Okay, so we just had probably the most significant set of AI announcements, 20 in total by OpenAI yet, probably since chat GPT release. Okay, there's things for everybody here. I want to talk about all of this, but especially I think I have a unique take here on what this means for people because between, you know, dots and the the hyperfast API and new API endpoints that they have, I have notes on all of it here. the decisions API, which basically takes what Jeff was doing last week and everybody was excited about and puts it into the OpenAI universe.
All of those things and GPD 6.1 soul and the new sites, there's just so much to unpack here, but I don't think all of it matters equally as much. And the reason for that is because there's different groups of AI users. So, in this video, I want to kind of break down my view on AI adoption today. how these products relate. And then finally, I want to let you go with what I'm looking forward to and what I'll be doing throughout the next few days with these products.
Okay? Then obviously more videos coming on exactly what use cases, prompts, and combinations of think work. That's what we do on this channel that's coming. This video is a discussion of this madness that just happened so we can process this together. All right. So, first up, let me show you my iPad and let me talk about kind of the AI landscape as I see it, right? I've been privileged enough um and and I had the the honor of teaching well millions of people on this channel, hundred thousands of people through various programs and products over the past few years on AI.
Okay. So, this perspective isn't just grounded in what I kind of just feel like. This is literally what we see on the ground. So I think kind of the AI market is like there's this thin sliver. Um this is less than 0.1% by the way of power users. Now a lot of people a lot of power users watch you know channels like this videos like this or they hang out on Reddit and on Twitter all day and they're in this little bubble where they think everybody is a power user like them.
But the reality is you go out into the real world and you go out into people using AI every day and you're going to realize no not everybody is using codecs and cloud code and has a Mac Mini and has free OpenAI accounts and and maxes out all of them. No, that's freakish behavior when we look at wider society. Okay, it's a great thing if you're in that group. Hey, shout out to you. I feel you. I think I know I'm in that group too because I max out my accounts and rack up API bills and try all of the latest stuff.
That's when you dedicate a big part of your life to AI. That's when you're here. Dev Day delivered a ton of stuff for these people. Okay, so then there's a second camp of people. Okay, this is probably way too large, but I would say that's probably another one to two% of society where they're paying for a paid plan and they're actually actively using it. You know, they state they have 1.2 million billion weekly active users.
Sure, but that includes the free accounts or people just making an image and all of that stuff. The people who are actually using it, like there's new A16Z research, I quoted this recently, only 3% of US consumers are actually paying for AI accounts out of their own pocket. That's that's US consumers, okay? Working age. That's incredible. So, this second group, okay, for for this second group, oh, oops, wrong screen.
For this second group, there's also a lot of stuff that came out here, and I'm going to tell you exactly what it is in a second. But I think the most exciting piece by far is that for this third group of people that are on free accounts or maybe they have a subscription, but they don't use it fully. they haven't explored I don't know skills connectors sites even these capabilities that you know are required for you to use this to its even even 50% of its potential this group okay for this this new dots feature sugar so for this group which I don't know you know and then there's then there's everybody else I don't know the exact percentage of this group it's probably I mean if they stayed 1.2 2 billion.
It's probably the other like 20%. And then you have everybody else who's like not using AI at all and just complaining about it, which you know there's some points there, but they I don't know if they really hold up to a thorough discussion. But we're here to talk about the products. And I think when it comes to these products, and now let's get into it. When it comes to dots, that thing, and the reason why I wanted to frame the video like this, oh my god, the dots in here.
I'm just going to draw a dot. That's what's going to convert and give capabilities of these folks to these folks. So all of a sudden you went from like one to two% maybe it's it's free whatever you want to say. All of a sudden you gave those capabilities to 10 times more people to eight times more people. Okay. And why I think that is super exciting is because not just that these people got more capabilities also us up here.
Like if you're watching this video, chances are you're in this upper trench and also we got these new capabilities. So what's new with dots and and why do I think this is so exciting for a way larger group of people than these AI releases usually are? Okay. And then we'll talk about some of the other stuff. So I think dots basically bring open claw level capabilities, Hermes level capabilities of literally uh always on 247 agent with its own computer that can connect securely connect to all your accounts and just get digital tasks done to everybody.
Like they literally announced that you're going to be it's not going to be available yet even if it rolls out in the next day or two. you're going to be able to call in to the agent and you're going to be able to talk to him using the state of the arts chatbt voice um to talk to the agent. Incredible. So, you're literally setting up you're literally giving a executive assistant to a billion people. Okay. So, that is super exciting.
Secondly, there was this phrase in the presentation of dots that that really resonated with me. They said it's like a second pair of hands. And I thought that was a really good way to summarize what like an open claw does for people who have figured this out for themselves over the past few months. Now, to be clear, when I say dots, I'm also kind of referring to Muse and Grock uh bot, which by the way, did you see that cheeky move from Grockbot?
