hey guys uh I'm back back today to make some more tutorials and with that uh we're going to be making a stylized environment tutorial uh I'm not going to be teaching anything specific to fundamentals in art or anything with like 3D design uh we're mainly just going to be discussing my workflow and how I like go about things teaching like some plugins this and that nothing too strict or over the top more back and everything uh and I want to get this cleared up right off the bat I will be using assets from Dallas's patreon store this video is sponsored by delis I am being paid for this video um so if you want some of the assets that I will be using in this video such as these ones right here except for the Rocks uh you could find that on his store I'll have that link below in the video description uh with all that being said let's go ahead and get into the environment sculp thing um I have made some modifications some of these assets to fit the theme that I have going on which is really just changing like the colors of the base textures uh such as this tree right here making it a darker uh alternative of this one okay so I think for this we're just going to uh just basically free ball uh what I'm wanting to do here and I think we're going to go with a forest so so I'm going to start with the pathway design that I'm going to be wanting um so let's see let's let's go with something that's loop hole so let's go with like something that's kind of like a figure eight but not [Music] exactly go something like this kind of like this and then maybe fill that in as a central area and then maybe we'll have some paths Branch through perhaps off like that and that'll get us a different feel maybe often Corners they're not as rough sharp I should say um yeah something about like this I kind of like the way this looks this looks like butter play wings okay uh now we're going to be using a plugin that is called where is it at it's called Uh build V4 I don't know where it is up at the top there is build V4 floor uh basically the only thing I use in this plugin are their terrain tools uh specifically these two tools um primarily just this one because it has really nice growing tools and sculpting really really really nice um so we going to go ahead and start with some basic and escaping because we don't want our environment to be like flat like a pancake we want there to be some elevation we don't want it to be too much because we also have to take into consideration of how call the player is so with that actually we're going to go ahead and insert a rig that's all those up attachments and stuff um how big does this feel as a player about right here yeah I think that's I think that's good I think that's good feels feels pretty the scale um and we're just going to basically go around and just kind of sculpt this up to give it some Dynamic feeling to it cuz a lot of maps um in Roblox games are just completely flat like this um which is fine of course it's always depending on what the client wants what the game play is going to be like Etc uh but in our case we have all the Crea and freedom we can ever ask for so uh go crazy here and you know what I'm thinking about also adding a a waterfall not a waterfall a lake somewhere or a pond there um we probably would want that around the center I'm thinking maybe like around here we could have it so we'll get the flat out and just kind of flatten this area out oh running into some issues with the fingle that's that is not expected okay there we go and now we'll do we want to paint with the pools or do we want to use part of terrain actually seems to be fine right there okay yeah okay we'll go like wait does that actually change that deepness oh what is oh I have a part right there oh oh that makes sense I forgot I have this out here cuz I use parted plug in okay ifuse it for a second okay um let's go ahead and actually do a little bit more uh here with how this will look go ahead and add some this down below try and make sure whenever you are bringing the terrain down you don't hit the edges it'll affect how the water looks how it snaps for the shorelines go ahead and just actually I might use the mes one might be better there we go and bring it down yeah something like that and then we'll grab a part have to Anchor do anything to it and basically just watch how running into an issue here this was all brought up while the rest stay the same so we're going to go ahead and bring this up we'll repaint our paths bring that up maybe a little bit more okay um I a SE through okay so we're going to have to that go ahead and bring this up a little bit more on the sides and ahead and bring everything else up not sure why I did that I think I just didn't catch it okay there we go fixed it okay now we have a little area for our goad and bring our NPC um okay we'll go ahead and convert this to water so we're going to use parts of terrain this plugin just convert water and then there we go and for our water settings let's go ahead and since it is stylized we don't want it to be too realistic looking so it be slightly darken it [Music] and actually based off how the sky looks it might actually be more beneficial to us to have it a darker blue so we might want to turn that transparency down and maybe the reflectance down no the for to stay up yeah I don't want it to be too dark the water underneath as well we'll go ahead and use uh ground uh material that I found online don't remember where though it's been a while since I've downloaded it so we'll see if I can put in the video description if not well dallis may have one on his patreon store there we go something like that um and we might even actually do it around the edges it actually scoping over the water it is interesting okay well we're probably going to want to put this down all bit of one then and do something like that there we go okay look at that cover I'm not sure why it's doing that but I guess it's fine doesn't really change much if anything it gives makes it look a little bit more natural just so symmetrical okay um and we're going to go ahead and use some of our Rock uh materials in here as well so looks a little rocky so then we can place our Rock acids over here later yeah nothing like that um what's the glacier isn't it yeah Glacier put some of that in there BL just give our rock some variance um and usually for an environment I would have a uh have a darker uh grass alternative material around bodies of water to show that it's like damp and wet uh but I don't really have the time to do that right now okay what does this feel looks good looks good let's go ahead and get our Pathways back or around around okay and we'll go up to about like four paint this back and we going make that skinnier with [Music] these there we go I like that go ahead and smooth all this out as well make it smoother one in the world [Music] okay really sure why he's not smothing properly but roox is going to Roblox okay how does this feel I'm not really liking the elevation here I'm not sure why it's being so hard to smooth um and I also think that just like too much round as well there needs to be more grass maybe add a patch right there or [Music] something yeah it looks a little bit [Music] better there we go back to ground [Music] redo this area okay now we're going to go ahead and paint some grass around we don't want to change everything to be uh the grass decoration material as it's not just not very good looking in my opinion just a