[Music] my dream is to help spread Joy optimism and inspiration to millions of people one year just before Thanksgiving Taran and I wanted to go out and spread some Joy so we made our own little cards and went and put them out on all kinds of places in Vancouver and Portland just to have someone stumble upon them and have a happy thought dropped into their day and then I got to thinking about how much fun it was but we only put 75 cards out and it seemed like that's not very many people you know 75 we we could reach more if we did something bigger so after some thought I um thought well you know those billboards I thought billboard is a better way to go that is Lucy morning Lucy good morning Candy how are you I love those shoes thank you to put up Billboards takes quite a bit of money and if you're a nonprofit organization you can get nonprofit pricing so we thought well what the heck let's let's start a nonprofit corporation so we can spread some positive message messages what we think what we see affects us that's why advertising works that's why Billboards work and it works because you hear it or you see it over and over again surrounding yourself with as many positive thoughts uh and people as you can I think is a really good thing to do look at that is that fabulous but I think The Joy team began that day that Taran and I went out and put little notes out for people to find so she started the organization with me and then the real Joy team was born we've put up 54 billboards with positive messages we've given away about 2,000 happy packets to people in our community and about 3, 3200 Joy wrapped jars of peanut butter for Hungry kids one of the fastest ways to do this is at Junior Joy team meetings we're doing some brainstorming to find out what the kids would like to do who they would like to think what the junior Joy team really wants to do is we want to go to Washington DC and we want to give the president a happy packet in person that's what we really want to do I really think that if we give him a happy packet he'll get some joy joy I think is being happy where you are it's it's feeling content and still being able to grow [Music]
