Why You Need To Start A Youtube Channel ASAP transcript

I've been on YouTube for six years now and I feel like now is the best time to start a channel if you've been thinking about it like the best time that I have ever seen and there's a couple reasons that I want to kind of get into and the first one is just that they changed the [Music] algorithm this is something that I've seen over the past year or so is that when you go to like to your homepage it's so easy now to see small creators I see videos of people with under a th000 subscribers on a daily basis and that's because they kind of changed um their algorithm to more of this tiktock ification uh that has kind of kind of moved over to YouTube where it's easier now than I believe it's ever been maybe since the beginning of YouTube to be discovered as a small brand new Creator the first video um you know under a thousand subscribers under 10,000 subscribers it is so easy now to be discovered simply by understanding how this algorithm kind of works and just playing along with it so I think if you are someone who has a story that they want to tell maybe you've kind of always been creative and you're like you know I want to share this story that's inside of me it's awfully bright or you're looking at it as a way to make money if you can kind of play this game now is a great time to start and the cool thing is like you don't have to be super professional in fact I've really been seeing a trend of this authenticity and like simple film making that is really taking YouTube kind of by storm and letting a lot of creators who maybe didn't have an experience um you know they they weren't photographers to start or they they don't really know the whole YouTube game to actually see success before understanding all like the the keywords and the thumbnail and how you're supposed to design stuff to get people to look at the center of the screen like even without all that you can still be successful on YouTube which is something that I think is is so new or at least it's new since I've been paying attention to YouTube over the past like again sixish years by the way I'm about to launch my last cohort uh for the 5our YouTuber how I run my channels on 5 hours a week how to be profitable with the small channel um how to actually you know know grow and succeed from someone who's done it it's probably the last one I'll do maybe ever but for a while at least so people were following the Mr Beast the tiktock ification of things where they're just making things more and more edited more and more um aggressive and in your face and fats cuts and everything has to be extreme and the thumbnails are like and it's like all that type of stuff and people want real people now whether it's storytelling the Vlogs they want a a vlog of somebody chasing their dreams who hasn't made it yet um they want you to tell your story of how you're struggling with something because they're struggling too and they've seen so much of this this glamour this fake stuff that I think a lot of people are sick of that and that's showing up in a lot of realistic creators that are really um popping off right now some of them have great cinematography but even people like Sam suuk where it's not um anything amazing in it's editing or anything but it's a real person going through stuff and relating to people um and yes maybe not doing average things but there's tons of smaller creators who are having their lives change through YouTube Simply by talking about things that they are interested in and kind of playing the game a little bit but also not having to have you know crazy editing or being super flashy just being real authentic people talking about real problems that they have and real struggles that they are facing and how they're overcoming them and that was even a big shift that I saw on my main Channel where I saw a ton of growth it was when I stopped saying this is how to do this this is how to save money this is how to um you know make more money this is how to start YouTube and instead I shifted to my own personal experiences where every point that I have is generally like I screwed up doing this and here's what I learned from that and you can take from that what you will and when I shifted to this this idea of looking at what I had to say and experimenting with things in my own life and then sharing the results of those experiences with people that's when I saw a lot of growth on my channel because because it connects with people as they see someone struggling they see someone trying to push through and they're able to follow along um with that story and relate to it a lot better and that's a lot easier for me actually there's even been this trend of Simply picking up your camera and like going for a walk and that is your entire Channel and I've seen multiple people blow up and go fulltime on YouTube Simply with with very little script it seems like talking for 10 minutes straight off the top of their head going for a walk very few edits very few Boll the thumbnail is just a screenshot of them that looks like really realistic and that is an entire Style on YouTube so if you're not sure what to do and you just have these thoughts you can start that way and yes you still need to understand some copy of like what's a good thumbnail to get people to actually click on it if it's just a screenshot of you yes you do have to understand some of that stuff and that comes with trial and error but you don't have to have the the most produced thing in order to get started anymore and for a while it was getting to the point where it's like every video is just getting more and more and more produced and you just couldn't do anything basic and now there's kind of this like Back to Basics moves on um on YouTube that's been really cool also think uh another thing that's been cool is just the ability to make money on YouTube like it seemed like it was hard to make money um on YouTube for a really long time and now there's been so many revenue streams or maybe it's just I've been paying attention to it more that these smaller creators um I know a bunch of them I'm friends with a bunch of them where it's under 10,000 subscribers even or under 50,000 subscribers and they're able to make a full-time income from that because they're finding their people and if you can find a very targeted group of people who are into the same stuff as you you can create a product for them or find products to be an affiliate for uh or find sponsors who are willing to pay more money than they should because it's such a targeted audience that you can make decent money on YouTube even with a very small Channel and I've talked about that I think I did a video on that of like how I made I think it's over $5,000 now on a brand new Channel with 84 subscribers and that's simply by being super targeted and kind of looking for holes in the market and trying to make money and treating it like a business and I think again that's one of the cool parts of YouTube is you can treat it like a business if you want you can treat it like something that's just therapy for you A lot of times when I talk to a camera it's kind of therapeutic for me cuz I get to talk about the things that I'm interested in and share that with other people who are interested in them and that's another you know thing that I love about YouTube and if ever you've been thinking about starting it's become so normal now that like whether you're 20 or 60 you probably have something to share and if um you know you stand behind that and you post on YouTube about it it's not really as I don't want to say cringy but like something like that as it used to be it used to be like you're the weird person um because you're doing that and now it's become like a legitimate career choice it's a like a thing that people do and it can be an amazing creative Outlet you can find people to connect with there's just so many reasons why I think like you know if you're thinking about starting YouTube it's a really good time the algorithm wants you to succeed they want these smaller creators um they're serving them up more and more it's this I forget what it's called it's like attention based algorithm where it's giving videos off a certain topic um for each individual person instead of the largest Creator it's the one that matches what they think you're going to watch most and whether that's from somebody with 100 subs or someone from 100,000 they're going to serve you what's going to be best for you so YouTube wants you to succeed there's tons of you know way to make money with whatever size Channel you can find a group of people that you can connect with and then it's just fun to do it's just fun and like this right here I just thought about making this 20 minutes ago turn on the camera I don't know if there's a good video or not but I don't really care cuz I I'm passionate about it and if it gets views it gets views if not
