Everyone is struggling to shoot in NBA 2K27, except me. I have been shooting the absolute lights out in today's video. I'm here to give you guys my settings, tips, and everything that you need to know to do the exact same. I've seen a lot of people talking about, "Yo, RNG is back. Yo, it's impossible to shoot." But in reality, guys, there's a lot of things that you're overlooking, and I promise you, if you spend me 10 minutes watching this video, you will be a good shooter for the entirety of the [music] year.
So, smash the like button, sub to the channel if you're new, and share this video with your friends because they're going to need this. All right, fellas. I usually wait to make this video, but I have been seeing all over my Twitter timeline, all over TikTok, all over Instagram that nobody can shoot. So, here I am. I'm going to save you guys. Please, buckle up your seatbelts, lock in. Do not skip around in this video.
It is worth the watch. I promise you, you will be a better shooter by the end of this, okay? So, let me go ahead and start you guys off in the jump shot [music] creator. Now, listen. I know what you guys are thinking, "Chuck, I don't need to be in the jump shot creator. Why are you showing me this?" This right here is the biggest reason that majority of you guys are struggling. I want you guys to look at the shot attributes on the bottom right, and look at the release window, guys.
The reason that there is no stability in your jump shots, and it feels like you're getting random speed-ups, random slow-downs, sometimes the shot's fast, sometimes it's slow, is because of your release window. So, what you need to do is lock in and find jump shots that have a higher graded green windows, okay? There is a ton of them. If you guys need me to do a video on this, I will. But look, switching to right Allen alone gets me to a B plus.
You can switch and play around and find jump shots that have really good release windows, and I'm telling you guys, this is the biggest problem. A lot of you guys do not realize it. You're like, "Oh my gosh, I can't shoot with Quentin Grimes. This is BS." The reason you guys are not able to shoot with Grimes consistently, first of all, most of you guys already aren't great shooters, and you are using a jump shot that has a D minus release window, guys.
They are trying to nerf jump shots like Quentin Grimes that get really high off of the ground. So, you're going to have to give it up a little bit if you cannot find consistency in your shot. So, I'm going to be real with you guys. There's not a lot of jump shots that elevate extremely high that have high release windows. But, I'm going to give you guys five jumpers right here. Number one, David West. As you guys can see, it gets off the ground good.
I know it sounds troll cuz David West was a big man. You'll be able to knock it down. Number two is J.R. Smith. As you guys can see, he gets off the ground relatively well. It still has high grades everywhere else and it's a really, really fast jump shot. Number three is Michael Porter Jr. This shot's been good in previous 2Ks and it's really good in this one as well. Number four is Scottie Pippen. Obviously, your release window is a little bit smaller, but this is a shot that a lot of people found consistency with in the past and they will find it easy to get their green window back on this one.
And number five, like I said, Ray Allen. Ray Allen is a really consistent jump shot and it's been good in previous years. You will be able to green this. If you guys don't believe me, I need you to think for 3 and 1/2 seconds. Have you guys played any randoms in the park that you'll get good contest on and they're still greening it and you're like, "Why are they greening [music] it and I can't?" It's cuz they have on the random jump shots with high release windows.
Watch. There's significantly more things that you guys need to know about shooting, man. So, let me go ahead and lock in and tell you guys. And you guys might think that you know them all, but I promise you don't. So, look. You guys need to have hot zones everywhere on the court. I need to get that neutral zone fixed, but you need to have hot zones everywhere on the court. And then you guys need to do your art of the shooting drills and get your lethal zones, man.
That is going to change the game for you. For those of you guys who don't know where to go in order to get your hot zones, go to Street Kings and play versus Crypto the Clown. He's like 5'2. You can shoot over him every single play and you guys are not going to have problems getting your hot zones there because it is on rookie. Now, one of the biggest changes this year, guys, is the takeover system. And this is where you really need to lock in and pay attention.
As you guys can see on the screen right here, okay? That's your boosted attributes when frozen, your boosted attributes when cold, your boosted attributes when neutral, your boosted attributes with warm, and then your boosted attributes when hot and also takeover. Now, I know that this might seem obvious, guys, but this game is a game that you need to have positive takeover. Positive takeover is the most important concept that you guys need to learn [music] in NBA 2K27.
And when I say positive takeover, that doesn't mean, "Oh, you know, I'm about to pop takeover." No. Positive takeover is building on positive plays and eliminating negative ones. And I know this type of concept seems [music] obvious, and I know it's like, "Well, yeah, Chuck, I want to make good plays and I don't want to make bad ones." But no, you need to understand that in order to shoot good, you have to build on good plays.
That takeover system this year, guys, the way that they have set it up is basically when you're playing bad, you're going to struggle. When you're playing good, you're going to continue to stay good. And that's why a lot of people are like, "Oh, it's RNG. It's RNG." because they'll start off the game with a miss or with a turnover or with a negative play, a foul, anything like that, and then boom, now they can't make open jump shots, now they're struggling, now their shots are kaboom.
