we're going to say it again like we did in the first example of the spacing it doesn't mean you have to go it just means you have the option to go a fake challenge it's going to be more effective okay because we give that Gap um The Gap has increased between ourselves and the opponent compared to

hello everyone I hope you've all been doing very well over the last four months I do apologize massively for the lack of videos um I did get a little bit busy with obviously the world championship in September and then a little bit of a break after the season uh but then I was moving back to England um and I did get a little bit lazy with this channel so I do massively apologize for that but on the uh on the positive note I'm not giving up with this channel um I'm ABS going to be keeping on pumping out this content um and then I I want to keep getting back to it and and try and get maybe one uh maybe two Max videos out a week but with that being said I do want you guys to give some suggestions in the comments of things that you want to see on this channel things you want to learn whether it's tutorials or carry on doing this analysis I'm really open to anything if not a mix of both so please do let me know I do have a um also thank you so much for the support that you guys have given on some of the videos on this channel it's been absolutely incredible I um some of the positive comments is are great and the fact that you guys learn is is amazing to me so um I do have a replay analysis for you guys today this is a One V one analysis of a champ 3 versus an SSL okay so a very big difference in skill level however our opponent is an SL in 2v2 they're a gc3 and 1 V one but they're at that SL level overall in twos basically that's what we go off um our our player that we're looking at here today Luna shout out to Luna twitch sub over on Twitch obviously um and that's how they get their replay analyzed not a guarantee basically something extra I give to my twitch Subs whenever I record a video like this I pick out their pool of replays so shout out to Luna now Luna said this is assault mine qualifier that's why they're playing against an slsl opponent um and yeah that's it's a tournament qualifier so they said that they've been grinding hundreds of ones games this season with little success in ranking up and they said that their strengths very quickly are aggression SL beinging annoying mechanics kickoffs love being One V one which is a great strength and their weaknesses are being aggressive but not actually getting any possession being too scared on defense which leads to get scored on not getting shots when I should be finishing not recognizing how fast I should be going they've been adapting the mentality of just go go go and hope they learn and lastly possession so our aim as always with replay analysis is to break some of these very broad very kind of vague points down into more manageable things that we can specifically work okay so that's what our aim is for example possession quite a broad quite a vague thing how can we pinpoint exactly what is going wrong with The Possession um and identify whether it is even correct that that is a weakness based off this game and then create some strategies for them to to learn on from that so I want to very quickly point this out before we go on any further in this replay so this position happens a turn in 1 V one where if it's more so this position particularly off kickoffs which this one was where we go back and we're faced with a decision after we grab this corner boost here so we grab the cor boost do we want to either go to the net or challenge all right we want to do one of those two things um now if we turn in challenge we can turn in fake challenge you have to be very careful that the thing that dictates what we do here is the position our opponent is in obviously like always if the ball is bouncing in front of them you can't challenge because the amount of angle they can generate in terms of height on this ball is really easy it's very easy for them to generate height all right judging from your opponent's angle you can see this a little bit better they grab the mid boost the ball is bouncing in front of them and they see you Challenge from you know 1950 you know it takes a it's so it's so easy for them to see you know it takes you about two years to get there because it always does in this position you you have to boost turn and then go it's a lot if they are carrying the ball on top of their car or about to catch the ball on top of their car you can turn and challenge it doesn't mean you're not going to get outplayed but it it basically means you could challenge him uh if you wanted to and you could get a dunk on them you could get a good 50 if you turn a challenge in that position when the ball is bouncing in front of them you're basically never going to get the ball off your opponent without conceding um so so don't do do it okay that's just a pattern that happens to Turning 1 V one now the only situation or I'll show it one more time the only situation where we can turn and challenge is if your opponent takes a little bit too much time and they turn um it wouldn't happen in this position it's too close to the wall but uh if it was more out here sometimes they turn a little bit to create an angle on their approach and then you can quickly turn and cut that space down whilst they've created that angle because there is no chance they can hit the ball around you basically for a small time period but this isn't happening here they're facing perfectly forward don't challenge in positions like that the reason I spoke about it so much is because it's a massive pattern in One V one and happens time and time again so we get caught in between two decisions there off of that kickoff off of this position we want to either make a touch back or just drive straight back using boost and cover the shot which typically from this position is never going to be that threatening with our opponent clearly going to be on low boost so we don't have to worry too much you want to do one of those two things okay we get caught in between both of those two decisions and we do both of them at the same time or think about both of them at the same time and then we give up an open net basically your opponent