I Gave the Grok Bot AI Trading Bot $10,000 for 22 Hours… Here’s What Happened transcript

GrokBot is taking the internet by surprise, but I have one single question. Can it actually trade? To find out, I gave it access to a trading account with $10,000 and told it to trade for 22 hours. But that's not all. Whilst it was trading, I gave it full access to my automated trading system that made me 102% in 12 months. So, in this video, GrokBot has two challenges. First, can it make trades and make money without being given a strategy?

And second, can it turn itself into a full no-code AI trading desk that runs the same system that made me 102%. You will see every trade, every setup, every prompt that I use, the final results, so you can steal this AI trading desk yourself. But for that to happen, we need to start right now. Okay, before we jump over to my screen, let's go very quickly over the roadmap. This video is going to be in five parts. First of all, we're going to be setting up GrokBot, and I'm going to show you why it's been taking the internet by storm.

Second, we're going to install the tools that we need for this big experiment to work. Don't worry, it's going to be easy, and there will be no coding involved. And in third place, this is where the fun starts. We're going to tell GrokBot to trade for 22 hours straight with no rules. It sets up its own rules and starts trading. And number four, whilst it's trading, I'm going to show you how to set up your automated trading desk, just like the one that I built, which made me 102% in a 12-month period.

And at number five, we will review the results 22 hours later. Did Grok make profit, and did it make any profitable trading strategies? So, let's get over to my computer. Okay, here I am on the website for GrokBot. This is what you should expect to see for GrokBot. We're going to [music] just download it by clicking download. Let me just go very, very quickly through a high-end overview of what you should expect. Grok bot looks very much like a messaging app, either iMessage, Telegram, where you are talking directly to AI.

It is a totally different experience to what you expect from ChatGPT. These agents can talk to each other, have their own personalities, and all work on different jobs, and also work together on a common goal. It's absolutely insane. They have channels where they can all work together. And also, you can directly talk to a chief manager, or you can talk to them at generally one by one. This is a completely different experience to whatever we've had before.

I can totally understand why this is actually taking the internet by storm. Instead of having to choose your models, all of those kind of things, everything is done inside of a simple chat box, where you only have access to one [music] single AI, which is obviously Grok. All the decisions are taken away from you to make the actual app simple and easy to use. So, unlike some of the other agents which I absolutely love and respect like Hermes agent, everything just is ready and done and simple.

We're going to download it. We're going to up here, press download, and I'm just going to show you exactly what it looks on like on my computer. So, I've already installed it. You literally download it and install it like a simple app. You do have to log in either with your X account or with your cursor account. Since the beginning of the week is now included in all super plans from X and cursor pro plans as well. So, it is now available to almost everybody that is actually paying for it.

As before, it was only the super plus plans. All right. So, let's get into the app. I've been using it for about a week now. I've got to say that I absolutely love the interface and the way that we can talk. I think that's very cool is in on the mobile app, we have exactly the same interface, which is synchronized over to our computer. They have access to their own computer, so you don't have to worry about things not synchronizing and things like that.

So, as I said earlier, as you can see, I have multiple agents already. I'm going to start up a new project in a minute, but we have two pinned agents at the top here. They are what I call my CEOs. They are the big bosses that talk to all of the other agents, so that I don't have to worry about all of these agents and talking to them one by one. You can talk to them at the top here, and they will pass the message between each other and make sure that the job is actually done correctly.

Okay, so the first thing we're going to do is we're going to ask our Grok bot if it can start trading. I'm going to be setting up one single agent for this job. We don't need to set up multiple agents. We're going to click on the plus button up here and press new bot. Okay, that is a high-end overview of a Grok bot and what it actually is and why it just is a little bit special. Next, we're going to keep installing every tool that we need for the two experiments.

Don't worry, it's going to be pretty easy and straightforward, and there will be no code needed. Right, let's go back to my computer. Okay, to do this, all of the tools are absolutely free of charge, so you won't have to buy anything. The first thing we're going to be using is something called Trigger Trade. Trigger Trade is kind of like a middleman that allows us to connect our bots over to our brokerage account. If your brokerage isn't listed here, don't worry about it.

