so I know I'm speaking a lot in this F in the first minute but there's a few a couple different things that like I said are going to appear consistently throughout the replay case so we're just going to point them out and then we'll speed up from here on um this is one of the other things we talked about the space and we're going to continue talking about it however the you struggle with defending one-on-one situations and positioning your car uh correctly for them all right that's and and and correcting the spacing for them um that's what you struggle with because you need to match your opponent in One V one situations pretty much every time here you you do well in terms of you're pointing your car in the exact same position as your opponent is pointing their car okay and that's very important uh because you need to cut off your opponent's play basically at one at some point right you need to if I draw you need to kind of pick a line they're going in this direction okay we're going to follow them in that direction but our job when we're defending a 1 V one is to get closer and closer to the opponent without you know overc committing without giving away a a free flick opportunity um and and just conceding we need to get closer and closer until there's a window where we can challenge them again without being flicked on or overcommitted now the advantage that we have when defending one-on ones which sounds stupid but it is a slight Advantage is that they have to come to us okay so you don't necessarily have to close the space down by going like you know this and and and wrapping into uh the opponent because they're going to come to you anyway so you just have to drive in almost a fairly straight line and meet them you know around here uh it's probably going to be actually around here you you'd want to meet them let's let's play it out and oh never mind I can't play out cuz i' I've missed my miss my spot it'll probably be around maybe there where we' we'd meet them yeah so somewhere around this circle or this potato is where we would we would meet our opponent um because we give away space if we go back to your angle you did a really good job pointing your car towards your opponent or the direction they're going but then we boosted okay we don't want to boost back right unless we're unless we know what we're doing fully you just want to kind of boost to the position where they're going to and then you it's again we we're going to say it again like we did in the first example of the spacing it doesn't mean you have to go it just means you have the option to go a fake challenge it's going to be more effective okay because we give that Gap um The Gap has increased between ourselves and the opponent compared to that the start when they first made that that touch on the ball to start the dribble uh the Gap did actually increase and and that's not a good thing I just realized I'm very white so I'm going to close my blind real quick I'm taking two seconds to there we go that has not helped one more you guys can enjoy the back of my head there we go that's a little bit of a nicer a little bit of a nicer uh lighting for me there okay this is fine it's not you know not completely smooth you can honestly just go for this ball you know anytime off kickoff you have to you have to look at multiple things okay so you have to realize and you have to do it quite quickly you have to look at what the other opponent is compared to you okay so in in this position this player right let me move this off off screen I don't know why that's uh still there okay there we go this player for example uh gim gim potent what a name he's going to be looking at the other kickoff taker so you have to match your guy you know you have to be looking at a little bit you know just paying attention slightly to the the cheater because or the person that's not on the kickoff because if they cheat that's going to give you information if they don't cheat and they go back for Boost like you both did that's also going to give you information you should have seen that he went back for Boost and you should see that this ball is bouncing into your half which means that because you're in the same spot as each other you're going to be closer the ball's come to your half and you started in the same position um as the the opponent basically you're going to be closer so you can go right that's the line of thinking you need to take there instead we we get confused if we can go or not we just wait here um which you know we still hold a good defensive position we don't jump for this ball even though many people will think that he should have but there's no angle really to score very little angle I think it's fine uh but it is slightly awkward okay I like that we go for a bump there and yeah we go for a trip up and then we get the 50 that's good if you can and now asking for a lot in this replay so far if you can you always need to be thinking about of course first off when we're thinking about 50s is what is the most dangerous option the most dangerous option is simply the 50 or the shot into our net so we simp we do need to get behind the ball okay in a in you know goal side pointing towards our net um however the second thing you should be thinking about is once you've got that covered where can I place this 50 and you might not understand how to place 50s where you want to yet but you can work on it now and improve on it um as simple as you know you understand how 50s work if you're covering this side of the ball um most of the time the ball will go into that angle okay that's a very basic explanation and if an opponent is coming from this side directly countering your uh your kind of placement here on the ball then it's just going to kill Center uh but most of the time if if your opponent hits it dead on you know through the middle of the ball and you cover the left to you know just before the middle of the ball it'll go in that Direction that's what