They went ahead. Let me show you my browser. They went ahead and they bought dot.com. So if you type in dot.com, you're going to you're going to crockpot. This is so good. What a masterful troll move. Anyway, they're in the same product category, right? They're trying to productize Open Claw for the masses. Muse is doing it with the cute character and all the Facebook integrations. So, I think this is fantastic and I think you'll see so much content out of this channel and overall the Advantage brand focusing on this that it's like not even funny.
I think this is the future of AI for most people. They're starting with one dot, by the way, if you didn't catch that. They give you one dot for now and then only later once people get comfortable, they're going to expand to you having multiple dots. Grockbot went straight to multiple bots, but honestly, you know, it's a great product, but the model is just not that good. It cannot replicate my teaching style. It doesn't do the analysis at a level that Astra does.
The computer use is okay. Astra computer use is unbelievable. So look, the key to this product in summary, I could talk about all the little details and all the notes I have here. Like the key to it is that it just brings together all of these things that before you had to figure out yourself. And now we can spend all of our time focusing on what to actually do with these tools that you wouldn't have done otherwise. Like I think they always use the travel booking demos because people already book their travel manually and if you if you're like okay look this dot can now book your travel or Muse can book your travel.
It's like oh I get it that connects but there's a whole category of use cases of stuff that you would not do because it's not worth your time or maybe you didn't have the skills that these dots can do for you. Now that's what I'm interested in. Okay. So for this like 20 So for this like whole segment of people this entire thing right here all of this all of these people will be using these dots even at a pro um level.
So look dots incredible I get it. But then beyond that there were so many more announcements. I don't want to talk about every single one of them. I just want to talk about the few things that stood out to me from my notes here and give you kind of my takes on them because I think some of this stuff is exceptional. Some of it is just taking what was already present in some of the competitors. Like I think another big thing for all of these like 23% like all active AI users now it's going to be these sites that integrate with plugins.
Okay. So if you're not familiar sites are a way to host websites in chat GPT really simply pretty nice URL and it just gets the site up. It looks like a legit site. Now you can use all plugins in combination, which means you're going to be able to build something like your AI operating system yourself. It's still going to, you know, take a little bit of guidance, I believe, to, you know, connect your email and your calendar into one dashboard that you built that lives inside of your account.
But then your dot can use the dashboard. You can show up every morning and you can have emails that have already been answered and appointments that have already been scheduled based on your context and the calendar's context. Okay, now I think I'm going a bit too far. Like for people who are familiar with this type of stuff, it's like yeah, sure, easy, cool. Yes, user friendly. But for people who are not familiar with this, this idea of even connecting multiple tools is foreign.
And I think these products are going to make it simple because you're going to talk to your dot just like you talk to Muse or you talk to Grockbot and you're going to say, "Hey, I have so many emails. What do I do?" And then it's going to suggest some of these workflows. Now, in my experience, there's a big difference of setting something up and setting something like if you set it up intuitively, oftent times you're at like a five or six out of 10, and when you refine it, you get to like a nine or a 10 out of 10, which is the goal.
So, I don't think any of this is going to be just kind of like plugandplay. But I think channels like this one or other education is actually going to become more important now. And this might be a contrarian intake because some people are saying, "Hey, Gore, but what if you know these agents are so simple to use and they just use all of these features, they'll know what to do." Well, I would say, have you thought about how the internet shaped society?
And have you thought about how the advent of social media and how kind of Tik Tok became a thing and YouTube became a thing. What did that do to education around social media content creation around I don't know e-commerce that became possible right created this whole new category of education around that right like all the drop shipping bros creating you know the e-commerce courses that was not a thing before the internet.
This is way deeper than drop shipping. There's so many options and all these people that I get to work with, each one of them uses it in a slightly different way. Like even if you take like real estate agents, each real estate agent has like different use cases that are unique to them. Although it's like a pretty tightly defined category, it's kind of crazy because they operate differently. They have different standards for their work.
There's so much variability in the oneoff that the demos they use have to be things like travel booking. so it can connect with everybody. Okay, so that's that's my take on that. I think ultimately what we're going to see and and and I'll say this as I go through some of these other releases and leave you with a practical takeaway. I think ultimately what we're going to see is we're going to see a lot of consumers and people who barely scratch the surface of Chat GPT now have a really good time with Dots because it's intuitive and because you can go into uh this new interface and you can kind of just talk to it.
You can use voice, you can use a phone call and all of a sudden it has the ability to draft up a document which you know sounds simple but if you didn't connect Google Docs like how is it going to set that up? You could like it's going to give you a markdown file and a normie is going to be like what do I do with a markdown file? By the way, ignore me. I don't mean it derogatively like it's a term used in the AI space for people who are just like not manically obsessed with this stuff basically right but people like were like yeah how do I create a document and intuitively chat GPT you know they tried the canvas thing then they removed it again they didn't have a good solution now with dots they're also adding kind of a Google docs knockoff with Google slides coming later it's kind of a combination of Google Docs and and notion which is Beautiful.