There are plenty of middleman services on the internet will do exactly the same. So, I'm going to be using Bybit today, and then I'm just going to go here and click on this link here. And this will give me the Trigger Trade skills. I'm going to go all the way to the bottom and go over to my Grok installation. I'm going to set up a brand new chat for our bot, and this one's going to be called the trader. I'm going to rename it over here to trader bot.

And we're just going to press okay. Now we have our first new trading bot just here, and you can see it's already asked us what you would like us to do. I'm just going to give it the full prompt and ask it to install that skill. Hey there, buddy. Below you will find a full installation instruction of a skill that I'd like you to set up. Take me through the onboarding because I'd like to set up my Bybit account. I'm just going to paste that.

I'll also put in the link just here from the GitHub repository at the top here. Boom. And I'm going to hit enter, and it's going to ask me a couple of questions. Okay, once it's done, you should have a success message looking like this. I'm in demo mode because I've actually already done this process once before. It will then ask you to set up your API keys and secrets. To do that, we need to go back over to our broker.

I'm going to be using this broker here. As you can see, I already have added $10,000 to my broker account for this 22-hour challenge. Okay, for us to be able to connect the broker over to our exchange, we will be need to give our API key and secret. They are encrypted on your desktop. That is one thing I do like about Trigger Trade is that it's anonymous and everything's encrypted on your computer and not on a third-party service.

So on your broker, normally to find your API keys, you go up to your avatar up here, click on API, click on create a new API key, and follow the instructions. The bot will ask you then to provide them, which it will encrypt and then store directly on your computer. Okay, now that we've given access to Trigger Bot to our trading account, let's check the actual connection. Hey there, buddy. Could you go away and please check my balance on Bybit.

Okay, as you can see, it's now checking the balance. Okay, as you can see, it did hit a bit of a snag the first time, but it did manage to go away and get the full balance of the trading account. It says that we have zero open positions currently at the moment, which is absolutely amazing. We also have the price [music] of BTC by the looks of it. APIs look healthy. Next step, I'm going to take the prompt I used for every single AI release to see whether it can trade, and we're going to paste it in just here.

We're going to paste it in here. It is a pretty simple. You are an autonomous AI trader in a competing in a trading competition. Your mission is to achieve the best possible trading results within the next 22 hours. Couple of rules are that you can't have more than 10 trades open at exactly the same time.

It can make all of its own rules as long as it's not putting the full account balance at risk. So, I'm now going to hit that. It's going to set up its own schedule to check in every couple of minutes on those trades, and then it will build its own sort of logic to start trading, and hopefully we'll see of trades in the next 22 hours. While we're logged in, it's going to be building. It's not going to be using more than $100 collateral, and it's going to be using 10x leverage.

Must always put a stake profit and stop loss as 21 hours under the your rules. Okay, instead of just stopping the video there and coming back with the live trading results, thought it'd be a great idea if we just continued, leave it to trade, and we can build out the full AI trading system that I use, which made me 102% in the past 12 months. Let's see if we can build the same thing with Grok bot just in a couple of prompts.

Okay, so that we get an understanding that we're on the same sheet. This is the AI agent that earned me 102% last year. What it does is it replaces me, who was actually looking for all of the strategies before, and does its own research, builds its own strategies, optimizes them, and then forward tests them. [music] Let me explain very quickly. The research agent goes away to the internet and tries and finds strategies.

It comes back every 15 to 20 minutes with a brand new strategy and then forwards that strategy over to the developer. The developer agent then has its own access [music] to TradingView and tradingkit.com, which I'll explain in a minute, to backtest and find out whether or not that strategy is profitable on the asset class that we asked it for. It then passes that on to the optimizer agent that goes away and finds that the best settings and the best pairs for that strategy.

