Opening (first 30 seconds)
OpenAI released chatb dots and I believe if used correctly, these can be literally life-changing to so many people that have not bought Mac minis and went down the whole AI rabbit hole of setting things up in a custom way. This is a very userfriendly product that basically allows you to not pay much attention to anything else in your chatb account except the conversation with your dot. And that's why today I want to show you a use case which you could never do by yourself. you would need to hire a person for this. And I believe that in just a few seconds I can show you exactly

What this transcript is
Every word below is the caption track YouTube publishes for this video, pulled from the video itself and reproduced unchanged. It is not Prepublish's writing, not a summary, and not a re-transcription: it is the video's own published captions. English captions, published by the channel, in the video’s original language. Source: the video on YouTube. A channel that would rather this page did not exist can ask for its removal through the contact page, and it is removed.
No Script X-ray for this video: YouTube shows a Most replayed graph only once a video has enough views.
And I believe that in just a few seconds I can show you exactly what this product does because many people seem to be confused. So what is a do? It's a new feature inside of your chat GBT account that lives here next to your chat. Now they just released this. So it's only available on the most expensive plans, but over time this will come down. Every paid plan will have these. And the way it works is that usually you have chats in your account.
Let's say this is a chat. This is another chat. This is another chat. And as you do tasks, these get scattered. And also your work from one doesn't carry over into the next. Now what many people who get a bit more fluent with AI start doing is creating these so-called projects. And a project allows you to group multiple chats together so they can share the same context. So if you have details on your business or your customers, you can put that in the project and then all chats share it.
Now this still gets messy as you do more and more with AI. What a dot does is it sits above all the chats and all the projects in your account. So basically, you're dealing with one thing, one conversation, and you can command all the other things in your account. This is what it looks like. If I'm in my chat GPT account, I can interact with my dot right here through typing or even start a call. Hey, uh, name two things we've been working on this week.
The my CFO workshop sandbox and your Alfredo task board with the new look and the asana tracking. So, new recording requests flow into secondary. Those two have been the main threads this week. As you can see, this keeps it really simple as opposed to using the entire account. And hey, if you wonder what other things you could do with this and which use cases become super convenient with this new interface that exists now, I created a PDF with some of my favorites.
You can get it for free in the description below. There's a link at the top. Now, let's get back to this tutorial. So, let me show you how to get things done in here so that you don't have to deal with all of these separate items. And we're going to take this example that I think you can use for so many things of setting up a scanner because this dot and that's a thing I haven't told you yet also has a computer and it's on 24/7.
So if I tell it something like all right I want you to scan the housing market in Phoenix concretely Scottsdale. Look through various websites and find something to rent between three and $6,000 a month. Minimum free bedrooms and two parking spots. I want you to scan now, but then also go in every 30 minutes and look for brand new listings and notify me if something new pops up on the market that fits my criteria. This pattern of giving it a task to execute over and over again is literally like having an employee with a computer that does this.
And as you can see, it starts using its computer, which is available here on the right, to research exactly what I need. And by the way, OpenAI computer use models are bestin-class. So, it's really good at browsing. So, if you ever had experience with this before, forget about that. It's a whole new world. Okay, here's the results. And you might know this, but when you work with AI, it's all about keeping the conversation going and giving feedback.
Okay, so after a quick review, I would conclude. Hey, I definitely want there to be a pool in the backyard. Update the scanner. And now I want you to see this. If you go to the schedule tasks here on the site, see it added the Scottsdale rental alerts. And you could have this yourself. It wrote the entire prompt here. And it runs every 30 minutes. If I click that task here in there, I could change the interval to be shorter.
But the point is I can access all of CHP's functionalities for one interface, which is this dot up here. It's not just limited to schedule tasks. You can even give it tasks in codecs if that's what you use. And you don't have to worry about context or what tool or what project, whatever. It just figures it out. If you haven't tried it, I would highly recommend it. Go ahead and set up a task to scan something like either flights or accommodation for an upcoming trip.
That's a classic one. Or you could go on any marketplace ever. And if you're looking for a product, you could set up a scanner to go ahead and look regularly. Or if you're looking for a job, there's a LinkedIn connector that you could set up and it would just scan for new job listings and then let you know and you could immediately say, "Okay, let's proceed. Let's book, send an email, follow up with the email." It reduce the friction with AI.
And that's a big deal for a very, very large group of people. And this makes it accessible cuz honestly, I wake up, press this little call button, and I just talk to it. It's all in one place now. And that's what dots and this entire category of always on assistants like Muse or Grockbot is all about. All right, I hope this was helpful and have a wonderful day.