And if you miss one to two, potentially two to three in a row, it's over with. You are not going to be able to make a shot [music] until you get positive takeover going again. Add on to the fact that Mike Wang has already tweeted and stated himself that if you are shooting 40-plus percent from the three-point line, you are in the top 1%. This is intentional, guys. They shrunk the green window and they are trying to bring a skill gap to shooting.
And before you guys go, "Oh, you know, this is this is stupid." I'm telling you right now, put on one of those jump shots, focus on the concepts that I'm teaching you, and you guys will be out here shooting like it's NBA 2K26 again. This is why I'm shooting good. I've seen a lot of people coping and they're like, "Oh, you only shoot like this because you're shooting fades and fades are different than stand stills." No, that is not why.
The reason that I'm shooting so good on fades is because I always shoot better on fades than I do on regular shots. If you guys are a standstill player, you just have to take these concepts and apply them to your game. Start the game with an assist. Start the game with a dunk. Start the game with a midi. Start the game with something that is going to move your meter in the right direction and I'm telling you, you will move like this the entire game.
And even if you are somebody that gets takeover and misses a shot or two in a row, you've probably noticed that once you do two to three bad plays in a row, it's over with for you. You will not throw a rock in the ocean. Picture shooting slump from NBA 2K24 and kind of put it on steroids, man. I'm telling you guys right now, they are trying and they are honestly succeeding with bringing a skill back back to shooting.
I promise you guys, if you guys get used to this system and you just lab it and you start to understand the concepts. Now that you guys know how the game is intended to be played, you're going to see that you are going to have a lot more success playing the game with these concepts in mind. And as I said, if you guys are focusing on that release window, again, it's all of the grades combined. It's not just the release window, but you need all of the grades combined.
When you have a jumper that has all of the grades combined, it is so much more forgiving than I I I'm telling you. I know everybody on the planet right now is using Quentin Grimes because why wouldn't you? Every creator was using it and it was the best shot last year, but you can go through all of the prevalent jump shots last year, like Matt Ryan, like Quentin Grimes, etc. And they all have terrible release windows.
They want us to move on from our NBA 2K26 sigs and move into trying to learn and lab NBA 2K27. And listen, fellas, a lot of you are not going to want to hear this, but it is 2026, soon to be 2027, man. It is time to get a 1 ms response time controller if you guys are playing this game, man, timing is everything. Number one, you guys need to have a 1 ms controller on PlayStation. I don't know if they have these. I'm not sure what your best solution is on PlayStation.
I'm pretty sure that you guys are going to have to use [music] the DualSense Edge. I don't know how that works. You guys can probably buy a modded controller that is going to be 1 ms. On Xbox, it's a lot easier, which is why a majority of the competitive players on 2K switched to Xbox. For those of you guys who are like, "Oh, it's cuz they're zenning. It's cuz of this." Nope, it's not. It's because it's so much easier and you have so much more accessories that you can access.
And guys, realistically, in terms of a monitor, I know a gaming setup is expensive, but in general, you're going to elevate in every single game that you play. Even if you guys are somebody that's like, "Oh, you know, Chuck, I don't want to buy, [music] you know, a monitor for this or a 1 ms for that." This is going to help you in every game that you play, guys. For about 100 bucks, man, even less than that, you can get a monitor right here for 65.
And I guarantee you, if you guys check Facebook Marketplace, you guys can find [music] these controllers and you guys can find these monitors for even cheaper. You can have like a nice setup [music] for about 100 bucks, man, and it will change not only your 2K experience, but just your gaming experience as a whole. A lot of you guys aren't going to want to hear this, either. You guys need to start upgrading your internet.
In order for you to perform in timing-based games, you have milliseconds of green windows. Every millisecond matters, guys. You need to upgrade your speed if you can, and you guys need to be plugged into your ethernet if you can. Playing wireless in 2026 is absolutely troll. I'm not saying that everybody has the capabilities to upgrade their internet, but you all have the capabilities to get a ethernet cable, man. My box is so far away from my computer, from my Xbox.
I have a 100-ft long ethernet cord. It literally runs all the way to the other side of the house, and I'm still plugged in. You guys can do the same, and you also don't need to be playing wirelessly. You need to be playing wired in. It makes a huge difference. And that, my friends, is the end of today's video. If you guys enjoyed this video at all, please smash the like button and share it with your friends. It's going to help them out a lot.
If you guys want to see more videos like this, let me know in the comments. And if you guys have any questions, comments, or concerns, or things that you need help with, let me know in the comments. And also, guys, I'm probably live on the purple app or here. So, come through and ask any questions cuz I will do my best to help all of you. But, I love you all. Appreciate you guys for watching. And as always, it's your boy ToXiK.
Two for more and I'm out. Peace. Let's run it up in 2K27.
