No Script X-ray for this video: YouTube shows a Most replayed graph only once a video has enough views.
hi gamer here in this video we show you how to fix the no PDG folder found error that shows up when working with the city sample project to make your own custom City at the moment you add the city processor node to the network so without further Ado let's get started first why do you see the error in the first place this error appears only if you are using the Python 3 version of Houdini chances is that you are using it as the python 2 version is still there for only for compatibility with old Houdini projects anyway the download page in Houdini website shows by default the Python 3 version so this is the one you use the error is due to the presence of python 2 scripts in one or many Houdini nodes in the project you're using this is interesting as the obvious question would be why do we have python 2 code in a recent Houdini project like the city sample Matrix project anyway the reason is simply a Python language syntax one in Python 2 the print fiction don't use the parentheses to show the text message but python true version do for example print hello world for Python 3 with the parenthesis and you can notice you have to put the text you want to print between parentheses whereas print hello world in the python do version would be without any parenthesis it's not the only difference between the two and if you want more information about the key differences between the two versions of python feel free to check this link that you'll find in the video description to fix the issue we'll have to go to the city processor node then right click on it then click on type properties in the showing window go to scripts tab then in description search for each print function you found and add parenthesis to all the text messages like shown in the video the final step click apply and save to make the changes back to the ctprocessor.hda this will permanently save the changes for your next city you create that's it it was a quick one I hope you like the content and it was useful for you like subscribe to the channel and see you in my next videos