Not every strategy works on all pairs. We need methods to find out which strategy works best on which pairs, whether they're liquid, whether illiquid, or whatever it is that actually makes them work. Range markets, those kind of things. [music] Each strategy is optimized for a certain asset class and even more targeted than that. It has a choice. Either it rejects and puts it in the bin or goes puts it into forward testing.

What forward testing means is that we put it into like a trading journal and then we leave it for a couple of months to see whether or not it actually trades on live markets like it did in the backtest. Now, this may seem a complete waste of time. It is an essential step. I've backtested over 2,000 strategies and currently I'm only trading seven that actually work on live markets after that forward testing period. Our community now has strategies that have been forward tested for almost three years.

So, if you don't want to wait, you can get access to all of that down in the description as well. Once it goes in for the forward testing, the risk manager helps us to decide what kind of a position sizing this strategy is. It's passed over to the trader agent that can then deploy or not those strategies. The trader agent has the full power then to keep an eye on strategies and works hand-in-hand with the risk management agent to turn on and off strategies when it feels that a strategy may be losing its edge.

So, all of this is made directly inside of a Grok bot. It sounds extremely complicated, but it isn't. It's a couple of prompts which I've put together for you. Once again, down in the description. And all of the tools are absolutely free. Okay, to do this, we're going to be using one single tool. This is tradingkit.com. What tradingkit.com allows us to do is backtest strategies that are built for TradingView. You can give access directly to AI agents to MCP servers to TradingView, but none of them are official and you risk getting banned.

The difference between tradingkit.com is that we've actually built our own backtesting engine which which emulates the TradingView's backtesting results with 99.9% parity between TradingView and these. So, you don't risk getting your TradingView account banned. We're community. We've been building strategies all together and there is 814,000 backtests being made all thanks to that our amazing community that's [music] been working together to find these strategies.

Okay, so to install it is pretty simple. You have to sign up for a free account. You go over to the accounts over here. You click this here and copy this code which actually says Claude here, but we're going to make one simple change. We're going to go over to the top and we're going to go and create a brand new bot. We're going to give it a name. I'm going to call it Trader Dev so I can find it again easily. I'm going to paste this in here like this.

I'm going to write Grok instead so it doesn't get confused. And I'm going to say, "Hey there, buddy. Could you please install this MCP server for me globally so that all of the agents have access?" I will whack enter. That's going to go away and install it. It will take a couple of minutes because it does have to adapt the MCP server to Grok and install it on that computer. Otherwise, I've already got it installed myself, but it should auto install with no problems.

Next thing you will do, it will ask you to authenticate. All you have to do is go back to the website, copy this code here, go back over, paste it in, hit enter, and it will authenticate. That way we can then say, "Hey there, buddy. Could you please go away and backtest a very simple trading strategy? Do it on BTCUSDT on the 1-hour timeframe. I just want to check the connection is working." And boom, there you have the backtesting results.

As you can see, it has backtested a SMA on a 9 and 21 cross using BTCUSDT for the last 90 days. There was 118 closed trades. We can ignore these. They were actually profitable with 5.4% net profit and a profit factor of one, but the most essential thing is the connection actually works and everything is great. Okay, now that we've got the connection between Grok Bot and tradingkit.com all working perfect, we can go away and create our full trading desk.

For this, we're going to have to create an agent, which is going to be our top Johnny, and then it will do everything else by creating all of the agents for us. For this to happen, I've created this quite extensive prompt already, which allows us to go through and build the actual agents themselves. As you can see, it tells you the exact pipeline. We have our backtest, then we have our incubator, we have the names for each room from Owen to Gary, and a full live trading [music] desk.

I'm going to copy that over. We're going to go over and create a brand new agent just here. You may have already seen I have one called Gertrude here. It was That is my actual SEO agent. So, I'm just going to go here. We're going to paste that in here. Once again, you'll be able to find the prompt down in the description down below. Once you've pasted that prompt into here, you can hit enter, and you should see all of these agents populating, as you can see here on my actual setup here.