we want here because um our teammate is going to be first on that side compared to anyone else on the pitch okay so it's going to be a better 50 it's going to have possession for our team right that isn't bad though I'm I'm not saying your 50 was bad just slightly improved on um but I don't want to over complicate things uh that's 50 is still very very solid and and so is that one you know we're getting solid contacts through the ball which I really really like uh and we there's no way we ever concede from those 50s which is the main thing okay another thing or another kind of circumstance where we go back for Boost when our teammate probably is going to have uh some some level of possession it might not be perfect possession because they're they're racing towards this ball however he's still applying a very effective amount of pressure um and it's there's a good chance he's going to get possession or at least have an even 50 okay that means we need to stay in the play all right I'm not going to speak about too long you just need to stay in the play on small pads instead of going back for that that big boost and now we see again because we don't uh again you know we're not we're not thinking about that quarter uh to a third pitch spacing rule um we're just too far and our teammate yes he played it too quickly but he's probably expecting you to be supporting him um and he probably doesn't realize that you're all the way back and that's what makes this challenge so bad um it's a bit of a combination between yourself and the teammate making poor decisions but I would mainly blame you unfortunately uh because you go all the way back and you're not supporting your teammate there uh fully and that makes you quite far away from this ball okay uh which means again we we have to you know catch up and challenge at a moment that's not favorable for us luckily we get bumped that is very fortunate there and we get bumped back almost I love this you jumping up onto the wall we jump a little bit too high just a quick kind of thing for this you've got to think that when you jump onto walls especially in positions like this where balls are going to be going up and then falling quickly um you have to think that the ball is going to be falling pretty much right as at the time that you land on the wall so if you try and land you know perfectly like horizontally kind of even to the ball here you even you're even already underneath it but you still drive upwards slightly the ball's now dropping whilst you're driving upwards and that's going to push the ball too far underneath your car which makes this very awkward to to then get uh so if you want to do this type of play where the the ball is in this position you can just just jump slightly lower or land slightly lower on the wall than you think you need to and that will lead to a bad result there but I like that it's efficient and and it's cool to practice I like it okay not the best touch but we thought our opponent was challenging us we're not going to speak about that too much so that's fine we do give away possession a single jump into a a Dodge hit would have been the best bet there um team has a free one V one and completely just gets full challenge by the prot on 12 boost all good nice we covered pretty much all the shot angles we uh we needed to cover there um that's fine you probably want to jump slightly earlier uh honestly but that's you know that's talking very small things really good touch okay this is going to be a common mistake throughout the rest of this replay is we're not getting enough height on our first touches in the air however you do have really really good play here still this is by you know by in no means bad okay um you know this is still very good you you kill the ball completely if your teammate and he has a wide open net if he just flips into this board he he scores he does Chip it and and misses but you did a fantastic play however again like I said it's going to pop up a couple more times uh throughout the rest of this replay you want to get height on these first touches in the air rather than distance and just that small Focus Shift in in your mindset of when you go for these balls what you're looking to do that I promise you or I hope that it would it helps me and it helps most players um it will just change the result okay if you just focus on getting height on that first touch over anything and really that's the only thing you're thinking about then you will uh get better better chances basically off these types of plays again that all being said you still did a really really good 50 and you got behind the ball super well towards the end uh and that's what matters now you cover the corner for a brief second in this one V one and that's what leads us to unfortunately getting scor on here um and you yeah so this is the main mistake you don't need to cover the corner you see that slight turn with your car that's something you don't need to do or really shouldn't do completely you know to be honest um you're just simply covering nothing that's dangerous if they go into your corner you should be you should be begging them to go into your corner from this position you should be trying to force them to go into your corner blocking all the angles that isn't your corner um because that's the safest option uh for a couple of reasons there's there's minimal angle for them to shoot from the corner um it gives your teammate time to get back uh when the ball goes to the corner because of course they then have to go from the corner to the goal um it gives you know more time uh the only thing you have to be worried about is of course if you're in a 1 V2 situation which we kind of are for a brief second here the the pass from the corner can be quite difficult to defend coming from the backboard around the you know around the wall uh but that's you know you have to pick your poison at the end of the day and and I would much rather give a