20,000 views Vs 2,000,000 How Much YouTube Paid Me transcript

this one has $13,000 views and it made $690 $2400 $26,000 I have two videos that are almost at 2 million views and yet one of them has earned over $10,000 more than the other video I was just checking out my stats recently and I realized this huge discrepancy so I wanted to share how much YouTube videos actually make starting with some smaller ones all the way up to my top Pain video ever which is like half of what I used to make in a year for one video which is absolutely insane but let's go into it I think something that a lot of people don't know is that YouTube pays you a different amount depending on um who's watching your videos and also how much you make can go up and down an incredible amount so let's just look for for instance in the last 28 days I've made $5,500 from AdSense on YouTube this doesn't include sponsors or different Affiliates or other ways that I make money this is just AdSense but if we look back in June I made 13,000 and for quite a while I was making you know 10 to 15,000 per month pretty consistently but I think this really goes to show why you do not want to have AdSense be the main way you make money on YouTube if that is your main strategy it's going to be very very hard to make consistent income as you saw mine has dropped down in a third as to what it was like a couple months ago um and it just goes up and down all the time in the summer it's generally slower in the winter it's definitely going to go up again um that's just kind of how it works but also how much you get paid per video really really changes depending on the style of video you make so I wanted to show you a couple examples we'll start with some lesser paining videos we have this one here that has about 20,000 views and it has made about $200 now I pay about $250 per edit so I lost money on this video and that's what happens with a lot of YouTube videos you either like if you're just working on AdSense you either like break even or you might make a little bit of money but you're not going to get rich doing that and also have like other expenses so I lost money on this video that is if it didn't have a sponsor which is why I have sponsors in most of my videos but then let's go up to a 100,000 view videos this one has 103,000 views and it made $690 and what I made which is my RPM is $693 and that's going to come in key um later on because what you talk about really really depends on how much money you're going to make so like you know I have this $6 one here when I talk about things like saving money minimalism that type of stuff it's generally going to be in that 6 8 range if I talk about investing investing accounts um how to start a business that type of stuff it's going to be um probably about double what this is so that's another reason why how much I make shifts around a lot it depends on on what I actually talk about let's see if I can find an example for that this one here got 164,000 views which is pretty good overall but I was talking about money and for whatever reason this one paid more this one paid $11 so almost double what that other one is um and because of that it made uh $1900 off of of this singular video which is really really cool and then there's sponsors and affiliate links on top of that so that's where you can see you can start making some decent money on YouTube but again it depends so so much on what you make so I thought we' just do 250k 500k a million and then we'll go to 2 million and see how much we make from every stage of the videos and I'm just scrolling through picking whatever the last ones were I didn't like cherry pick this ahead of time so this one here has 254,000 views and it made $2400 uh which is not too dissimilar from the last one and had a $960 um RPM so overall that's like 1% of views um more or less is that right 1% yeah I think so um interesting now this one here is a little over 500,000 it was the closest one I could find it also brought me 6,800 subscribers so that's really where a lot of growth happens with YouTube as well it's going to be singular videos that carry most of the profit and most of the subscribers um all the other ones just kind of like tread water and then you have like one out of five or one out of 10 that really like carry you forward and bring you into progress so um this one made pretty close to $4,000 um at a almost $7 RPM so we're going in the wrong direction here unfortunately but still $4,000 for that video uh it's not too bad next up we're going to show two at a million cuz this also shows the difference so this one at $951,000 views brought in 15,000 subscribers um but only 4,000 $800 which is unfortunate but that's because we're at a $5 RPM and the reason why is because it the title of this is why looking poor is important and not many people want to advertise on a video talking about saving money frugal living and not spending money right but people do want us advertise on um business owners on personal development people people who are interested in finance people who are willing to invest into themselves that's where um companies throw a lot of money around so if my main goal was to make money I probably wouldn't try to talk about some of these things about frugal living and stuff like that if my main goal was to to make money with adset you see this did um similar numbers as the one with half the amount of views let's see if we can find another million one here this one here just crossed a million views and this one made $8,300 U from this video at a almost 8 RPM um so a little bit better still not great I did make about another $7 to $10,000 in affiliates I haven't actually tracked that too much from this um this is my top affiliate video ever just because it's Amazon products for clutter free home so this was uh really profitable video as well and it brought in 12,000 subscribers which is pretty good and then this one here where I actually talked about money has almost a million views brought in 12,000 subscribers but made $11,700 which is absolutely crazy that had an 1180 RPM um so that's how much you make for 1,000 views and that is double what some of the other ones are pretty close to it so that's why this one is is way more profitable than some of the other ones even though the video length might be the same the the ideas might be the same some of the audience might even be the same but when you're talking about money um and stuff like that you're going to make a lot more money and I do have some friends who talk about credit cards or bank accounts stuff like that um and they'll make five times what this is like some of them make insane money all right next up we have my second highest pain uh video ever it has 1.9 million views my goodness that's a lot of watch time and 53,000 subscribers from this one video that carries my channel that was done you know kind of recently last year sometime and that has made $113,000 so actually not a ton different than the one that had 900,000 views less um and that is because I was talking about minimalist rules which is generally not saving money so you know 6.9 uh RPM I don't know I'm curious of what you guys think do you think that .9 million views and $133,000 kind of equals out and before we get to the top video however I think it's important to show that not all my videos are making this much money there's tons that just barely break even like you see um hopefully on screen right now there's a bunch that you know might make a little bit of money but if AdSense is your main way it this would be a very bad way to make money so all right let's go to the the top video ever which is how to save 10K fast even though this is saving money they did pay me more for this 1.9 million views $ 331,000 subscribers and it made $26,000 at a $13 RPM quite quite nice I'm glad that my top video ever happened to get a higher one um so that's really cool so hopefully this enlightens you a