We have a strat that's going to be doing it for Forex, Clive that's going to be looking for crypto setups. We're going to have Gary who's going to be looking for setups on ETFs and we have a mini other setups for different kinds of asset classes. They're going to sit in the background, they're going to be backtesting strategies, building strategies, and passing them off all the way to Liz and Miles who are going to be putting into a forward testing period.

Okay, one fun part about this is is that everything once installed and all of your agents are populated, they will get directly to work. They're going to start backtesting strategies, finding strategies, and as soon as the forward testing period is over, they will ask if you want to go into live trading mode. Okay, so I'll be back here in 21 hours. We'll be able to see if Grok Bot is actually profitable and whether or not we've got any profitable setups which could be potentially live traded.

Okay, so I actually asked Grok Bot how it's actually going. Asked it to report back to me. It's going to wait and it has fetched my wallet balance. Currently, we're down at $6.40, but we do have a couple of trades open at the moment with unrealized profit. We've currently around at $4.50 unrealized profit a long on ETH.

We also had a couple of trades on SOL, ETH, and BTC. So it's actually taking the trades which is the main thing, but let's leave it another couple of hours. It hasn't lost yet. Let's leave it and see whether or not it can actually become profitable. Okay, time is up in 3, 2, 1. Boom! There you have it, 22 hours of trading. Let's go over to my screen and let's have a look at what actually Grok Bot has done. So as you can see, it has actually stopped itself.

Competition is over and it's given us a little bit of an update. Fortunately and unfortunately, didn't make much of a profit, but it did make a 485 cents >> [music] >> in the 22 hours. I'm not really sure whether that's worth it, but let's have a full report. Hey there, buddy, could you give me a full report on the trades that you took? Exactly how many trades and put it into a table. Tell me which ones are wins, losses, etc.

Okay, beautiful. As you can see, it's put it into a wonderful [clears throat] table. Well, there was six trades. It seems that we had one, two, three wins and three losses. Very small trades with only very small profit and also the same for the losses. So, I guess that is fine. We had $11.65 loss and wins and losses $10.81, giving us after fees a profit of 84 cents. I guess for the amount of margin it was using, that isn't actually that bad because it was only using $100 per actual trade and risking a lot less after all of the stop loss and take profits were put in place.

I guess in some ways after fees it is a win. Although unfortunately, that is not going to make me rich. Okay, let's go over to Gertrude and ask Gertrude if she can open the best trading strategy that they found. Hey there, Gertrude, could you open in my browser the best strategy that you've found on TradingView? And boom, there we have it. This is the best strategy that they managed to find. I think there was about 50 strategies.

Most of them were absolutely rubbish. So, you can actually see it is drawing the indicators on the chart with the stop loss and take profits. I did that midway, but I absolutely forgot to record it. So, let's have a look at the back testing results. They look absolutely amazing.

We have 1,703% net profit A max drawdown of 21%. We have a win rate of almost 60%, which is pretty insane, and a profit factor of 1.43. The equity curve looks absolutely amazing. So, by giving it the access to the boiler plate, it gets access to all of my best indicators like the T3 and all of that. This one was a back tested on Sui USDT on the 90-minute time frame. The equity curve looks absolutely insane. I'm very, very much interested in putting this live.

Okay, guys, before we go any further, just a couple of rules that I will be taking this strategy that Grok Bot had found, putting it into an incubation period. What that literally means is I'm going to put that into a trading journal for at least 3 months to make sure that it actually trades correctly. 99% of back testing results will end up in the strategy falling apart. So, you can't just trust a back tested results.

You do have to put it into an incubation period. Number of trades and all of that look absolutely amazing. The equity curve looks great. Although, at the end we did have a bit of a dip just around here. I'm just going to leave it for 3 months to see whether or not I actually really want to trade this. Next steps in the next couple of videos, I'll show you how to connect this directly over to your broker, so you don't have to trade at all.