little bit of time for my teammate to get back and help me uh and cover my net mainly rather than trying to cover the corner okay we just cover the corner and we can't get back um so you need to be positioned more more behind your opponent like in a perfectly straight line between your opponent and the near post so you'd be looking at uh this position here okay face ing in this Direction that's your best bet at at defending this play and if we just play on from here you would of course go from side to side you might change your angle slightly depending on you know the angle they're about to take maybe you see they're cutting Midfield here so you're going to turn a little bit to cover it and again we're going to be trying to inch closer and closer to where we can challenge them and the window to when we could have challenge them um would have been if we go to your PV over here it would would be about when you see something like this happen Okay where the ball is very very low it's really hard for them to get height on the ball and they're still about to make a dribbling touch that's what that's your cue to try and turn into the ball or turn where the ball is going to go to next and and close that gap down uh because they can't do anything that changes the ball's height uh or or Direction really okay so that's those are the main mistakes when defending that 1 V one and it's going to again be a a slight common theme um again for the rest of this replay so we'll point it out when it comes that was a really solid kickoff from us a nice challenge by our teammate okay we get a little bit too close here but I think you're probably compensating a little bit because you were too far away for the most of the replay so that's probably fine uh that we tried to do this you know could have been bad but um it's it's not the I'm I'm not going to be honest I'm going to be honest with you it's not the end of the world cuz your teammate is behind you you just have to be careful the long shot here you probably want to be starting to face backwards already uh like half a second ago basically you just turn a little bit too late that's fine though okay ball isn't on target we take our time we realize that there's real no real angle for the opponents to score so that's good so again focusing on getting height on your basically any touch that you get from now on uh in the air especially you know control touches from the ground into the air or hits like these when you on low boost you just need to buy time you don't really care about scoring you're probably not going to score with 20 Boost from this angle just try and get a lot of height make them awkward and and then that gives you time to get back because we just pass it down to them it's cutting our time loose uh cutting our time uh off basically you can get a control touch here rather than flipping into the wall your teammate would have messed you up regardless I'm not sure why he's touching that anyway uh you can just simply touch that with the the nose of your car or the H of your car at the front and and and then go up the wall with it it's hard to do but we can definitely work on that for sure okay that's fine teammate is he's been a nightmare this game I'll be completely honest with you I'm sorry if that gu maybe watching the video for it would be a coincidence but if he is I I do apologize okay this is very awkward and you said you had you said you feel like you have you know good General control you actually look like you have very good control in the air on the ground especially in this moment you know we're just not completely controlled we don't we don't ever want the ball to be bobbling in a position like this it's bobbling along the ground it's like a very very low bounce dribble without the intention of it being a bounce dribble and it's not good because we need to drive through that boost and have the ball roll up the wall um nicely and fairly quickly before the opponents can close the space down if it's bobbling like this and you just Bobble you like tapped it up slightly and bobbled it again it kind of comes off the wall it doesn't hug the wall and that's that's not good for setups and it makes it very awkward and turning around again you did a good job of covering your neet going goal side on that 50 and that's why it forced it to the corner so that's really good you're very good at 50s it seems um but yeah I would I would play a bit of One V one that's that's kind of what I want to say from that uh that play your 50s are fantastic by the way I would make sure you're playing a little bit of one one if you're not already cuz it's going to help you with a lot of the things that you're struggling with in this replay so far um you know challenging in 1 V ons uh just helps in general with challenging um and especially in One V one situations lovely shot by the way uh everyone take notes around this rank just no Arrow you don't need to Arrow you don't need to be fancy on shots like this very quickly get into the ball and just slamming it with the nose of the kai it's really not over complicated we don't turn upside down for no reason at any point in that aial we just hit the ball with some power that's what I like uh but yeah Play One V one uh you're going to massively um see the benefit if and if you're playing it play it more because you're going to see the benefit uh from One V one situations in terms of of Defense now again just another mistake and just a small error but it leads to a turnover of possession from us a small error in the spacing uh from us here the positioning okay going to draw my wonky lines again oh my God that one was wonky uh but it's okay so again we need to be following you know he's in the middle of that kind of first sector on our screen um or that you know between those first two lines on our screen we need to be in the middle of the the next two okay um we're just a little bit too far away from our teammate and and that makes