luckily for us doesn't hit the open net and it's not the end of the world uh but just be careful of that in the future a good play from your opponent almost uh but we do get away with it we're not going to speak about that too much a little bit of a mistake by getting too close than when they were on the wall but not the end of the world um you're very fluid and and his this players flips they're very they're very clean they're very confident I would say with hitting the ball um and they're just very solid with their mechanics and and have good movement overall okay uh they're very quick sometimes too quick all right and this is one of those uh circumstances where we're too fast here we're trying to get a touch over and we rush it a little bit and this is going to happen time and time again in this replay okay we're just taking um not enough time and we're we're being too fast we being too panicky okay now is this because our opponent is SSL you know level we know that they're higher level than us perhaps you know we're trying to play up to their level a little bit too much or do we do it overall a little bit too much even in our own ranked games I would say driving from your play style you probably do it too much I've not seen any of your R ranked games but I definitely want you to tone down how fast you're going and not NE okay not still keep your speed and definitely keep your speed because I know that's one of your things you're working on but don't overdo certain things don't try and be too mechanical things like this stuff like this is unnecessary okay it's really unnecessary we don't even need fake jump here because it doesn't do anything look your opponent can see you okay they can see you you get them to drop the ball off their car but you're not getting them to flip anywhere necessarily so you're not doing enough a better thing that you should be doing here is trying to get behind your opponent um and so so they can't see you okay which this is fine this is fine wait for them to turn in Midfield and try and close that space down over time don't do these you know fake jumps um sometimes you can sometimes they'll pay off but you have to be getting behind your opponent's uh ball you know on top of their car so you can hide behind the ball and then a fake jump would work a fake only works if your opponent can't see you on the challenges basically um when you're backwards like that okay so just keep that in mind so challenges like this you can never do on the wall um it it's very susceptible to a drive challenge as you probably just learned from that live um when you played this replay as soon as you get demoed there yeah you can never do that um it's just too easy to drive Challenge from your opponent's point of view so again just just trying to do a little bit too much all right we're we're fake jumping I I don't know if we're trying to dodge the demo to me it wouldn't make sense for us to jump so early if we're trying and Dodge the demo because there is no threat straight away when we jump you know our opponent is technically still falling and we definitely see this okay when we jump here uh they just hit the ground but they're not near us so you actually make yourself vulnerable to the demo because you jump so early because they could hit you when you land so um I think we're trying to wave Dash catch the ball or fake it but you've got to think about and I know I'm spending a long time on this but it's a really big thing because you you faked a few times now you've got to think about what you're actually actually faking you know what are we faking here what is your what is your opponent scared of that you're faken the touch to the wall you know there's no threatening chance that you can create by from the thing that you're trying to fake is what I'm is what I'm saying so there's nothing they have to be concerned about your opponent is playing smart your opponent is playing very smart One V one a great kind of game with challenges and drive challenges a great game with securing all this boost they do a great job of it every time apart from this um this time where you do miss the Boost um so a little bit of a mistake from us there but not the end of the world but they're playing very smart in terms of your level compared to other players at your rank you are more mechanical compared to your opponent compared to players at their rank is what I'm trying to say so your your respective mechanical level for the ranks you're both at I would say you're more mechanical you look a little bit smoother um compared to a lot of champ 3s out there then your opponent looks compared to ssls out there so he's winning he is more mechanical than you still um but you you have the mechanical advantage in terms of what you can progress into what type of play you can progress into here from now on so your mechanics are great okay your mechanics are very fluid all right in terms of movement at least um you do make a few mechanical erors on the ball which we'll talk about later but it's not the end of the world but you're very fluid you're very comfortable you can see this every time that we kind of move around the pitch you can just see this but you're you're you're making the wrong decisions a lot of time um and this is because you're getting it's getting exposed by a higher level player because a higher level player would understand what is threatening and what isn't okay your opponent knows that this dunk attempt or 50 attempt by you again is on the wall you do a lot of these types of challenges on the wall it's is never threatening your opponent knows that you see that little wiggle that your opponent does this is really high level stuff by the way but we're playing an SL so I'm I'm talking about a lot of this you you see that little wiggle to the left okay your opponent just turned to the left here and then he goes back to the right once he sees the ball get past you he's turned to the left because he's not concerned about the 50 because he knows that he's going to be quicker than you to get back so he doesn't mind if he gets 50 to his Corner he's going to keep on he's going to keep possession all right these are things that you know your opponent May potentially be thinking about it may be subconscious at this point he may be