introducing the November live happy activist of the month hi I'm Marilyn Moss from Lutz Florida November is all about kindness do you know that sharing a happy act of kindness every single day can change your life and the lives of others talk about your first experience with the live happy happiness walls well my first happy act wall was in March 18 2017 in Largo Florida at a beautiful park with sandy ghosts and friends it was so awesome I was so excited I remember it like it was yesterday I was excited when we carried the wall in and set it up we had balloons we had hats we had bracelets with happy bracelets we had crazy-looking glasses we had eliminate four little table and we just shared happy acts of kindness I just remember feeling so cool watching people adults kids all kinds filling out their happy act of kindness cards and put them on our walls and I remember packing up thinking this was so awesome coming to do this again Marilyn how many walls and years have you hosted I've hosted 101 walls in three years in the elementary and middle schools I've hosted at job corps of America at summer camps at Veterans homes I can't tell you what it's done for me and for all the places that I've hosted at the life-changing events that has done I'm so grateful for a live happy what are some of the responses that you get when people discover the walls and your mission did you see all that streaky's no I'm just kidding but I get many thank yous and just thank yous and people that are positive about what I'm doing you know they say oh my gosh this world needs more happiness say yes it does and I know what you can do contact with happy because we have happy acts that are awesome you know when you share happy acts of kindness what's gonna happen happiness describe the feeling you get when you host a live happy happiness wall I'm so overwhelmed with joy in my heart I can't tell you what a life-changing experience has been for me just going to all these different locations and sharing happy acts of kindness sharing tools on how to be happy I would have been so grateful as a child if somebody would have came to my school and shared tools with me you know there are tools to being happy and sharing happy acts of kindness being positive being grateful having empathy those are just a few of those requirements that's needed to be happy we know that happiness comes before success so it's transformed my life I use the tools every single day but I'm sharing with anybody that I can share with it's really the ripple of that you see when posting a happiness wall I always get positive feedback it changes people's attitude when they come in and see the happy act wall teachers employees students parents they just start smiling and go is this what is this all about and of course I love explaining what it's all about you know I say what happens when somebody smiles at you and they say they smile back and I said that's exactly what it is it's a ripple effect you know when we share it it comes back to us it's a reward it goes around and around you know I have a high school student that called me and is excited because she's gonna host a happiness wall in 2020 I met her two years ago at the middle school and I remember like it was yesterday when I handed her a bracelet and she was so excited I didn't know at the time that she would host a wall but if you just keep planting the seeds the ripple effect just have what standout moments do you remember in your experiences as a wall host well I have many of them three of my favorites are the first time I visited this particular middle school I had a young lady come up to me and said I don't like being happy I don't want to be happy and I'm not listening and I said okay you don't have to so she said as far away she could from all of the fun and activity that we were doing by the time that we got them filling out all the happy accident kindness putting them on the wall and taking pictures I was tearing down the mai-mai wall and she come up to me and very quietly she said you know I just really do want to learn how to be happy and I said I can show you how to do that and I handed her a bracelet and happy active kindness card she filled it out and I actually gave her a packet with more information on how to be happy and I told her I said it guaranteed any help please let me know and then my second moment was when I visited a middle school for the third time and I was carrying my wallet and my supplies and when I got inside I had three students come up to me and they were been like oh we've gotta breathe sometime we remembered to wear our bracelets we knew you were coming thank you so much for coming it just really warmed my heart because I knew then yes I am doing the right thing I am planting seeds and one of those students is actually hosting a wall this year she's in high school in 2020 so again I knew I was doing the right thing and then my third moment was just recently I presented at Job Corps of America and the teacher there it was my very first visit at Job Corps and the teacher went to her supervisor and said we need her in our curriculum so those are my three favorite moments and there are many more it just keeps happening what do you have planned for International Day of happiness 2020 well I'm going to host two walls I host in the morning at a particular elementary school that's asked me to come back and be there on national day of happiness and in the afternoon I posted a particular middle school that wants me back on that day so I'm excited because we're gonna have a lot of balloons and hats and a lot of fun because that is the International Day of happiness so remember happiness is a choice