us just slightly slow to this ball you know we we want to be almost here ready okay want to be in this position already pushing up into this spot okay and if we play on if we're here and you know we're going to get closer and closer like this we would be you know around here and let's say I'm being too kind of generous with our our speed let's say we're here we're still first to this ball okay you're going to be closer than that by the way but you'd still be first to the ball and then you can of course decide you know am I first this ball you know you might not know am I first to it is it safe for me to go um you know do I need to fake challenge do I want to fake my opponent want to take the you have so many more options now okay instead because we're not close enough we're now not going to be a to G this ball um and that leads to our teammate looking like he's overcommitted for a brief second there you know if if if this if this orange player just be was able to play this situation a little bit better because if we go to the Boost you know this this teammate here our our teammate he's on zero okay if this orange teammate oh sorry orange opponent um has a bit more control and plays this quickly especially if he plays it very quickly over to this side of the pitch where his teammate's waiting it looks like our teammates overc committed but our teammate hasn't overcommitted it's it's that we have underc committed and that makes it look like he's overcommitted and that's where we're really making errors here good fake challenge though you drive up you you just show your presence here which I like um this is important you know guys just getting close even if you have no intention of going just just saying like look I'm I'm here like do something and they have to hit the ball that's good teammate is wacky by the way I don't know what what he's what he's doing um just cut him randomly in corners for balls like this makes it very awkward for us this hit this hit is awkward I understand and you're not sure probably what to do with this ball but if you see a position like this you just want to take time okay um if you can get a touch that rolls up the wall and go for you know some sort of play off the wall hard to do but possible especially with your me that we've seen in the air they're pretty good in my opinion um you can just take time on the ground uh but yeah in a position like this just look the teammate the opponent's in the corner the ball's going to it's going to roll down the wall nicely if you just let it uh so just give it a bit of time okay go behind teammate that's fine teammate should push grab the Boost he does nice yep nice okay love this look how composed he is on the 50 here like he knows his opponent is going but he's got all the angles he needs to cover covered okay he's got them he's got all them covered right he knows that you know if he if his opponent hits this ball he's still got a block he takes his time with the flip the only mistake is actually flip him because once you see your opponent pass the ball which you you do have the reaction time to react to this here you've seen them go past you don't need to flip in fact you don't want to flip just single jump carry on letting your car go forward and that will keep this ball nice and close close I really like um that we we single jump into this 50 rather than just going quickly into it with a flip single jumps in in 50s in defense especially in our defensive Corners are really really good guys because it makes us recover faster than our opponent even if they 50 us we're just going to react we're going to get the recoil from the ball and we're going to our car's just going to almost go to the ground instantly from a single jump 50 compared to a flip where we have to complete our flip and it takes a lot lot longer um so make sure we're going for single jump defense 50s especially in defensive Corners um it's very very good okay all right we take a long shot cuz we think it's open I don't mind it and we score for it I like it now I'm you know I know that it might seem like I'm overanalyzing I might be slightly okay in most positions you want to take time here because the opponent made a mistake in their position that they really shouldn't have made and I I understand that mistakes do happen in this rank but they should never be driving forward like this I would if I would just quickly flick your left stick um or your right stick sorry over to see where the opponent is um and and take time on this ball however we see that or we think that the open that is is there and we almost snipe it and we get a goal of it so I'm not saying it's a bad play I'm just saying in general you will want to take your time on the counter attack there um to lead to more consistent goals in the future okay teammate has got an open net he's done his best impression on me he's he's scuffed It Wide unfortunate we should be never be going for this ball of course our teammate should have scored and this is completely his fault that we haven't scored here but just don't don't try and go like oh we should have scored you know our team should have scored let's just try and force this ball in you know we need to get the goal we should have had one don't do that especially don't do it with a double jump because that's going to push us out the play for so long we're now facing backwards there's just no chance we get back okay we've conceded a Counterattack at 20 seconds left in the game with a one goal lead uh just by time for your teammate in this position okay you have to play the clock better you have to change your play style depending on the time of the game that's left right 20 seconds left we need to take time we need to just stay behind the ball bait the opponents in go for low 50s on them cuz they're going to be panicky they're going to be going quick let them come to you 50 them 50 them low back into the corners keep the ball low and you'll kill the rest