I just figured out how ALL ROBLOX games make their MAPS... transcript

I'm getting sick of people building bad in Roblox and I don't want to see it anymore. Like for example, the retro slop is getting kind of out of hand. But if you're the type of person that likes the blocky style, then um uh uh I take it everything back and uh you're amazing and maybe you should consider subscribing to me. No, but seriously, the retro / blocky look has actually kind of grown on me and I like it. It gives me nostalgia.

I started Roblox in like 2012, so I am full unc with like white hair. You know what? Can I get back to the point of the video? I don't know why I started the video with some tangent. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Actually, no, I can tie this in with the main point of the video. Roblox builds a long ago were so blocky, but nowadays we don't have to do that. We can go full-on realism. Have you guys ever went on YouTube and searched something like how to make your Roblox games look good?

How to make it realistic? And you see those videos where basically all they say is to just make the sun ray settings higher and boom, it's realistic. Like, huh? What? >> [laughter] >> What? Like guys, I don't I don't know if you understand, but that advice just frustrates me and makes me so annoyed because that is not the answer. You just don't boost up the sun rays and just magically it's realistic. No, it's not. That's like a big slap to the face to builders or or you actually don't care about anything that I'm yapping about.

And maybe you just want me to make like a a funny joke like 6767. Well, I'm deleting this video. I'm deleting it. I don't want any more. I don't want it. You know what? I'm just playing the video. Oh my god, I'm literally getting so crazy to the point of like my siblings just pushing their ear against my door trying to listen to what I'm saying and recording this video. Oh, to be a YouTuber, the kind of stuff I have to say alone in my room.

Can I please stop yapping? Let me Let me just get to the whole point of this video, which is basically how to get your assets and how to make your builds always look good. I kid you not, I figured out a secret. I figured out the secret and for some reason not a lot of people know this trick. So, let me go ahead and introduce you guys to a website, CGTrader. The site where you can get all of your assets, download them, and just put them in your Roblox games.

This website is actually really good. It was really good when I was like starting out with building. If you're like a beginner to intermediate builder in Roblox, you definitely are going to need this website. Like let me look up um a realistic uh uh uh uh uh mountain cuz I see that in the background and I'm really creative. And oh my god, wait wait a minute. There's literally Roblox ones here. I did not know that. This is Roblox realistic mountain versus tree pack.

They actually have actual Roblox stuff here for you. And that's interesting. Okay, wait. I did not know that. That's pretty good. So yeah, you just go to this website if you like can't 3D model or if you like you don't have time to do this. Scroll through here and try to find something really good. Ooh, this is actually really good. I would definitely use this for like the background for like a scenery. Oh my god, and they even have packs.

So easy. And you just download it done. And there's royalty-free license, so that means you can use it for your games. It's pretty good. That's pretty good. Instead of using the toolbox, which is filled with a load of junk, just use some external website like CGTrader to get your stuff. Okay, so how about I try that? Let me try to get my assets, my textures, and everything from an external website, not using the toolbox. Okay, you know what? That sounds like a plan. Okay, I can do that. And also, this video is not going to be as fun if I just don't do a build, so let me do a build doing that, too.

Okay. I'm trying to figure out like what I should make cuz there's a lot of options. There's so much. All right, let me just do full-out realistic kind of build cuz I think it's going to be pretty easy to do. So, let me just download over here. Oh, and the download came with FBX files. Okay, boom. I can just upload these directly into Roblox. So, home, import, and then just open up that file. Let it parse. Parsing, okay.

Boom, there you go. There's my trees. That was so fast. Okay, there you go. All right, I have my trees on. Let's get more assets now. All right, I got more assets from the CGTrader website. So, let's now go ahead and actually use these assets and make them look even nicer with an actual build. Now, this is the part of the video where I do a speed build and half of you guys might like these speed builds, half of you may don't.

I don't know. Tell me in the comments if you actually care for these speed builds or you just want to see the final product immediately cuz I don't know if some of you are just skipping to the end or you're actually watching through all of this. But yeah, just tell me in the comments cuz I don't really know even if I should even include them anymore, these speed builds. But regardless, I think you guys want to watch them, right?

You want to see my progress. You want to see my process. That's probably what you only want from me, don't you? Well, that's fine anyways. I'll show I'll show you everything I know. I do it anyways with this channel. I show everything. I show it all. Oh, okay. I think we're done with the speed build now. All right, now let's look at just the build. Okay, there you go. Now that you use the assets from the CGTrader websites, now let's move on to the lighting.

Okay, lighting and then it's lighting properties. Let me just show you what I usually do every time when I'm doing the lighting settings. I make the ambient just a little darker, like this color, somewhere around here. Just make it darker. The brightness, for this I actually really want to make a big contrast between the light and darks, so I'm going to make the the brightness pretty high. And then the color shift top, make it a yellow color.

Make it kind of yellowish, almost like sunset. With this one, I like to lower it down to just get the harsher shadows. Just change both of these to whatever. Just try to get something nice looking. So yeah, there you go. Make the ambient color somewhere around here and dark, same with the outdoor ambient color. And then make the color shift top a yellow color and then just lower these two down. And that's basically [music] what I do every time with my lighting settings.

And that works best for realism. Okay, that's enough. Now, let me do some finishing touches. This is the final build. All right, I did it. This is pretty good, but this is kind of intermediate level. So, I want to give this another shot. I feel like the realism pros would make something like this. I want to make something like this. The bits of details, different props, the set dressing. This is like the pro level with realism builders in Roblox.

And uh I'm more of a stylized builder, but I want to be part of the realism squad. So like, let me recreate something like this. So I can be a part of them and I can be really good just like them. Okay. We can do it. I'm just going to go ahead with the speed build of this, just going straight for it. So um I tried to use this one more as the reference for what I was trying to go for. In the end, it kind of looks similar to it, kind of not.

I kind of did more colors than the original reference. But yeah, also ignore the table and the chair not having any texture. It does It does have texture. Just for some reason, Roblox is really lame and it doesn't show the textures. It's not my fault. Roblox's fault just not showing textures. I don't know why. Anyways, what was I going to talk about? Oh, if you're like a loyal viewer, you're never going to believe this, but this video also got corrupted.

This video of the speed build got corrupted. But thankfully, I recovered it and it's completely fine and it's not even noticeable that it was actually corrupted, so there is no point of me telling you that it was corrupted. What's special with this one is that I actually took time with this speed build because I took account of the composition and also the colors. You'll see by the end of this this uh time lapse, I used like really good colors within the orange and teal.

Made sure those are the accent colors. And they It turned out pretty good. It turned out really nice. I'm glad with this one. I really am. Here, I forgot to remove the toolbox from the left side. Sorry, just that's just going to be there for a little bit. Anyways, uh how was your day? How is it going? Um you know what? I'm actually just going to cut this time lapse short. It's basically done here anyways. I do some off-camera mining to finish it off and I'll show you that in a little bit right now.

Okay, well here's the final product in three, two, one. Uh it's so good. Now, just sit back and relax cuz I have a I'm going to have like a lot of cinematographic shots of just showcasing this build cuz there's a lot to it. Also, I'm sorry that the video quality isn't good. I still don't know how to you do the OBS settings. That's my bad, but it still looks good. It still right? I did some photo editing of this build to make it look even better and here's how it turned out.

Again, all I did was take a screenshot from Roblox Studio and then I did some photo editing tricks to just like enhance it all. What do you all think? Anyways, I think I achieved my goal of actually nailing the realism style and also teaching y'all how to actually get your realism assets, which is just getting it from CGTrader.