doing it automatically okay but a lot of high level one one players that's the point they get to they're not concerned they're constantly thinking about what is truly dangerous what is truly threatening what is actually going to happen if they fall for a fake or if they let you fake them it doesn't mean a lot in certain certain scenarios and sometimes with we think it means more than it does okay um so just be careful with a lot of the war challenges you're going for and fakes you're going for so this is a great chance this is another thing that happens time and time again a recurring situation in One V one where we win the ball to the side wall with a kickoff we grab this mid boost and our opponent either waits for us to touch it ball down okay or they go for their Corner boost okay so if they go for their Corner boost we're going to see them boosting into their Corner potentially flipping usually flip into their corner and we see them leave in the play that indicates that we have time okay if we see them not boosting not flipping it usually means that they're thinking about staying all right now a lot of the time at very high level we're talking top 100 One V one you know the opponent could slow down and then speed up to try and get you to think they're doing one thing and then they're doing another but your opponent is just slowing down here all right so you take a soft touch this is completely fine and you you back off slightly because you've seen that they slow down that is fine however I think a really good play for you to do is you get this soft touch you know you're trying to slow the ball down it's not too soft but you're setting up a shot it's soft enough that you could set up the shot if your opponent went for the corner boost great as soon as you see them not go for that corner boost as soon as you see them complete slow down forget about the ball you should already be doing now just forget about the ball go for that corner boost okay you do it eventually it's just slightly delayed and just that slight delay gives your opponent a little bit of time to get into position again okay so if you're a bit quick quicker on this decision you would actually just have maybe not open net but a very very awkward opponent and an extremely good chance to score even though you didn't do it quickly you still made a great decision of doing it in the end so I want to kind of note that as a positive really good decision on going for this corner boost um this this shot isn't on target so it's not threaten enough but you do still make your opponent awkward I wouldn't go for the ball in on you know in this second time though just wait for your opponent who is backwards who is awwards to give the ball away okay just wait for that because you're playing for you're playing to beat your opponent which they are closer to the ball you're never going to beat them here so the only other thing that you're playing for is the Miss okay if your opponent misses this ball we score the goal however if you back off and your opponent misses the ball you can then still turn and score the goal so you're not really gaining any type of Advantage by going so just think about that a little bit in the future be a bit more patient on our second kind of shot selection in in offense in terms of this first shot I would probably if you can get this on target fantastic I would personally probably just take a first touch because if you do this type of shot in EX in the exact way you've shot this ball and your opponent challenges you which they could be you don't see them you will get hard dunked okay so you have to be careful of this hard dunk in this position if your opponent is just facing forward instead of turning back in this position so if they make the touch you steal their boost if they turn here which you really can't see from your angle you'll get hard dunked okay so be careful of that you want to take a little bit of time in those positions take a first touch be ready for the low 50 in case you see your or hear your opponent in the last second challenging you take that low 50 you have the Boost Advantage you'll probably score off it just take a little bit more time with the offense that we have like here which is great you know we get the ball on top of our car we don't panic straight away we do flick it a little bit early cuz we uh we probably think that we're getting challenged judging from the timing that we flick this ball or try to but we still take time we over a roll on that flick so we give up possession and this is one of the points that you're talking about you're not um you're not making your chances threatening enough okay this is a really threatening chance so so we do a good job of taking it Midfield creating an angle on the ball after we see the opponent backing off and we do a nice shot okay so this shot we do scuff a little bit we actually just hit this ball with a single jump our flip actually doesn't make any type of uh difference on the ball here if you slow this down you'll see this a little bit better in terms of what I mean that's the shot okay and then we flip the flip doesn't do anything so we're slightly delayed on uh flipping through the ball we don't qu quite flip quick enough okay bit of a tongue twist there we don't quite flip quick enough um so that's going to happen it's not going to happen exactly again really nice kickoff by the way great kickoff it's not going to happen exactly again in this replay but something similar is going to happen that we're going to talk about in terms of your power shots and your power hits that's going to be a mistake and we'll talk about what you can do to improve them um another great kickoff we make the wrong decision in offense again this is uh the clearly the biggest floor in your game right now is making the wrong decision on our tit of shots or how we're shooting the ball on offense so we're definitely going to want to highlight that at the end of this video and talk about what we can do to improve that in positions like this just take a power hit just take a power shot all right just shoot the ball just shoot the ball anytime that you have a really nice kind of ball that is dropping get a nice speed the opponent can't challenges um because they just grabed the corner they could