Shorts From Your Script
Paste a long-form script and get back the three segments that stand alone as Shorts. Each one comes with the first line to say on camera, a caption you can paste under it, and a rough on-screen length. You pick what to cut.

What you get
Three clip moments
Self-contained segments pulled from your script, each with a rough length so you know what fits before you cut anything.
A hook line and a caption
The first line to say on camera, plus a caption you can paste straight under the Short, both taken from your own wording.
Why each one stands alone
One sentence on what makes the segment work without the rest of the video, so you can judge the pick yourself.
What makes a segment stand alone
Three things have to be true at once, and each of the three cards above is worth checking against the moment you were handed.
Opens with a claim
The first line states something the viewer can agree with or push back on straight away, instead of warming up to the point.
Resolves inside a minute
The segment answers its own question before it ends, so the clip never trails off into the next section of the video.
Needs no context
Nothing in it depends on a name, number or setup from earlier in the script, so a viewer who starts here still understands it.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long should a YouTube Short be?
The segment has to land inside the time a viewer gives it. This tool targets 20 to 60 seconds at 150 words per minute: long enough for a claim and its payoff, short enough that the point arrives before the clip ends. We do not claim any particular length performs better.
Can I use the same footage for the Short and the long video?
Yes. Trimming a segment out of the long edit and re-cropping it vertical is normal practice and a purely technical step. Whether it is the best use of the footage is a production call; this tool only points at the parts of the script that stand alone.
Do Shorts help the long video?
YouTube treats Shorts and long-form as separate surfaces, so we make no claim that a Short lifts views, retention or subscribers on the long video. Judge the Short on its own numbers once it is published.
Is my script stored?
The result is saved under an id so you can reopen this page and get the same three moments back. The script you paste is sent to the model to produce that result and is not published anywhere. We use your email to count your daily limit and add you to our newsletter; one click to unsubscribe.
Why exactly three?
Three is a deliberate cap. You only need a couple of clips from one recording, and a short pickable list is faster to act on than ten ranked candidates. If your script only supports two genuine stand-alone segments, use those two rather than stretching a weak one.