But basically what this is, it's everything coming together. It's all of these most important features that some of their competitors did coming into one thing. Okay? So we don't just get the dot that gets to command it all, but we also get to set up sites that are connected to your other tools and your plugins. We also get this word editor that is going to be present. And along with improvements in the models with the new GPT 6.1 Saul model that is cheaper and basically performs the same as Astra most things but it's like 10 times cheaper.
Everything is coming together. Their computer use is bestin-class. Their their plug-in marketplace has now expanded and people will be able to f add plugins and also add they they added like a new modality. I have to look further into that into like like like you can do like new types of plugins I think or plug-in extensions, right? So, it's interesting. Everything just got an upgrade across the board, but usually that would just mean the top 1% of this by now really messy drawing uh benefiting of that, right?
Usually only the the people geeking out over this stuff would get to get the benefit. But with this new old product, I think that it's actually going to go to a wider group. Maybe not everybody. Maybe maybe more something like maybe more something like this. But that's a huge upgrade from, you know, this very small group of people who are geeking out and this top trench of people who are like power users of this stuff getting the benefits of this.
Okay. Now, one more thing that got me so excited. My probably favorite thing from all of this. I'm I can't wait for dots because I'm going to be teaching in it and and exploring it and I already have like a vault of use cases because I've been working with Muse and with Grockpot a lot. But the thing that got me most excited from everything that I heard here, could you guess? Could you guess for longtime viewers of the channel which part got me most excited?
I tend to speak fast sometimes when I get excited. That's a hint. It's the ultra fast mode. Eight times faster, guys. In my open claw setup, I'm on fast mode like 70% of the time. I just I find my mind drifting when I work on something and then I have to wait for the output for a minute or two. Like I'll just start two other things. But gosh, I know there was like a phase like when was it like two years ago, one and a half years ago.
I I was playing games while vibe coding stuff cuz I couldn't, you know, I was doing free things at the same time, but then you had to like wait for a minute. Ultraast solves that. And also the Oh my god. I mean, my god, I'm just I'm just so looking forward to that. I'm going to be running that all the time. And what it basically means that if you're willing to pay more now you can get well four times more speeds than you got in the fast mode.
Fast mode was 2x. This is 8x. I I'm I'm so excited about that. And it's not about the little tasks. It's about creating new things where this comes in handy. So this is really a top 1% trench type of use case. The ultra fast thing just to be clear that's going to be up here. But then they had one more announcement which was also um it was basically Jev. It was Jeff but from OpenAI, right? They call it the decisions API and the decisions API is basically just the ultra super fast model that makes binary decisions for you and it speeds up browser use.
So if you're building things, you can go eight times faster if you've paid the money. If you're just an everyday user, it's cheaper and more reliable and more sustainable and more accurate than ever to use the browser and to do ordinary tasks. And you could literally just phone in and talk to this thing with the voice models. Like I guess my grand point is everything has come together here for OpenAI. And I'm sure some of like other companies are going to follow, right?
There's there's rumors of of Gemini having their product like this and Claude is going to make their move and Grockbot, you know, bought the domain and has their own version and the models are going to get better. But I think this moment, this moment of chat should be unifying all these capabilities between having an easy to use interface with an dot that you just talk to that has its own computer that runs 247 that can use a browser and that browser use actually is more than good enough to do pretty much virtually everything.
Like with Astra, you can pilot all of this complicated software too. Now, all of that coming together with the decisions API that makes the little things faster in the browser, the new soul models at better prices. Gosh, I sorry for repeating myself, but I really think this is a milestone AI. I really think this is where things converge and this is where we're going to see a lot more adoption from people who are not in that camp or like not in a position where they they even can spend two to three hours a day with this type of stuff.
Okay, I know that a lot of people watching this channel are in that camp. A lot of others are curious and like watching that type of life, but this is going to open it up. this makes me want to call my mom and tell her and give her a little class um on the dots. So now it's your job to kind of think about how that affects your business or your line of work, your career. like what is it going to mean if you were in a small little exclusive group of people who were like using AI to you know even a fraction of its potential or let's say let's call it to like you were using a lot of the potential and now like imagine a world in which like every fourth person on the street actually has all of those capabilities what does that mean for you it's a good question I would love to hear in the comments and I'll certainly keep thinking about that myself.
You can expect a whole lot more tutorials on this technology, how to do things step by step. These are just some thoughts that I wanted to get out immediately as I usually do when big things like this come out. All right, that's it. You know, unscripted raw coffee talk with Eigor. I hope you took something from this and yeah, going to be in the comments. Can't wait to talk to you guys. See you soon.