challenge us now but because you've jumped they hesitate so this is great you've jumped just make contact with the ball a bit earlier use the 15 boost you have to close the gap down and make contact with it whilst it was maybe at this height and you have a really nice shot up to here even up to here I know it's easy for me to say just shoot the ball to the top corner but those are easy shots to get good at and especially with your level of movement how fluid you look moving around the pitch you can 100% get good at shots like that okay so we make the decision we shoot far post by the way really quickly on a side note any anyone this is a massive tip that can help anyone watching this video um mainly from like champ and above actually I say that it's not everyone watching this video but mainly from a champ and above but you can start to think about lower ranks as well in positions like this when you're shooting the ball unless you know 100% that you're going to score the shot far post be careful of it don't shoot the wall far post because it makes it extremely easy for your a PR to Counterattack because you typically land near Post in in shots like that and your opponent lands in their corner with momentum from flipping into the ball and boost control a lot of the time and they can just score and open that all right so I just wanted to point that out we make a little bit of a slow decision on going for this corner boost but we still get there in time that's fine and we turn a little bit too sharply into this ball okay so I am going to talk about this really quickly because it is important uh to note a lot of the time one one when when we're turning from a corner boost or a mid boost and we want to challenge you want to take a little bit of a wider angle around the Boost okay so if we're looking at this from above uh we'll go here will turn name plates off you want to take a little bit of an angle kind of like if you can go wide into the Boost like that fantastic but sometimes you don't have the time sometimes your opponent here they might be here instead you don't have the time to do that but you have to take a more wide Loop towards your near post before you challenge okay what you do instead is we'll watch it uh I'll have to go to this angle again fly can what you do instead is take a very sharp turn you see this W see if I mess up the angle you see this here you take a very sharp turn like this okay and that leads to a really bad challenge where we're not covering anything at all you'll see what I mean from your opponent perspective a little bit better see how from their angle you're like there's actually just no Defender almost you know no one's even coming from the angle from the net okay my point is when you're challenging the ball you always want to be coming from goal side or not always but most of the time you want to be coming from goal side what we mean by that is the middle of your goal or as close to it as we can be okay so as soon as you see this just go for the corner boost so we don't we make the decision to play off pads um but yeah as soon as the ball goes in the air there is actually nothing we should be waiting for so just flip back to your corner boost you say oh what if he takes time lets the ball drop catches it and stays on the ground then I'm there to challenge him right you know well well great but the he has to wait for the ball to drop in that time period that the ball is dropping you would have time to go for the corn boost and then turn and then get close before before it even drops so the point is as soon as the ball bounces up into the air off of kickoffs like that always Corner boost always Corner boost okay we do another type of this challenge um this is I think is the second one or the third one of this game where we wave Dash onto the wall or we're just challenging near the wall on low boost be very careful of it okay you'll get a massive reality check very quickly once you do this against high level opponents like this guy here because from a high level opponent's kind of mind there is nothing to be afraid of so they can just drive challenge you or just straight flip into the ball and Crush you on the 50 it's a difficult Bard to save okay so obviously we want to be double jumping hitting the ball upwards and landing on our backboard that's a high level thing to do consistently every single time and and have confidence in it it's also a high level thing to do when you're on the turn which we are here we're kind of on the turn here so we need to do it now it's hard to time okay so um you can think about getting you know some training packs and trying that out uh you can create the training packs yourself very easily super easy to do uh really nice kickoff by the way but yeah on that last goal it's a good attempt it's not the end of the world um it was just a good flick from our opponent nice kickoff perfect and then yeah another nice kickoff you can tell by the flips your flips are really really clean solid so solid movement um but your your shots are really bad and and I hope you don't mind me saying it cuz it's an easy thing to improve it's going to be uh one of the main things you can improve this is a great thing okay you're a really really good player okay moving around the pitch you get great chances you create great chances from your kickoffs uh just in general you find yourself having really nice CH uh chances from the sides of the pitch like this uh you've had a couple chances from the other side positions like here so the only thing we need to get better at is generating good types of shots good types of power on our hits okay in this instance we don't generate enough angle from the ball okay from our car sorry from our car so when you shoot the ball like this we want to be either air rolling if we have time to get behind the ball and air rolling underneath it okay kind of like this I'll show this very quickly if you have time underneath the ball you can air roll behind it and underneath it and hit the wall like that okay that's going to generate a lot of power on your hits uh if I can show what I mean um try and set this up so it's it's good kind like this if the ball is dropping you have time underneath it behind the ball you can get behind it get underneath it and use