personal preference and because it doesn't feel as restrictive to the player and speaking of restrictive of the player we're going to go ahead and turn the grass height down all the way like that feeling more it feels like you can actually walk through it doesn't feel like going through a 10 foot tall cornfield okay sporadically do this on edges go okay um let's go ahead and do some more refining around the path we have some pop over into the path a little bit there we go Little Pond okay there we go zigzags up there this is my gosh I can't speak the fulfillment fillment fulfillment fulfillment go ahead and do some spaic zigzags out there to make everything feel a bit more full there we go okay some gapy areas okay um yeah looks good I'm go ahead and add some Cobble St as well through here cuz why not and actually we'll go ahead and use the replace tool so we'll want to replace ground with power set up so now we can click without [Music] worry okay good we go and we might actually change the color of that Cobblestone to fit the ground material better something like that that looks better um we'll go ahead and have it come out towards the lake from over [Music] here there we go go ahead and add some more round in there with small splotches of grass here and there like that get a really small one right there I guess not there we go something like that [Music] okay um now go ahead and add some catches out here a little bit fill everything up a little bit just kind of give some details to the environment okay we're almost done with the environment sculpting now I'm going to go ahead and add some more elevation and areas around our Pathway to kind I lock Us in the environment and we'll go ahead and move our assets back as well we're at it okay and just basically do some like mounds and stuff like this okay I've went ahead and added the hills around uh the map um and the next step that I'm going to be doing is basically just painting uh rock around on the uh sharper sides of these little Hills I have here like this um I'm going to be using both my rock materials so this one and this one as well have some variance and basically just going to kind of place on these like edges right here and that'll be sort of the style that we go for for all of these areas any slopes and stuff like this would be covered in rock okay something like that um and then we'll grab some of our rocks over here these rocks do have grass on them so we'll try and see how um we'll balance these out and the MH do something like this like that don't want to use too many of these Mees individually we want to be somewhat mindful of our perance here but roughly roughly roughly do stuff like this on the sides of our FR and this grass uh extra is actually a little to dark for our drain but that's fine you guys can just always just change the color of the grass or what not but I'm just going to keep that as is for now and we'll sort of just set tress this little hell [Music] area with these assets this something like that and go ahead and just add some here at the top as well that there we go and do this do something like that and said is we have the only one that we have I see a few more I could grab but to do that right now maybe it's some out an angle maybe something like that and we're essentially just going to do this all throughout the uh rest of the map all right uh I finished doing the rest of the Rocks here placing them around and whatnot composing Mi up um the next uh step this fig will be placing the vegetation and these will be the assets I'll be placing I have ferns little plant things around the water uh and as well some smaller rocks that I may place around as well we're going to start with the smaller objects first so we don't have to worry about looking underneath these and placing bushes and stuff we can place the bushes first um so we'll go ahead and start on that [Music] be sure to always rotate your bushes give it variety always makes it look better because trust me it's always possible to tell whenever people don't rotate and as well usually uh most of the time whenever I do Place bushes I try to keep them in where the grass decoration is I try not to place where the leafy grass material is and be sure to make size variations as well some bigger some [Music] smaller this might be too many bushes for one little area but whatever doesn't matter too much it's not like this is for a game yeah something like that looks good uh we might actually need some bushes for ferns cuz we're going to place the bushes first and then we're going to go over with the fern so I'm going to actually cut back on the amount of bushes I'm using density of them make them more spread out and don't be afraid to shove all like the majority of the asset into the ground um some areas look better like that because if you just do this it's like it's just not going to look good but if you shove it in the ground get just a few little areas to pop up it'll look much better fits the area that it's at so this is about what I'll be doing for the rest of the U map or see rather with the bushes so I'll go ahead and quickly do uh this composition I'm just going to put them up water and locate that over and in case anybody is wondering really quickly how I'm navigating through the uh tools really quickly so I'm using hot keys and the hot keys for select move scale and rotate R control one control 2 control 3 control 4 and then I have other additional hot keys for as well those are custom so you guys can set those up yourselves your own preference so go ahead and do some general f placement like this we'll keep these next to the water bring some of these bushes down a little bit like that and we're essentially just going to do this for the rest of the map now and then we'll get to the tree placs all right I'm back gotten all these uh bushes quickly placed I uh went ahead and quickly made some groups groupings um some of the vegetation assets just so I can place them a little bit faster this is the one I'm using right now we editing right now rather and this would be right here should put some of the bushes together with the ferns made the regroupings place them around and now we'll go ahead and get on with the tree placement make this a little bit bigger there we go okay and let's go ahead and bring these bring these two over first start placing these around scene here might go ahead and just move the Sun up different position there yeah I like [Music] it actually do I like it I don't like it [Music] some of these trees we may Place into the ground like that just so they kind of look like really cool shrubs some place regularly have anything in this area right here follow this in these groupings over there we go there we go see what these right there okay now we're done with all these uh regular tree placements so this is where we're at now with the scene go ahead and delete these not going to use a smaller now we're going to place these in specific areas that I feel are good enough for it just right here go ahead and move this over or maybe just delete him entirely there's the other place I had in mind for this over here let's right there we go then the other one think it was there actually okay uh that's pretty much it for the tutorial this is what the finalized version of the map looks like in game hope you all we hopefully able to take away something useful from this and to be able to apply it to your own Works uh and I believe that's it [Music] he [Music]