of the time uh because we go for the ball there we've uh you know we've we've kind of given them a goal that's fine that's fine oh my God I thought our teammate slammed that into the open into the into our own goal there top corner all right overtime and this goal is going to come fairly quickly there's not too much to uh be speaking about in this over time to be honest with you in fact you start playing a little bit better you start positioning fairly you know close to your your teammate in positions like this we're not going for Big Boost pads when we don't need to we're pushing up with our teammate you know we're following kind of this quarter pitch spacing pretty well in this overtime uh we just don't do it for the rest of the game which I like you know we're playing well in these high pressure situations this is another time where we're covering the corner instead of covering the net you need to be covering the net especially because our opponent has a teammate that's Midfield okay so we need to be closer to the threats the threat is our Nets and the opponent right the the opponent's teammate that's supporting them okay so we need to be positioned uh some somewhere in between them are at least being able to cover both of them uh we want to be here okay that's where we want to be pointing like you know like there like sorry backwards like that pointing towards our net however if we're to the side more like this we that's a car by the way we can be pointed like that so just uh you know in in that direction terrible drawings but you get the picture okay you need to be positioned in between that covering the net and the Midfield slightly uh to be covering balls like this a little bit more effectively our opponent misses so we first the ball and that's fine um however we we covered the corner there and that's again a mistake we saw earlier that we don't want to do okay in positions like this when our opponent is dribbling laterally across the pitch there is no threat basically because they're not dribbling towards the net okay they're just going to be dribbling towards the sides of the pitch or the corners which is fairly safe we don't need to jump at them in fact we're going to be doing them a favor every time we jump at them use a drive challenge okay so you're just going to drive at your opponent okay aiming for their car underneath the ball and aiming for a piece of the ball if you don't hit the ball you're going to hit the car you're probably going to get a bump or or a demo if you if you hit the ball you've got the ball off of them all right it's not going to be um their intended play and you're probably going to hit the car still there's only benefits that can come out of Drive challenging in positions like this where our opponent is dribbling with no real threat uh because the angle is not towards our net basically Drive challenge okay we would then probably get a demo uh and there would be no one onto this ball which our teammate can then come and take free ball we did a really good job recovering and we get the demo uh however higher level players will realize in this position they have taken you out the play they would speed this ball up now they would get underneath this ball already and try and catch it they wouldn't be taking their time there cuz any any any extra half second you know millisecond they take there is only benefiting you because you've overcommitted okay we have to be aware of the bump here uh but I'm I'm going to I'm not going to cover this too much we just have to be aware of it if if if the opponent's potentially Landing behind us or to the side of us we just got to be careful especially as last man there and that makes it very awkward our teammate Dives him for a 50 and there's no chance we're going to save this and that's the game the key things from this game that you need to work on is that mainly that positioning and spacing especially when your teammate has possession counterattacking down the other side of the pitch you need to be close to them okay uh particularly that quarter to a third of the pitch in terms of length you've got the you know you've got the kind of horizontal where you need to position down uh it's just slightly behind your teammate uh to the side covering mainly the Midfield uh but also on their side of the pitch you've got you got that completely fine um the other thing you need to work on in particular is One V one defense sure we're not covering our Corners cuz that's not the dangerous area uh making sure we're actually put sorry cutting the space down instead giving them space because that's only helping our opponent um and yeah in particular one V one will help both of those things honestly even this even the spacing thing it will help uh because you're naturally going to understand how to play uh low boost positions in One V one close to the play which is you know the ball and the opponent that's going to happen a lot in One V one and you can kind of use that to your advantage to understanding how to do it in2 just with a teammate involved now um the other thing that you need to work on in terms of mechanics is uh higher first touches in the air um and that is really it you know just those three points we covered a lot in this video but those three points I think are going to be able to carry you um in terms of improvement for the next maybe one to two months probably um and you'll always be working on this you'll probably forget at certain points have to to go back and work on it again and that's just the the name of the game unfortunately but try and work on those things uh please do reach out to me if you have any questions guys anyone who's still at this video now I appreciate you watching all this time it's been a long video uh but yeah do let me know in the comments if if you have any questions about this player in particular uh this game in particular or your own game and other than that I appreciate you watching take care