that Arrow to generate the power when the ball is in front of us for example bounce dribbles that gets really tough to do and we typically don't have much time to boost and then jump and then flip because we're very close to the ball we don't have that time we don't have that space to move into so a better type of hit that we're going to use or a better type of flip is simply a side flip okay so on the end of our bounce dribbles we want to side flip like that that's going to create way more power now what you're doing wrong is you're diagonal flipping so I'll just show what this looks like when we hit the ball we want to have our car touching the ball for the least amount of time that's going to generate the most amount of power okay um it's going to create a very Snappy shot all right that's what we want this is not what we want where we're kind of like dragging our car over the ball or through the ball and we're hitting it it feels like we're hitting it for longer you'll know what I mean when you try this um with a side flip you're hitting it for a shorter amount of time you're very it's very Snappy all right and we'll see this again in this replay last one we'll show we'll go go back into the end of this um end this replay uh yeah that's very Snappy okay that's what we want so one of the main things I want you to work on is Bounce dribbles around the pitch like this keeping the ball at a nice angle maybe turning different ways so we can always decide what we want to do bounce dribble at the end and then as we get to the end of our uh of our dribble we want to just shoot okay with a side flip most of the time and work on different types of uh you know different angles different types of shots and you'll see that's I didn't mean to do it but this is a good one show if you mess up like I did here you'll understand why you mess up if you look for it and you'll see that I turn into the ball too much here okay and I take too long to flip all right so I'm making contact with the front of my car on that shot there instead of the front corner all right very different thing so if you notice that next time I shoot like that I'm going to stay more to the left side of the ball rather than cutting in as much and I'm going to be a little bit quicker with flipping so we make contact with the corner of our car and not the front Okay that's going to generate a way better shot okay so we obviously diagonal flip through the ball and now that we've spoken about that um you can see a little bit better with what I mean and we're we're dragging the ball a little bit we're staying underneath it too long uh we're not side flipping and therefore we're not going to get that shot now because the ball is heading towards the net you have to be very precise with your flip here because there's not as much angle automatically from the ball so you want to delay your flip underneath the ball slightly on on shots like this with the side flip and that's going to get on target uh I'm not going to speak about that too much because you'll you'll learn over time how to do that in certain situations and when so it basically so I won't speak about it too much a great decision a great um great awareness of understanding that your opponent is going to take this wall back and we turn with him instead of going back to net now a better challenge here would be a drive challenge 100% uh you'll demo your opponent in this position if you drive challenge them and you'll just have an open net and a free ball to to score that open net with so um that would be way better there but coming to the end of this replay it's going to be borderline impossible to get anything worth a goal at this point um and yeah we are going to lose in the last 5 Seconds 36 but basically 35 you know we gave up a goal at the end there but it's basically 35 for uh most of this replay I guess or kind of 24 25 so it's kind of close Okay that's what I'm trying to say you do a great job okay you do a great job now the thing the main thing I want you to focus on is definitely those bounce dribbles those power shots cuz we want you to have a go-to in offense we want you to have something that you rely on okay an attacking move that you're going to rely on most times okay a lot of players choose flicks like me I chose flicks but some players prefer bounce dribbles and bounce shots uh kind of like OED back in the day um a great player to learn how to kind of Bounce dribble and when to shoot and when to low 50 and stuff like that and that's why it's so effective by the way because you can turn it into a low 50 you can turn it into a shot and things like that um but you definitely want to improve on that regardless of whether you kind of pick it as your main kind of thing that you're going to work on you want to improve on it anyway um and yeah one of the main things really simple is just balance dribbling over and over again in free play and hitting a good shot at the end of it doing it over and over again it's just going to be reps with that now the other things that I want you to kind of focus on um first off you've got great kickoffs um and you've got great movement keep on improving those things naturally keep on using those things they're absolutely fantastic I want you to be very careful with overdoing it and trying to do too much now naturally if you focus on the bounce dribbles if you focus on picking one thing that you're going to get good at in offense and using it over and over again that's going to eliminate that kind of factor so don't worry about it too much it's going to naturally fix itself but definitely just be aware of it slightly um especially in defense with fake challenges and fake jumps and stuff like that that we were doing that is just a little bit too much um and also be very careful with 50 near the wall cuz that happened three times um but yeah this replay was good okay now I hope that the mistakes in this replay were similar to the mistakes you're making in your other games unfortunately I don't know that uh but hopefully maybe you can tell me a little bit about it um because yeah they might not be okay but this is a higher level opponent you did a good job of it um hope hopefully you guys have learned something from this higher level opponent what it looks like to be playing
